Great video Lauren! I bought a snoot a few months ago and I haven't been using it often since then. I've used it for a shooting this week as my key light and I fell in love with it! I feel like I'm going to have fun with it on my shootings to come :)
what is the product name of the computer stand you use? I really like the hook for the cables and the drink holder. is that a V-mount on the bottom for a battery?
Incredible video. I've watched so many videos about flash and never has it been more clearer to me what exactly I need to use to get the look I'm going for. Thank you for this beautiful work
On your previous videos, you've used a continuous LED. Now you're using a Speedlight, looks like the Godox AD200. Which is best? How do you choose between continuous and flash? BTW- I think your videos are very simple and informative, I love them.
Hi! I'm using the PIKA 200 TTL flashes :) I mostly shoot with flash, sometimes it's just easier to film shooting with continuous light! Hope that helps. Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching!
@@LaurenCarisShort If you didn't know: Thats a UK rebrand of the Godox AD200 (Pro). The latter will be a more commonly known name. Same product, different branding :) (In the US Adorama sells Godox stuff as Flashpoint). It's all cross compatible too.
Thank you. This was an excellent video. How long does this take you to shoot and edit? With the multiple camera angles and setting up the different modifiers it must have taken some time but the quality and time you take really shows. Loved it!
Ahh thanks so much! This video took about half a day to film. I got food from a local restaurant to save time, and I have a brilliant editor for my UA-cam videos now (ua-cam.com/users/YousefAH) - so that also saves me a LOT of time!
Thanks Lauren - I shoot a lot food and drink in restaurants and bars in the UK. I usually shoot near window light and use small leds to push a bit into the shadows. I'd like to try lights because obviously Im at the mercy of available daylight. I was thinking of using 2 AD100, one shooting through a transparent reflector leaning against the table (usually no room for a light stand), the other AD100 putting a bit of light back into the shadows at the front of the food, so basically a back lit scenario. Do you think this could work in cramped space.
Hey Mark! Yes that sounds like a great setup for a restaurant. Quite often I'll just use one light because of space in a restaurant, but for backlit, your idea of filling the front a bit sounds perfect!

A M A Z I N G! Ive never tried using rectangular softbox as key light, but Ill give it a try. Thanks so much.
Brilliant video. Just wondering if you have a tutorial showing how you set up the tethering equipment and screens?
Thanks Lauren for sharing valuable tips, I noticed the scrim modifier produces more softer than any other modifier .
This video was so informative! This gonna help a lot! Thank you 😍
I'm so glad! Thanks!
This is an excellent video. Thank you for that information and demo.
Thank you so much for this very informative video!! It will really help a lot of us!! Please keep making more videos!!
I will! Thank you for watching!
Excellent information, thank you so much Lauren!!
Thanks for watching Lori!
Wow , such an amazing and educational video. Thank you so much! I can't wait to dive into the world of artificial light!
Woo!
This video is very important for me! Thank you😀
Looks good and affordable to build up too or adapt to needs. Thanks.
Definitely! I didn't buy all of these at once, but gradually over the years. Hopefully you'll be able to see which one might suit you best first.
I learn much from your movies thanks for your great job.
Repsect from morroco
Very interesting! Thanks!
This is amazing thank you for sharing this!

Incredibly helpful, Lauren; I learned a lot from this; thank you :)
Thank you for sharing
very nice explaining video, question: what kind of backdrops are those?
These are vinyl backdrops from Bessie Bakes Backdrops
@@LaurenCarisShort oh wow, I always thought vinyls are crappy at an angle. Might need to try some then.
What size are they?
Such an amazing video💐
Thanks so much for watching!
Nice!! 👏👏
Thanks Eder!
ooh that snoot looks nice but I think it would have to be a secondary light as a nice accent (as you said!)
when you changed the setting of the flash are you also changing the settings of the camera to compensate for the more or less light?

the size of the camera 🤯, is this a medium format camera ?
Great video, Thank you
A W E S O M E !
What light stand and Manfrotto were you using?
Thank you!!
Hi Lauren! This is super helpful. What's your setup for attaching the scrim to the stand? Would love to know which stand and clamp you're using.
Hey! It's a small Newer clamp that attaches to the top of a light stand and spins into different orientations. Really nothing fancy!
Incredible video. I've watched so many videos about flash and never has it been more clearer to me what exactly I need to use to get the look I'm going for. Thank you for this beautiful work
great video! Although that monitor sitting up there is a bit precarious, gives me anxiety

How big is the screen?
2:17 is that only 1 light?
You are right talk about modifier but say NOTHING about the ligho
Didn’t I see this before a couple weeks ago? 🧐
Nope! Just uploaded a couple of days ago :)
@@LaurenCarisShort maybe it was uploaded as unlisted? I definitely watched this a while ago. Anyways, great video!
