Love these cabinets. I would use the paint you have. The dark navy would look great, but would show all the saw dust, and dirt.
I think so too!
Love your channel. You should have a million followers. True talent. I keep telling my friends to subscribe.
Yes!! I was thinking the same! ❤
Came here to say exactly this
The lighter shade, for the cabinet, would show less saw dust and dirt. You did a great job, Kelsey!😊
That trick you did clamping the flat boards underneath the 2x4s to set the boards on while you screwed them to the back supports was brilliant and did not go unnoticed! I have filed that away to use when I’m working on some thing by myself. Which is how I do everything. Lol.
Me too! Always by myself. Pretty sure I saw someone else do that in a video and I was like that’s genius!
I love the Cyberspace paint color and have used it myself, but I agree with others. It would show dust and wear and tear more. The light gray would be perfect. Great job!
If I was your nosy neighbor, I’d be driving by every day sneaking peeks at your latest project. I’d be like, “My law, what’s that woman up to now?” Lol
It’s looking so good!! I love your bench for the miter saw. I would use the lighter color paint. Partly because it uses up what you already have but also because it will show less dust.
🤣🤣
This is exactly the project we need for our garage. I liked how you broke it down into manageable steps. I’d use the paint you have in hand. I think the lighter color will be more garage friendly in the long run.
I think the lighter color would look better. It wouldn’t clash with the color of the back door. It’ll make the space feel bigger. I love the way you built the cabinets. I might do that to my she shed/shop lol. I can’t wait for the finished product.
Cabinet turned out great. Being a female woodworker, I would suggest you use the gray as the cabinet color. I love the dark but can tell you it is going to show the saw dust and hand prints more than the gray.
That looks so great Kelsey! I'd stick with the light grey color for the cabinets. In addition to not showing the saw dust and dirt like others have already mentioned, it would blend into the walls better and make the garage interior look visually larger. Are you going to put some handles on the doors so you don't get lots of fingerprints on them? I really like how your garage update turned out; so nice!
So impressed with your work! Love the blue colour, but the cabinet is very big so maybe a light colour.
AMAZING how you built these huge cabinets! I agree with all the comments to use the lighter paint you have on hand. Dark paint will show the saw dust much more. 😊
That was a brilliant build of those cabinets. I am always impressed with your designs! I would stick to the light color.
This cabinet and organization looks great! The gray will not show the dust like the dark color will. Looking forward to your next video!!!😊❤😊
I love this for my large laundry room/pantry. Cabinets are so expensive for how many I need.
Sent this video to my husband! Lol. I don't have your talent. So I hope he will do this for me 🙏
Great job! Love all your videos ❤❤❤
Use what you have! The grey would look great. And will show less dirt and sawdust. Just jazz it up with some fun oversized hardware!
Hola!!Que bien trabajas, tú puedes hacer hasta una casa, te admiro mucho❤
Paint in the light grey. You are so talented. Looks great
Love the cabinet build. I think you should paint them a color that compliments the color of your back door & refrigerator. Then door handles! Great job!
Great job! I am always amazed at your work! I love both colors but I would choose the gray. I say that because it has less chance of showing wear and tear. I think you would see marks and chips sooner with the blue. Have an amazing week!
That’s a good point!
These came out great, Kelsey! I would use the grey paint you have. It will look great!
Great job on those cabinets! They look sturdy and functional, just what you need in a garage/workshop. I agree with using the lighter paint.
Those cabinets look great! I would go with the grey paint color. For budget reasons, and looking cleaner. A garage is dusty and on the grey you won't see it as much as on the darker color!
Modern grey paint color for sure 🙌🏻
Love the cabinets and the organization of the garage. However, I think the grey will lighten up the space and you don't have to spend anything extra ❤😊😊
Love everything about this! I would go with the lighter color that you already have. The dark paint is beautiful, but it will show more dust and debris than the lighter color. Can't wait to see the next video!
Love the cabinets! Good job! Lighter paint.
I love these cabinets!!! So easy, budget friendly, and look so great. I would go with the grey you have-cheaper and the darker navy will show the sawdust more maybe?
I’m a little “late” to advise you on the color for the cupboard paint, but as a quilter who uses the garage with a small group of friends, we need light for sewing anyway we can get it. Go with a light color to give yourself the boost that reflected light can provide. The darker colors will show the “oops” right away, and as you said yourself, these cupboards are going to be taking abuse because they are in a garage. I was very happy to find your video. Your DIY project was EXACTLY what I was looking for to have built in our garage soon! Thank you for all the tips-they will be put to good use!
