His coaches and teammates at ManU have all said Ronaldo would stay hours after training to practice freekicks on his own. Maybe he came up with a style similar to Didi's, but he invented his own form of knuckleball (that was a lot more accurate and powerful than Didi's BTW).

i played volleyball since a kid, and i can tell u that there's that technique of hitting the ball serving, making it change direction as it goes...u get the valve up and hit it straight, in the middle...if done right, very dificult to defend. the first time i saw Ronaldo score like that, it was the first thing i thought.
