My wife had a similar experience with a Cobra as Wilma did. My wife is also terrified of any kind of snakes, and she is a neat nick as well, it must be part of the experience. My wife and I are in Poblacion Compostela, Davao De Oro. and we have been doing construction projects since we bought our property 27 years ago. Next month we will be moving from the USA permanently to our retirement home.
Yep several types of pythons can climb trees…even an 18 inch one. My best hunch is your tree trimming is where the python came from. Doubt he was already curled in tile box…box got moved so much it would have been triggered to escape…so Wilma is right to be on the lookout for “big momma”! Stay safe.
Maybe put some ceramic tiles on top of the roof to the front? Maybe it will help to keep it clean, particularly if you slope them back onto the roof slightly, to help rainwater not run down the facade at the front

Have you thought about planting lemon grass all around your property to help keep the snakes away. Plus, it makes the yard look nicer. Beware of solar blankets on your pool too long. The extreme heat it generates will burn out your Clorene faster. Make sure your ph is about 7.2 to keep a good balance. Add a good algaecide once a week or as needed just to maintain a clean pool. Your home and yard are beautiful. Wilma has the Midas touch in landscaping. If I were to build a home in the Philippines, I'd use your home as my footprint.
Consider screen mesh on posts around your pool , for solar protection and shade. Use sea salt Celtic or Flint - for water treatment. UV rated mesh screen - synthetic, or metal fine wire mesh.
I've live in silang cavite, like you we back on to jungle 😂, used to have snake troubles, all kinds, cobras even a correl snake one time anyway solved the problem with Jackrussel terriers, yes they kill snakes rats and anything else that enters the property

What you might do is get a baby snake and let her raise it as a pet. Feed it and after a few days pet it near its tail, then pet it nearer its head over a few days. Maybe you can find a snake that eats cobras when they are large enough. Name him Bong Bong.
That might work for some people, what you’re not getting is even the SIGHT of a snake PHYSICALLY effects her. PTSD is a real thing! ANY TRAUMA can create it. No contest of who is effected be it war or other experiences, it’s real. It’s more than what we call a phobia if you seek the definition of both. Now, I’m a snake teacher, rather was. I love snakes, but I’m also very cautious know and understand how they act. I know how to protect others while on a hike for instance. Therapy is often out of the question too for some. Female Burmese pythons can easily lay about 50 eggs. So if it's a local snake then you are going to see a lot of it's siblings in the future. The big ones stick mostly to the ground but the babies are very arboreal.
me too scared of snakes even just watching on tv. lol! could be hiding from those big rocks. i remember when my parents house in cebu we have big rocks filled behind our kitchen snakes everywhere

I'll gladly send you the clouds and rain from Pampanga, Greg! Yesterday was the first time I saw a shadow in over a week! We've been getting pounded by this continuous Habagat (southwestern monsoonal flow) that has been focused on central to northern Luzon. That snake likely came from the hardware store. I assume they stack their tile boxes flat, and not on edge, like you? It would be easy for a baby snake to get into a small Crack like the flap of the box. Who knows? If you don't see any more around there, I'd go with the above situation? I haven't seen a snake yet, since I've been here. But I've been in cities and towns mostly, and rarely in the wilds. 🤔 That's fine with me if I don't see one... 😂🤣

Building right on the property line is common. The Balinese people have a saying that applies in the Philippines as well. "Unless you own everything you can see in all directions, your view will eventually change and not for the better".
She really is afraid of snakes. We will keep yard really free of hiding spaces. Native marigolds and lemon grass helps repel snakes. Wall helps as well. Appreciate the comment.

The Reticulated Python is the only species of python native to the Philippines. However, irresponsible breeders have illegally started to import Ball Pythons into the country with the intent to breed and sale the babies for profit. The good news is that breeding success of the Ball Python is so low that it hasn't had any impact there. In fact, most breeders in the Philippines stick with breeding the native Reticulated Python. The overwhelming majority of snakes hanging around in trees throughout the Philippines is the Leyte Cat Snake of which is only very mildly venomous and the Philippines Scrub Snake of which is not at all harmful to humans.

You should remove EVERYTHING you have on the concrete. Put shelves up and clear the rack of stuff shown in your video, or you will have a snake issue in the future. We had a show rack similar to the rack shown in your video, snake (cobra) found inside a shoe.
jackfruit attracts mice and rats which in turn attract snakes .baby python is a constrictor and wont hurt ya.. momma python can get ya but they usually will slither away . pit vipers and cobras on the other hand are bad news .. a healthy fear and respect of snakes is a good thing .. wilma is a smart cookie either way ..a sharp stick will help for protection .

@TheMerlioness our subdivision road is dirt and stone. The rest of road is all concreted. 12 minutes to Dauin proper, 35 minutes to Dumaguete.

I don't like snakes either, and all I ever see here in Central Indiana is garter snakes😢 They can stay away, I was even raised on a farm.

Snakes are okay with me as they control vermin; however, Cobras gotta go, Pythons are okay. Of course, since I have pet snakes, I may be a bit biased.

Makes sense with the tree. Definitely a fear, I don't like them either. Certain plants help repel, dog running around can't hurt. We will overcome.
