👀 Please Read Before Commenting. I've got some stick for making this review, so I'd like to clarify a few things:
    1) Flextail did not say this was a prototype, only the nozzle was subject to change. In fact all Flextail have done is swap out the battery for one with a charging port!
    2) I fully charged the device before filming the review!
    3) Flextail asked for an honest review, and that is what they got, I reviewed what was sent to me! On the day before the videos were meant to go live, Flextail advised they changed the battery. Hence why I had to quickly add an extra part to the review.
I have no issues with Flextail, they reimbursed me for the additional charger I had to buy and I've always worked with them on the basis that my reviews are honest. I genuinely love the Tiny Pump X2 and that's the pump I'll continue to use!
    Cheers
    Robin

Just received my Zero Pump (Dec 6, 2023) and there is still no micro-USB socket to recharge the battery. Flextail did, handily (?), include a USB>micro USB cable, but there's no port on the device itself to plug it in to.
I don't have a separate battery charger - and can't afford to buy one at the moment - so my unit is already useless. Exceptionally disappointed.

WELL DONE 👍👍 This is the first review of this pump I have watch without screening at the PC
everyone who's reviewed this has skipped over the fact that you can't charge it while camping so it's bloody rubbish unless you buy and carry a big charger.
However, after what you found out at the end this isn't the pump they're going to ship.
Well even if they do add a USB in my opinion it's too little too late, and to tell the truth, when I clicked on your video I was all ready to leave a comment saying (yes but you cant charge it) Glad I watched your whole video first lol.

Just a note as someone who got a beta version as well: the Nitecore battery that they sent me with the demo unit was nearly out of charge when I got it. I needed to charge it completely before writing about the unit.

I've a Thermarest Neoair Xlite and already have the inflation bag. It takes less than a minute to inflate. I don't find the work of inflating an issue, even after lots of miles and looks like electric pumps take longer than the bag to get the bed inflated. In the morning, it's easy to remove the last pockets of air by folding -maybe takes a couple of minutes to pack away and I guess is minimal extra work over using an electric pump.
In addition, I use the inflation bag to keep my Xlite, pillow &c as protection in my bag. I also occasionally use the Xlite plus bag to make a comfy seat.
So I don't plan to buy a Tiny or Zero anytime soon.

Can't say I see the lack of port as a serious issue. It's using a pretty standard CR123 size battery, which you can just swap in a fresh one yourself, or use an RCR123 with the port on the side if you want something rechargeable on the go (which usually has less capacity as a result). Only disappointing part is that they didn't make an even beefier 18650 version.

the last thing you want to do is carry extra batteries or a separate battery charger, plus, even the latest version where you can plug usb c into the recharge battery, that is still a hassle since you have to remove the cap, take out the battery to charge. they could have achieved the same thing by having an internal battery with usb c port. I think they got fixated on making this have a replaceable battery.

@@WalkWithWallace did they say it was tester and that it was still in crowd funding? They haven't pushed it out, but seems there has been some miscommunication on Flextail's part by not pointing out that these weren't even available yet except on crowdfuding. Others that reviewed noted it was in crowd funding stage, which implies that it is not prime time, or at least wasn't up to this month for mass production. Flextail obviously listened to the testers that it gave these things for free, since they include an option for recharg battery with usb c; however, even that is rather clumsy. seems like the work spent making a fancy box would have been better spent sending the usb battery, oh well, guess we'll wait and see. The battery will have been shipped part charged, so it should do more inflations than you found.. maybe. I use the tiny; 91g with a 1300mAh battery, will do over 2 weeks without a charge. Taking that battery specs can be a bit made up, it's really only the run time that counts, and as it stands it's a no from me. I did think the pump was slowing when you tested it, so maybe a repeat when flextail send you a full spec battery that's charged. I like the smaller size and weight, but not that much. I had a look for USB battery on the nitecore website, looks like an extra 1.3g for that (NL1665R) version, they also list the NL169 950mAh battery for an extra 2.2g, but without the USB.

Just received my Zero Pump (Dec 6, 2023) and there is still no micro-USB socket to recharge trhe battery. They did, handily (?), include a USB>micro USB cable, but there's no port on the device itself to plug it in to.
It takes some kind of logic to go to the expense of adding a useless accessory.

A question you might ask Flextail about this specific product: Since the rechargeable battery is removable, would consumers be able to use different capacity batteries in the pump? The battery they've sent you is 650mAh? Nitecore had 5000mAh batteries in the market. Would those be compatible with this pump? Imagine carrying one of these pumps with 2 batteries rated at 5000mAh, each one the size of an AA battery, and the pump can also charge your phone ... that'll be a game changer.

I have just upgraded to the V2 but not had a chance to get out with it yet. I would not bother with this if I need to keep weight down, I use my schnozzel sack as I dont bother with a lantern, just a head torch. Ok the schnozzel sack does not way nothing but my sleeping bag, xped and clean clothes are all staying dry inside it, if they were not they would probably be in a dry bag anyway. The battery on this new pump would need to last longer in my opinion too, I would worry that the cold would drain it faster etc. Excellent review Robin it's great hearing an honest opinion and not just someone saying what they think a brand wants them to say to get more freebies.
