I live 102 miles (2 hours) to Taliesin North from my N. IL home by way of the most beautiful country roads ever. A perfect Saturday motorcycle ride for me. Every time I make take the ride I stop at Frank Lloyd Wrights family chapel and graveyard. You’d never know that Frank’s remains have left his grave for the desert appearing normal with marker. The Spring Green area resembles somewhere in Europe with the rolling hills & valleys. The “Driftless” area of WI where the glaciers never passed through.
Great comments, Greg! July in Spring Green was beautiful. I can imagine how that would make for a great weekend motorcycle ride. I plan to do a video on Milwaukee this summer, and I'm going to try to get up to the Apostle Islands too. I'd love if you subscribe to my channel.
Thanks, Ying! I've always been familiar with FLW and his work, but really dug deeper while putting together this video. Oh, and this trip was a very small gesture when compared to all my Grandma Flo has done for me over the years.
I soo enjoyed this video! I was just passing thru Spring Green, and going into Dodgeville to meet up with some friends, and as we drove along , I noticed the signs for House on the Rock, and Taliesin. It's for sure on my bucket list, to do! Just beautiful! You and your Grandma are a cute pair! Thanks for sharing!!
Absolutely AMAZING in so many ways!! Flo, you look amazing and so glad Kevin helped to check it off your bucket list!! Kevin, you are not only truly unbelievable at your craft, but such a great grandson! I think I have a 92 mile river to kayak/camp added to my bucket list! As always, an amazing story, learned a lot of new things and, most of all, warmed my heart to see the two of you. You and Flo have been trapsing around together all over literally since you could walk. Well, well done! Loved it! **Disclaimer: Even though I am Kevin's favorite Uncle and Flo often says that the two greatest things about Scott marrying Kate are having Kate AND me in their family, I have no bias in this comment nor have I received compensation for this objective review.**
Kevin, great job! We take folks on bucket list architecture adventures several times a year and of course have taken some to Taliesin, etc. Glad to see Brock Stafford on camera several times, too. We have taken our guests to stay at the Spring Valley Inn as well and recommend it highly. Taliesin is amazing, needless to say! Thanks for a well done video!
What a neat thing to do for work! Brock and the entire team at Taliesin were so hospitable and friendly. You could tell they really care about the mission of keeping FLW's legacy alive and well. Thanks for taking the time to comment, Robin :)
I recently found your channel. You deserve way more subscribers. Really enjoyed both the Buenos Aires and Santiago videos. Fun note: that whole FLW / Mike Wallace interview is amazing. Definitely worth a watch if you're an architecture nerd.
Thanks, Nathan! I sure hope my subscriber count grows as I produce more videos on different locations/topics. My goal is to educate people on amazing places out there. And I will definitely watch the FLW Mike Wallace interview. I appreciate you flagging that for me.
Great video! Would like to see Washington DC especially - Mirror, Mirror Reflections of America in Disney Parks, scheduled to open at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History May and remain open till April 2024.
Wonderful! Regarding camping on the river .. I would feel remiss if I didn't call out how the people pictured were camping on the river. NEVER EVER EVER camp on an open sand bar like that. People don't undertsnd how dangerous this river is. I live here and have seen this all too often. People die on this river just about every year. NEVER camp on an open empty sand bar like that. The river can change depth VERY quickly and you will find yourself flooded in your sleep. Only camp on sand bars that have permanent vegetation and well above the water line. And stay WELL away from the downstream ends of sand bars. They can literally just collapse underneath you, sucking you under and burying you in sand.
Your Grandma is fortunate to have a grandson like you!
Perfect!! Love it Grandma Flo
I absolutely loved this video!! Thank you!! You have given Grandma so much. One of her dreams have come true. ❤️
What a darling lady and so very lucky to have you as a grandson. ♥️
Thanks so much for watching, Tawni. Grandma Flo is a wonderful woman. I feel so blessed to still have her in my life.
Wonderful story Kevin. Great job! Glad you and Grandma took this trip! I think Spring Green will be seeing more visitors 😊

I'm in northern Illinois. What country road would you recommend to take into Spring Green?
What a wonderful video!! You guys look great! Great job Flo!🥰
What a good grandson! Interesting background of Wright!

So glad you enjoyed the video! I just finished a one-month trip of Iowa and will be producing two pieces on FLW destinations in the state.
Nice channel!
Thanks, MVG2 X. I'm going to be sliding into this full time in 2023 so be sure to subscribe!

That's incredible insight. Thank you for taking the time to share this important safety advice with people.
