Yeah - those two and the Geordie are my favourites. The dog reminds me of my Ma. Now to find out if having seen behind the scenes has killed any of the magic though.
As an American, I enjoy hearing the diverse array of dialects and accents showcased in these shorts. It's like a veritable trip around Britain. Cheers from Los Angeles.
After all the years watching these wonderful animations at last we get to see some of the people who gave their voices! Now I want to know how they reacted to seeing themselves as dogs or bats etc. Creature Comforts is such a joyful thing.
I knew Muriel, who played a bat. She was a wonderful lady. I was lucky to grow up with her in my life! :) She was quite deaf and blind by the time this video was taken. May she rest in peace.
Well, how splendid that she gave her voice to this and so has become such a source of joy and amusement to many, which is as much as any of us can hope for!
Seriously, you knew her ?? That's brilliant! The two old ladies/bats and Geordie mouse are my favourites, could you tell me how old Muriel was at the time of recording , if you know at all? Thanks:)
My favourite was always the pessimistic hamster - he had a wonderful way with words. Also the fat cat and poodle couple, when she says “Well, you never know what’s around the corner…” and he says “The post office. The post office is around the corner.” 😂😂😂

She and her friend are two of my favourites from this show because they remind me of my grandma before she died. . Anything you could tell me at all would be appreciated and I'm sure her interesting! Thank you :)
How absolutely wonderful! As an old bat myself, loved seeing Catherine and Muriel. Hope you'll share some of the others who were kind enough to provide their voices and comments. Big thumbs up.

Ditto!! I especially loved the episode where the interviewer was asking them what they thought about speed cameras, and they couldn't hear speed cameras correctly... So they were going, "cucumbers?" "bees honey?" and then after an awkward silence or something they went "nope!" 😂😂
I agree! Nobody does that kind of thing better than these guys and I’m not even sure what exactly it is. 😂 it’s so warm and charming and human, like everything else they do.
Thank you, thank you! As soon as I saw the thumbnail I said "I hope those are the two lovely old bats". I was an animator when you first released these and have loved them ever since.

The method of capturing casual conversation here is genius. Reminds me of the behind-the-scenes for the creation of Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" where they interviewed various people (including people that worked at the studio) and asked them questions and then interspersed their recorded answers within some of the songs on the album. Some of the questions were: “What’s your favourite colour?” (to ease the interviewee in) “Why do rock and roll bands split up?” “When was last time you thumped someone?” “Why did you do it?” “Did you think you were in the right?” “Do you still you you were in the right?” “Are you frightened of dying?” “Why are you frightened of dying” (the likely prompt to Puddie Watt’s “I never said I was frightened of dying”) “Do you ever think about the dark side of the moon?” “Do you think you’re going mad?” “If so, why?” “What do you think of The Dark Side Of The Moon?”
I don't have a lot of time here left but the only thing I still have joy and a lot of laughs is from Creature Comforts...even I do not understand everything...... Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for everything
I knew Muriel, who played a bat. She was a wonderful lady. I was lucky to grow up with her in my life! :) She was quite deaf and blind by the time this video was taken. As I recall, she was a bit miffed to be an old bat. She was a classy lady in real life. May she rest in peace.
Yes, great character voices, Pickles the Guide Dog, Sid & Nancy the Rats, and Clement the hound. There are so many of interest...the Brazilian Big Cat, the Hamster in cage, the Polar Bears, The Pigs 😁.
I had no idea it was created this way! Just awesome! I’m re-watching Creature Comforts all over again and seeing the creatures in a whole new light!! Brilliant - thank you for sharing!! 👍🏽🇦🇺
I cannot thank you enough for uploading this! The two old ladies and the Geordie mouse are my favourites - as well as the guide dog but unfortunately she wasn't in this, but the two old ladies and Geordie mouse was brilliant seeing what they look like. And the Welsh dog doesn't look like I thought he would. It's just brilliant seeing the people behind the voices and it makes me glad that they enjoyed being interviewed
i hold this show very dear to my heart, hearing people go through the same stuff as me has really helped me overcome certain problems, i really hope the individuals who all worked on this are proud of what they have created and im glad this show exists for all to enjoy
I love the creature comforts with the old dudes who constantly joked around. I think they were parrots and one makes a joke and then said, "I've got million of 'em, hara-chachacha."
I’d love to know if you went into the interviews knowing what creatures these characters would be and if you tailored the interviews as such. It’s all very cleverly put together and the shows are great!

I SO want to see the chilled-out cat and dog couple!
Goosh!...So did I!!!
And the old brown dog!
The cat sounds soo much like Karl Pilkington it would not surprise me if it was him!

Some serious talent here
I agree wholeheartedly. They don't make stuff like as good as this anymore , do they? :(
