One does not simply own a DS Lite and not break the hinge.
My friend has 2 DS lites and are in perfect condition. How does he do it!? My DSi is working fine but looks terrible. 🤣
Only broke one DS lite hinge (my black one), my other one is surviving and it's ice blue. The original DS hinge has a higher chance of breaking.

I had one and the hinge broke. Eventually it got so bad to the point where I couldn’t play with it on the top screen. I also ended up losing nearly all my DS games, which really stunk.
Ive had mine for roughly 7 years, I gave It to my brother, he dropped it in the toilet, got heated under a couch, and got buried. It still works pretty good except the shoulder buttons dont work any more and there's a tiny deadzone on the touchscreen.
I've never been able to afford a nintendo console, until now, I'm about to get the switch, it'll be my first console

@@dcaban85 you can't plays switch games on android.... Emulators only work with few games and only works on very and expensive powerful devices mostly 600$+ and you can't play online multiplayer and more

My nintendo experience when I was on college my parents only given me permision to buy a console but by my own money, and since we're not that rich, i bought a 2nd-hand gba sp and i only got to play pokemon trying to complete the dex, then after a while i traded my ps2 on a nds, then when I got a crappy job, i bought a 2nd hand old3ds yr 2013 and still in good condition til now... but at present I got a decsent job as a nurse, I have a new3dsxl and a switch, I also have a vita, a ps4 and a gaming laptop... every console I had i used my hard earned money, and I'm proud of being a gamer 😊😊😊

Hi Erica.
I was wondering, would you happen to know of a Nintendo system, that can play the newer Pokemon games like Sun and Moon Ultra and other newer titles, but has a brighter screen. I took a look at the new 3DSXl and new 2DSXl but can't see on it that well. My brother and I are both visually impaired and can't see on dim and small screens, but we still want to experience Nintendo.

Hi i’m from malaysia. when i was a kid, i’ve had my eyes on these kinda game consoles but was never had a chance to have it my own. i could just stare at it when i walked in front of the game store. how i wish i could collect it like you did. and now i just started my first job and saving money to have my own nintendo switch. can’t wait to have it myself! it’s okay to have it late. you will learn on how to be passion to get whatever things you want. 3months more and i will finally have it yayyyy🥳

When I was 6, I got a GBA SP 2nd handed for Christmas. I got several games with it also, including Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Advance 2, Super Mario Advance 4, and some other non Nintendo stuff such as Battleship. I traveled around a lot as a kid, and I still associate memories from games with traveling experiences. Since I was living overseas, I didn't really have a lot of new games to try, but I kept playing the same ones over and over. Then one day, when my parents friends came to visit, they brought me Mario Kart, Megaman, Pokemon red, and some other games based off movies and such. I played those for quite a while and was happy to have some more variety. At one point, we met up with some people my parents knew, and as a random gift they gave us a GameCube. I loved it with all my heart, until my dad fried it by accident a year or so later. For Christmas that year, me and my sister both got a DS. Later on we ended up loosing almost our whole collection, so the details are fuzzy about what games I got when, but I remember playing New Super Mario Bros as well as Kirby, Final Fantasy, and Civilization. While I played a lot of games, I hadn't really beat too many. I was around 9 when I beat my first Mario Game, which was of course NSMB. I felt amazing knowing that I had completed a whole game. I would like to say I kept playing, but I honestly stopped. For a long time. It was only really in 2016 when I actually kinda started playing again. I had to be in the car for 70 minutes two days a week, so I started playing SMB3. Now that I was older, I actually beat the game and felt amazing once again. I then found out about the joys of an emulator and began playing SMB2 on my laptop. I beat the game, but I had used save states. A year or so later, I decided to work on it and I came up until the last level before I called it quits. At this time, I put my devices away again. Then last spring, I began emulating off my phone, playing on a xbox controller. During this time I beat Super Mario World and played some classics that I hadn't played in a while. I started Yoshis Island, and finally beat it a few weeks ago. Then I decided since I had beat a lot of Mario games, I might as well finish Super Mario Advance 2, and I beat that the very next day. For Christmas I got a Wii and I've been slowly working through New Super Mario Bros wii with him, and he seems to really like Nintendo over almost everything. Sorry that was long, just wanted to share my experience :D

