The "Boss" of amplifiers! 🤣 I actually bought the "Boss" amplifier wiring kit for my Pioneer set-up, and I was a little nervous about using them, but it's ofc wire & so far, so good! The price was just too tempting for me to pass up. Great vid bud. 👍🏻
I think that given the fact that Boss amps are not going to deliver, its fun to see by how much they fail. I see all these reviews on amazon and some swear these amps put out the power. I know they don't. But these videos are great because they show exactly how much they put out in reality. Its hilarious. Sometimes I feel that the manufacturer already knows that we know they do not put out even half of the power. So its more like an inside joke. lol.
You guys are great, I mean I deal with goofballs all the time (I’m a mechanic and I do car audio) why do people have such bad information about car audio I mean it’s so aggravating to try and explain or even listen to ignorant idiots who believe that any of these amps are actually worth even taking the to install. Did you tell the person trying to drive 2 hours to buy that Xtreme "5k", the tests you run are facts= not your opinion. The #s are what they are. I understand being up front, & honest, but when people get sh**y with me, i would have been like you know what, your right, come get this "5k", its right up your alley😁😂.

Next time just to see if these yahoos really know what they are talking about, you should have said, tell me how you had each voice coil hooked up, and how they ran the wires to the amp. I have found a lot of people don't know how to series voice coils. They just run all Positives together, and all negatives together. This tool wouldn't have know what hit his subwoofers if he would have bought that Ocean 1200 from you😁

@stereomojo , could you dyno the CT Sounds CT-80.4AB? I've never seen it on a dyno run on any channel . I personally run one in my Tacoma pushing 4 JBL GTO door speakers, and it's pushing the snot out of them with no distortion ( tuned with my O scope ) . I'd love too see the numbers on it . The specs show 4×80w at 4 ohm , 4×120w @ 2 ohms , and 2×160 @4ohms . It has 2 , 35amp fuses . I think that it's pushing more than claimed . It's $130 on Amazon and I think that this thing is flying under the radar as a great 4 channel amp . I should have put this in my original post. It's also capable of running 2 door speakers and 1 sub .
Funny how people still buy Boss and Crunch amps when there are lots of other budget brands that make they're power or exceed it. Got a Jensen XDA91RB that makes it's power and I think at the time I got it for $89 at Walmart. I also have the Topstrongear TSG 1100 that pushes out 1500 watts rms at 1 ohm and it was only $20 more than the Jensen.
@@stereomojo I also came across Taramps Bass 800 2ohm for $140, man back in the day you would have spent two to three times that price for an amp making similar power.
@@stereomojo Don't get me started on subs lol, I'm a fan of the Skar SDR and IX series very decent and very affordable I have a couple of set of 8's in both series. Another very decent sub is the Rockville w65k9 6.5 subwoofers you wouldn't think a sub that size puts out a lot of power but it does, I have a pair of them in the Rockville ported box in the back of my 99 Trans am good space saver and people think ur running 12's. You can get those for like $65 each and the box is about $60 too.
Have you ever done a dyno on a Lanzar Vector VCT-2210?? I am curious how it would stand up to it's advertised rating of 2000 watt. Thanks for the videos!!!
Almost. Most headunits use chip amps and battery 12v. This one used chip amps, but had transformers to bump up the voltage. This gives a little higher output.
@@stereomojoThe few head units I've tested all did around 8 volts RMS which at 4 Ohms is about 13 to 15 watts. (They typically can't do 2 ohm) That's about the most you can get from a 12v source. This is non-clipped output. Some manufacturers will rate their headunit output at 20% distortion to inflate the power numbers.
I can imagine you talking that guy into one of your Welsh 2K amps. He'd say it blew all 4 doors off! Plus the hood! Lol In all likelihood he'd just burn up his subs. He's probably better off with low-powered equipment.

Some beginners are such know-it-alls you can't explain things to them. Definitely clipped it to death and the Crunch amp is garbage. I try to be patient but sometimes it just gets old. I make huge posts on FB for obvious beginners that have questions but wont deal with the ones that start acting like jerks. Just went rounds with a guy who swore a ported enclosure tuned at 40hz can play 15hz just fine, it gets a peak at tuning but can play any frequency and sound good. The only reason I bother to reply is I am afraid some other beginner will see it and end up with busted subs Its a shame to think how many people were put off of car audio because of BOSS. Never seen a Boss amp put out even a quarter of its claimed power.

I'm having to change the 2x 15s from Free Air to a sealed enclosure. Plus, I've added 2x 12" power acoustic to my Orion mono D. I'm having trouble with the Free Air.... the low sound waves are just too long... Also, my 2x 8" subs are here and the 4x 8" Harmony midbass came in too. (I might try and record what I'm doing. It's just I have so much to do.... recording may slow me up). Andddd, I didn't notice until yesterday. My 2x 6x9's are done. Idk how... @stereomojo I've built boxes for others if they asked but I don't promote. Normally I just build a box for the sub I'm using so if I sell it the box goes too. But I've done a Truck build for a 2005 silverado. And I've sold three other boxes
Boss has always been junk. Back in the day, we used to say rollin like a boss. Then it was the same sound. A couple subs in an inaccurate box, distorted low sounding front stage and the bass that sound like an old blown kraco speaker

All Boss products are a ripoff at any price point, period. This one is especially pathetic since someone is going to pay $80 for the power provided by any aftermarket head unit. Those are not step up power supply transformers on the board. The power output of the amp is what any amp chip produces when fed 12 to 14 volts.
