Great Tag Danni! This is definitely my thing, so would love to do the tag! Swan Song might be prominent in some of my responses.😄 I loved The Haar and David Sodergren, some of his other books are more brutal. The elderly, female character in the Haar is so awesome. The Haunting Of Velkwood is high priority on my tbr. Wow, I will have to give some serious thought to prompt 7. Congrats on 1K, so awesome! 🦇

I really want to read Maggie's Grave by Sodergren, but my library doesn't have a copy. I'm hoping that with his growth in popularity, they might pick it up. They just purchased the rights for The Haar, so I'm hopeful his books will become more available. You'll have to tell me what you think of The Haunting of Velkwood. It's definitely light on the horror components in my opinion (at least on the gore spectrum). I think it focuses a lot on tension and intrigue, which I quite enjoy. Can't wait to see your tag! Thanks!

Good to hear your answers. I've added The Haunting of Velkwood to my list.I like the sound of the horror story you created. I'd definitely read it. And congratulations on 1000 subs - very well deserved!
My setting is an abandoned house or building in an isolated location, perhaps even a disused underground military base hidden in a forest (might as well have all the cliches covered :)). The subgenre is mystery, making the reader the question whether the events are supernatural, down to human mischief or all in the mind. The MC is a podcaster and her small team. The conflict is that the podcaster has met with somebody in an online forum who has provided them with 'evidence' of strange disappearances at the location above and the team agree to meet up with them to investigate. The companion is a dog or cat that tags along with them, a stray found at the site where there is no other animal life. The story is revealed through a collection of transcribed personal audio files, told in chronological order, but interspersed with mixed media such as interviews, newspaper clippings and messages that have to be put into context by the reader. The special edition contains links to found footage video and sound files from recorders set up around the house, to make the experience more immersive. Who is the narrator? How did they get all the material? Who was in the forum? Are all the podcast crew who they claim to be? Why do some of the transcribed accounts differ? Is there an account too many or too few? Does the tone of one account change part way through? Did they solve the puzzle? Did they make it out? Did something make it out? Is it even real? Have I spent too much time thinking about it?

I hope you love The Haunting of Velkwood! Thank you!
Oh my gosh!! I LOVE the story you created. It gave me goosebumps. 😱 I love a podcast vibe in a creepy story. Also, the mystery component is calling my name. I freaking love when a story makes me question if things are really happening. It is such an amazing and mind-bending feeling. The mixed media components are so fun. I love that it is left to the reader to figure out the context and why things are important. I think my favorite thing you've added is the special edition. The fact that these recorders exist and make the story more "messy." They would bring even more suspense and confusion within the storyline. This is absolutely fantastic!!