Here's my story, as requested:
It was maybe 1987 or 1988. Maybe earlier...? Anywho, my dad bought me an NES system because I showed so much interest in the system and always hung out at friend's houses who had one. SNES wasn't a thing yet. I got to play Mario and Excitebike, Duck Hunt and Castlevania too. Played it for years but was never able to get the SNES and my dad wouldn't buy my a GameBoy because he said the Sega Gamegear was superior. I was obsessed with portable gaming. It wasn't until 1998 that I bought my own own GameBoy Color. I still have it and it still works great. I got Pokemon blue version and it has only snow-balled from there. I have gone through nearly every handheld system at this point, including the failed Game.com. I've since played and own a copy of most Pokemon games to date. Currently, I am in love with the Switch and my 3DS still doesn't get a chance to get to get turned off because I play it near daily too. My wife and I each have a Switch and love playing together. It's been a part of my life for as long as I can remember and I wouldn't change it.
I’m 18 years old and I started Nintendo at the age of 5 back in 2007 with the GameCube and a copy of Pokémon coliseum and LEGO Star Wars
It’s videos like this that make me regret my younger self trading in older Nintendo equipment and games to get new stuff. I mean, I was broke back then but man, I wish I could bring that stuff back!

The DS Lite was the most remarkable console for me because of the liberty I had to play. I didn't have to share TV time anymore with my dad or with my brother.

Girl, I was just hit with a giant wave of nostalgia in terms of gaming throughout my life.
But in terms of Nintendo, the memory that sticks out the most is my first experience with the N64. When I was little (still in pre-k) I was hospitalized for a REALLY bad asthma attack. Now, this was a children's hospital so there was always consoles and games and whatnot around.
Since I was basically going to be confined to the bed for a week, aside from going to bathroom, they asked if I liked to play games. Up to this point I had only played very basic ones on PC (hi Windows 95 lol) and thought they'd bring in a Genesis or SNES since those were all over. But to my surprise they brought this weird thing that I found out was an N64 with Mario 64.
I was instantly drawn in and hooked on it. It distracted me from everything going on and made the stay so much more bearable. When I got out I spent the next 2 years asking to get one every chance I got.
Even to now, some of my best and clearest memories from back then are playing Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Pod Racers, and Pokémon Stadium.

Haha my first experience with gaming was with a Nintendo 64, my friends used to play it a ton at my babysitter's house and I would watch them all day playing Mario Kart 64 until I was old enough to hold a controller. My first Nintendo system was a light blue DSi. I have a lot of fun with New Super Mario Bros. and Mario Kart DS. I put stickers on it because I thought it looked good but I wanted to remove them. They wouldn't come off so I use a sink .... It didn't turn on. I don't have it anymore but a few years after that , my sister gave me her pink DS Lite (she got it the same time I got my DSi). To this day , it still works. The Nintendo systems I currently have are the DS Lite , 2DS and Nintendo Switch.

50 year old guy here who remembers fondly my days with super Nintendo and game Boy advance. Recently I started thinking about how much I enjoyed playing the classics such as the Mario games oh, but I wondered, is a 50 year old too old to buy these new game systems for himself? Maybe, maybe not, but regardless I have bought the Nintendo switch, the super Nintendo version of the 3 DS XL, lots of Mario games, and a few other games. Having a blast.

I saved up 4 months and traded in the old trusty wii u for it in March and I'm satisfied with the console
I couldn't either until I got a nice decent paying job half a year ago. Finally found an amazing deal and couldn't turn it down about 4 months ago, $280 for a neon switch, with 5 games; Mario Odyssey, Zelda BotW, Spla2oon, MK8D, and DKC Tropical Freeze, 2 64gb Switch SD cards, a pro controller, and a carry case... Then I wanted a Ps4 lol, found a hella nice gold limited edition 1tb Slim with 9 games for $170 about a month and a half ago. Then just last week got me a One X for $300. Picking up the 4k tv next week. Get a good job, save up the money, and you too can do the same.