Nice shelves, very practical, sturdy and they look good!
VOTE - paint color - I like the paint you used in the bathroom, the darker color. Since it's a "working garage" it will show less dirt, smudges, etc. than the lighter color. However - the lighter color will allow more light to bounce around to better work on projects. It's a toss up!
Suggestion - hopefully the cabinets you removed, you're going to use on the other wall. The one narrow cabinet could go above the fridge and the others on that 3rd wall. Sill have room toward the door to hanging items, ladder etc. and room under the cabinets for more organization. It's looking good.
The dark color will show all dust on it the lighter grey would be best for this project. Love the cabinets!
Looks amazing! The dark would look awesome but definitely show every spec of sawdust. Maybe the lighter color with cool handles for the doors or even trim on the doors could be cool. Whatever you choose will look great for sure!
I think the paint that you already have. Definitely budget friendly plus the much lighter color will help bounce light around the garage. Can't go wrong with a well lit work area ☀
Looks amazing!!!! Great job! I would do the lighter color! The navy dark.. is stunning and would be beautiful but will show that saw dust way worse .
Use what you have. Remember all the saw dust...it scratches when dusted. The gray would blend with the frig.
Looks great. You do more by yourself than most do with help. Keep it lighter. The dark paint will be a dust collector in the garage. Will look dirty all the time.
I'm fan of using what you already have, and I agree with what so many others have said...shows dirt and sawdust more...
It looks great! I would definitely go with the darker color and possibly paint your miter station the same color so it’s all cohesive. The only thing that might stand out is the color of your garage door. So maybe painting the garage door that gray paint that you found on hand if you go with the darker color for the built-ins.
Just amazing love the cabinets...I'd go with the light gray but do what you think is best❤
I love watching your videos. You inspire me to do more projects in my own home. I would do the light grey since sawdust on a darker color will drive you crazy. Looks great so far!
Totally true. Trying to minimize the sawdust!
Like the gray
Kelsey does it again! Amazing work 👏
Iove ❤ love ❤ love ❤ these cabinets! Our garage is big and we have metal shelving racks hanging from the ceiling for outdoor holiday decor. Underneath these shelves we have tons of space. We need to install insulation first, then built in cabinets, but I've decided to buy gently used armoires and mount them to the walls. For paint storage, holiday decor and handyman tools. I also want to store my vacuums , excess cleaning supplies in here. I dont have alot of storage for large vacuums and supplies in my home. This is a great idea! We might do this if we cant find armoires for cheap or free. I only have 1 right now. Thank you for another ❤wonderful vlog!
Love these garage cabinets you built! As for the paint color for these cabinets, I would use what you have and go with a lighter paint color. Going with a darker paint color, in a space that is subjected to a lot more dust, you will see the dust on the dark cabinets. If a dusty cabinet doesn’t bother you, going with a darker cabinet would look great too.. Best of luck! Can’t wait see the end results. 😊
That’s nice you don’t need a handy man baby girl. Thanks for sharing
I would use the light grey for the simple fact that black will show saw dust much more and you will constantly have to clean them
You make everything look so easy and this was the video I've needed as I'm about to create garage storage as well. You definitely gave me a few pointers. Thanks!
Phenomenal job as always. I was worried when you took down the upper cabinets by yourself! One of my sisters and brother-in-law built something similar for my mom back in 1996. One side was the broom closet with a cupboard above it. One side was for sleeping bags to hang up. Behind the sleeping bags was the beach chairs and card table that was accessed from the end (side). I'd use the paint you already have. Navy is my jam but like others have said, it will show all the dust. I forgot that when I painted my end tables navy!
Wow…would love these cabinets in my garage.
Use what you have, maybe do some kinda design with pop of first color from bathroom. Spend $$ on the hardware for door. LOVE the way you made frame for front of cabinet, genius 🤯 but you have been doing DIY for while by self & had to think of ways to finish projects. THANK YOU for inspiring me, starting to do projects on own since semi retired now.
Use the paint you have. Plus a lighter color will not show the dust as much as a dark color.
Looks so good! I hope you do pull out shelves for your work bench cabinets for tools. You could make them in no time. I make mine for my kitchen and would love them in my garage! I would go lighter, but I’d also do what I love. Cleaning them is as easy as a leaf blower 😉
Definitely want to do this in my kitchen!
Buikt the frame of mine today from your video. Still the best video and execution I've found. Thank you
I love hearing this! That’s awesome!
Great job!!! Use the gray paint!!!🙂🙂🙂
Looks great, I think the. Light grey ❤️
I would absolutely use the paint you already have for this project! It's looking great so far!
