    What do you mean lower body pulls arms through? Or do you just mean to convey that the lower body starts the swing/kinetic chain? You mention a hovering sensation or something like that at the top of the swing, is that related?

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  Рік тому

      Here we go Krista! I think you just nailed the area in question in your swing! If you go back to the “kinetic chain facilitation series” on the premium channel where we walk and send divots into the direction we want to send the ball, when you get good at this task, you feel the squat grab the ground AS THE ARMS ARE STILL FLOATING JUST EVER SO SLIGHTLY UPWARDS AT THE TOP OF THE BACKSWING, and then as the squat comes down into the ground with both legs (predominantly in the lead side), it then sends off a chain of events that pull the loaded arm-club unit through the collection of ball-turf and releases it nicely out into the direction of the flight plan through the intermediate point. For me, the big polish job needed in my swing is the “stick the finish despite the ball” series where you do everything above and nail it to the finish.

      Thank you Shawn.
      Going from a positions focussed swing to a feel/athletic swing, means my feel is almost non existent, so hopefully people understand my question was NOT a positions question.

    @shawn - It has been some time for me when I first found your channel and you helped me so much via email after your first premium video series launched. I then had surgery around 2016 and thought I was done with the game for good. Just so you, and anyone that reads this comment knows how good of a teacher/coach you are, I had not swung a club in 6 years. Not even a chip. I finally decided to give it a go and see how the stomach held up with the OK from the doctor, and I can tell you right now, that - within 3 weeks of doing YOUR fundamentals again and remembering the lessons, I went out and shot +4 on 9 holes today for my 2nd round since coming back. That included two 3 putts and a 4 putt because my feel is still off around the greens. 6 years with nothing to do with golf, to shooting a 40 on 9 holes the second round back within 3 weeks. It speaks for itself, and I am very thankful for all the free videos you give the community. I just wish more people would actually follow and listen to what you have to say. Most underrated teacher in this sport, period. I am forever in your debt because there is no way I could have had such a fast turn around, with no interaction in the game in that timespan, without the instruction being so well ingrained and Intune with the human anatomy. I just hate I did not have the access to this information when I was younger, and to anyone that happens to read this entire comment, STOP fighting your anatomy, STOP worrying about what your swing looks like, listen to Shawn and the Wisdom in Golf team, and let your swing free. It will serve you so much better as you get older, and you will stop overthinking an already complicated game.

    I am noticing the little pre-swing back heel tap happening with both Shawn and Mu... Sav's is a bit more of a toe tap. Do I recall you saying that's a little reminder to start the weight back?

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  2 роки тому +1

      Not to start the weight back but to signal that the heave has been initiated for the gathering of momentum in the backswing…

    Great video Shawn. I had two lessons in person from you years ago in Canada. I moved to FL years ago and hooked up with a 3 day golf school from David Lee (Gravity Golf). The similarities are mind boggling..............he uses the word heave as well and let's the initial downswing move to be allowing the arms and shoulders to drop with a deadfall and the body core rotates to provide the energy. Do you agree you both have similar perspectives? I miss you btw. Best wishes. Magee (PS: when you viewed my swing you would always say " when did you defer to the ball?" Great message, thanks again)

    Trees still, 2 club wind?

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  2 роки тому +1

      Haha Yes! You need to come to Royal Quebec! 36 holes and not one house on the premises; you will never see another place like it for wind coming down the St-Laurence river and up the hill down some of the fairways and driving range where we are hitting back into right now.

    At around 5:30 it looks like your right arm collapses a little. Is there any conscious thought to keep it wider in the backswing?

    Baseball players trail hand is always facing up at impact. This is hard and feels different with a golf club. Is your trail hand facing up at impact when you golf?

    • @golflessons

      To a certain extent yes! Imagine you take the baseball impact position and lower it until you get to the ground!😀👍

    They always tell the big sluggers in baseball to "Swing for the fences" they never say swing for the ball.