My Nintendo memories are way back to the 90’s when I got my NES and SNES man the look on my face is just amazing. I was very happy with them. Now days I only have the SNES Classic Edition and 2 NINTENDO 2DS system and yeah I love playing both of them. I would to win The Switch and the Nintendo 3DS XL that would complete my Collection!!!

I was pretty young and grew up in a religious family. If I wanted to play videogames, it had to be kid-friendly so Nintendo was the obvious pick. First game I played was Duck Hunt on the NES. I was way too young to use a regular controller but the NES zapper made it easy for a snot nose kid like me to play. The first console I really put my whole time into was the GameCube. Paper Mario TTYD, Wave Race, Olympic Winter Games, SSB Melee, Mario Kart DD, XGRA, Monkeyball 1&2... That was my childhood and while there were a few crap shoots like Virtua Fighter (anime version), the majority kept my attention for a long while before getting distracted by PC gaming. I remember playing a lot of Smash with my nephews, screaming at each other when a blue shell is headed our way, and destroying each other in EXGRA with various weapons. It was the best moments of my childhood... Now I'm an adult and now own a Switch with the money I earned in my job. I've come a long way since then. In-between I was gifted a Wii when it first came out and bought the Wii U myself since it had a lot of first-games already released... It was also the first console I regret buying although I'll always miss Miiverse. Rest in peaces talented artists!
Owning a Switch is great, outside of that annoying drift. Lots of great games and the ability to switch between TV or portable mode is not just a novelty that wears off over time, especially in my household where we share one TV commonly. However portables can end up being quite costly if you aim for the most comfort! Sure, I have a steady income and I'm currently living under my parent's roof to save up enough to move out and it's all well within my budget. Even so, I might have a bit of a problem.
First it started off with a screen protector for obvious reasons. All was well till I I wanted some grips for better comfort. Found the Satisfye case included with its amazing grip! Bought a wire controller for my nephew because the joycons were too small and precious to me. Went on to buy a pro controller (Smash edition) and third party wireless controller since I'm too scared watching my nephew really tug on the wire while playing. All was well... Until my sister moved to a place nearby and now I'm tasked to care of some kids she's babysitting. Suddenly I'm in need of a case that can fit my dock and everything else in. Tried a slim travel case, but I had to remove the Joycons each time and it winded up scratching my dock with its cheap material. Didn't work out so onto a bigger foam-fit travel case! Excellent for everything officially made by Nintendo! But cumbersome when you have other third party accessories you can't fit in. So I searched for a backpack. Found one but it's meant for college, not gaming. It has enough space and I don't plan traveling with it far... But boy am I hesistant to say "it's perfect"! This is the process I went through for efficient travelling and I'm still going through it!!
As for other types of accesories, I also got a good $200 headset. Excellent audio and expected since I didn't cheap out on the quality! Thankfully it has a case included, but now I want a Bluetooth headset even if I have to sacrifice the quality. Why? Can't comfortably use my couch since it's positioned far from the TV. Probably will go with an extension cable... That would be an easy choice if I lived on my own. How about extra storage for my game cards? The Satisfye case has room for 24 cards! As I said, it's a very good case. But I ran out of my space not too long ago and, while the storage is useful, it's cumbersome having to zip open the case and hold a flap just to pull one cart out. Looking into a game card carrying case... Stylus? I have a spare apple one. That'll do for now. Charging stand? Looking into it as I don't want to shove my controllers into a plastic shopping bag...
Most of this journey was mainly for convenience or function. How about stuff for the sake of aesthetics? Oh boy, I have a lot in my wish list! But above are my priorities... I'm a bit scared tallying the total investment I've put into my Switch. I don't wanna even think about the pro being talked about in the rumours... Sorry, just wanted to get this off my chest.
Overall gaming was a major part of my childhood and still is today. I was always told I would grow out of it, but here I am in my twenties still gaming. Not as much as before but I'm still at it! Now if only I can convince my nephew to try other games besides Fortnite...