I use what I have to save money! I love your channel! It inspires me!
Use the paint you have - you can always update the color later if you want. Is there nothing you can’t do … 🥰 I love the design of the sturdy cabinets- saw same on Ana whites UA-cam
I was thinking to have left a little space at the garage entry door would make it more comfortable to walk through
Store supplies/equipment where you use them most -
So good, use what you have, makes sense to keep the cost down.
Love the cabinet!! I would just use what you have in terms of paint.
Grait work. That is looking amaizing.👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏.
I would go with the light gray. The blue is gorgeous but it is going to show dust immediately!
So true.
Nice to see you doing this..I have a plan from Ana White very similar that I’m wanting to add to my garage. Love your videos. Girl power !!
You are Amazing! I am inspired to get into my garage and clean it up!!! ❤
I think lite colors would be great on this Cabinet. Awesome video again.
I would have put the cabinets into the corner and put the refrigerator next to the door. That would give more space by the door and could be moved if you needed to angle stuff in and out of the house. Great build I am going to try and do something similar in my garage.
I was super limited to where I could put things because of the outlets in this garage. The refrigerator had to stay where it was.
Use the gray you have. The dark blue will show all that sawdust and you feel like you need to constantly be cleaning.
Great job. Use what you have and save money.
lighter shade paint. great job.
Nice storage!
Just did the same thing! everything is always covered in saw dust. My paint cans were covered. I loved throwing things out and getting organized. My garage has never been so organized! great job! I would go darker paint bc of the doors getting knocked in to a lot.
Sawdust on everything! And when I tried to blow the garage out, it just seemed like it swirled in every direction because of all the nooks and crannies. Hopefully this helps.
Use what you have. It's a garage! (But such a nice garage!)
Wow Wow Wow ! ❤
So fabulous!
If you use the dark it will show all the solid dust use the light, it won't be as bad.
Great job. I'd paint the can grey. You already have the paint and the blue might be too dark and massive looking.
Another amazing job. Use the paint you have.
Thank you!
Light grey definitely. It won’t get dirty from the dust plus you already have it.
Thought about adding sliding doors to the other shelf?
The old shelves are probably not staying. Hoping to donate them somewhere.
You never disappoint...beautiful job and use the paint you have....
Thank you!
You did a great job. You should be proud :)
Hi Kelsey if were you I would use what I have think the navy will catch a lot of dust best of luck
I like dark navy blue, but it would be wise to paint with what is at hand.
You really are clever have you thought of buying a chateau in france❤
I love this project what is the size of each plywood door I’m trying to do it thanks for share with us ❤
They doors are about 16” wide and around 90” tall
Love it!!!
Use the paint you have. Looks great.
I think the dark will show more dust. The light makes more sense to me.
There’s nothing u can’t do! Consistently impressed with your skills. I’d use the rest of the paint you have! (another can less to store!)
Good point!
Looks really good I would what I have.
I agree, use what you have and I think lighter is better.
Gray paint is my vote. Cyberspace would look cool for a photo, but will show every inch of dust and smudge from a sawdusty finger. Gray will hide the dust so much better!
WOW! Kelsey, you outdid yourself. You should moonlight. I would love to find someone like you that could help me renovate and build cabinets and shelves for my new move in. You are so talented. I would use the paint you have. It will also look cleaner. Are you going to put handles on the doors? Very impressive. ❤
I will definitely be adding handles after I paint the cabinets.
Just wanted to say - love your new intro!
Thank you!
I love watching your videos! I’m going to attempt this in my garage ❤ Did you leave the 2x3’s at 8’ long? And how far apart did you space the vertical boards?
Yes the 2x3 are 8 fr long. I think I spaced the vertical boards every two feet.
I just love how easy, nice and affordable you made these cabinets.Thank you so much for this!,I want to try this in my garage too ,because I have the same sawdust problem but, also I need space for my camping stuff, and this is the perfect way to do it.❤ So did you used 1x4.? Or 2x4 frame wood.?
Affordable was the goal! The framing of the cabinets are 2x3s.
@@KelseyRomitoDIY thanks again!
I would do the same color as the door... But that's just my machy machy thing coming out... Love what you have made Tho...
Good job, but please be safe! Use safety googles and something tougher than sneakers!
The light gray color
I love this makeover! I would use the lighter color - the darker the color the more sawdust/dust you will see on your beautiful cabinet. #garagegoals :)
Go with the grey paint you have.
I would use what you have! It's just a garage.
