Imagine all the history we dont know because it was thrown out or destroyed
Love that Dave Ward! Great Journalist!!🤗
This is what you call human error. There was a African American High School in Austin Texas in the 1950s had trophies from football winnings and all type of awards and pictures enough to fill a 18 wheeler, when the state of whom ever make those decision to stop by to re model the school someone made the decision to through all the pictures away then there was a phone call to a lady a statue and when she found out about it she immediately went Renee rental truck and began to get the truck loaded with all the African American Awards. If it had not been for this lady we never would have gotten a chance to see all the beautiful documentation from Anderson High School in Austin Texas. Hats off to this lady. So yes it's a human error and it's all about money and the title of it is who cares. Hats off to the gentleman and his father for going the extra mile to save all history it is priceless. And it's funny how now all of a sudden people think it was a great thing when back in the day the pictures were trash. Congratulations to this family and the families who went the extra mile to say beautiful history
And this video is about Houston, so....
That wasn’t Buff Sta behind the dome. It’s: Colt45 stadium
Buff stadium was located on Saint Barnard ( now Cullen ) where the Fingers warehouse was located. The Houston Buffalo's was the farm team for the St. Louis Cardinals. I believe Dizzy Dean played his early days there.
@@michaellight6381 buffaloes. Spelling. Cullen jhs!
Incredible photos!!
I have two excellent locations for a Houston history museum: the original Rufus Cage Elementary and the original Brookline Elementary, both on Telephone Road. HISD is happily letting them rot away.
I grew up in Houston in the 90s. Gotta admit, it was kind of a dump around then. But wow the 1930s to 50s seemed amazing.
Wow well rescued 👍
Hopefully those precious memories gets lost forever
is there a place we can view the photos today?
Great photos but respectfully, the stadium mentioned behind the Astrodome is the pre-Astros Colt 45 stadium, not the Buff's stadium.
The Buffalos Stadium was at the site of Finger's Furniture on I-45 South. Walking into the store's foyer there was a home plate on the floor. Positioned in the exact location.