OH MY GODDDDD I'm screamingggg I had the pikachu gameboy advanced when I was tiny and I cryed so hard when it stopped working. It was my first console.
Personally I don't think the New 3DS XL's TN panels are all that bad - the viewing angles are decent enough for handheld play (unlike the DS Lite or especially the original DS - my goodness that had dreadful screens!), and they don't crush dark areas like the IPS panels do. I also loved the design of the original 3DS, the Aqua Blue in particular is beautiful! Shame about the battery life though - that was the reason why I upgraded to the N3DS XL specifically as it had the best battery of all 3DS models.

My first ds was a pink lite too. That's the only color Walmart had at the time and I couldn't wait. I was probably 10 at the time, and for months I couldn't afford any actual ds games. Until pearl came put and I used my birthday money to get it because I was 10. And holy crap did pearl get me addicted to pokemon

Huh, My Hyrule new 3DS XL also is Dual IPS. I didn't specifically hunt for it or anything. I just happened to get it back in the day. Never really understood why people cared so much until I picked up the Black Friday new 3DS (the small one with black Mario face plates) and turned it on to see 2 TN panels after being used to IPS on my 3DS and nearly every other display in my life...now I get it.
I own 53 different Nintendo’s now (55 including duplicates), and my collection is still not complete so yes I agree, Nintendo has taken over my life too

I got my og 3ds xl when i was 9 on christmas 2011 and im still with it to dis dayyy
My nintendo story started with a 3ds. I LOVED the thing...until one day, I lost it at church. I was DEVASTATED...then came my 3ds xl, not NEW 3ds xl, just 3ds xl. Then I got something besides Nintendo for the first time...the PS4! After my little sister broke my 3ds xl, I never saw the light of mobile consoles again... until one Christmas day, where my dream came true! I got a Nintendo switch!
After that, no more consoles for me...until just a week ago, I saw the 2ds xl with pre loaded Mario kart and BEGGED my grandma for it, and she said yes! But, I have to wait for a SPECIAL credit card for her that will have $300 on it.

I think you should start from old consoles. In my time, my classmate had a PSP which is $200 dollars that time. So they brought me an Gameboy Advanced SP which is $60 and yes, it didn't disappoint me. Just saying New Isn't Always Better.
Here’s an unpopular opinion: Super Mario Odyssey is my least favorite Mario game. Super Mario Galaxy is my favorite by far, even though I prefer the 2d games
If I may ask, why don't you like Odyssey as much as the other Mario games?

My story began with the Wii and ds, in my life I had 2 Wii consoles and a ds that I lost, my Wii didn’t work with just dance 2014 (I was obsessed with JD) so my mum got me one on Facebook for £20 with 2 games, tony hawk pro skater and Ferrari challenge, the fuse broke and it would crash whenever I tried to play a game so it was only a horoscope console, so we stopped using it, the old Wii was modded but my young self deleted the game folder thing on the Wii and I still regret it to this day lol... I got a 3DS but only had mario party, then mum got me mysims and my step dad got me this theme park game, my first 3DS game was Pokemon moon in 2016, I chose popplio and beat the game without losing a single battle, I got a switch for Xmas in 2017 and had Lego worlds and pokken tournament, now I have them and Pokemon shield, I chose scorbunny and, again, beat it without losing, 3 times but 1 was a nuzlocke but I only lost my arcanine. There’s way more to know but this comment is getting kinda long

have you tried pokemon rom-hacks? " Pokemon Unbound" just came out, it has a whole new region, quest-system & log, heaps of QoL improvements like an item that lets you use HMs, as opposed to needing HM slaves. Renegade Platinum & Radical Red are other ones too
I never owned any Nintendo console actually I’ve owned other types of consoles like ps4,ps3 etc. consoles but not a Nintendo console.
