The 'Love Gracie' Official Documentary
Вставка
- Опубліковано 6 жов 2024
- At the young age of 64, Gracie Jane Genereux took decades of experience as a bartender and as an artist and decided to open her own bar. Not wanting it to be 'normal', she proceeded to cover every corner, table, chair and more with her art.
Truly a bar like no other in the world, located in St. Albert, Alberta. With only $17 to her name on the day she opened her bar, she had no where to go but up. Through more challenges in life than most could ever handle, Gracie has faced them head on and wrapped them in love and optimism.
You’ll love her passion and her refusal to quit even when life threw obstacles that would stop many in their tracks. A heart filled with love, art, music and community.
The Love Gracie documentary follows her story at the bar, her home studio and a cast of characters in and around Gracie’s life. An explosion of pop culture paintings adorn almost every corner of her world and creates a stunning backdrop for the film.
This is her story.
The 'Love Gracie' film was produced by Road 55. Led by Rob LeLacheur and senior producer Trevor Cousineau, the team at Road 55 enjoyed this project on so many levels.
Sincere thanks to all of the amazing supporters and Gracie's community who supported this project from its inception to the amazing premiere night at the Arden Theatre in St. Albert.

I can’t begin to thank everyone who helped with the documentary there is no words to describe how I feel much appreciated and thankyou for all the comments well wishes and keeping my little business of love passion determination on board
Love, love, love your art and you... What a beautiful and inspirational person you are🎉❤

Thank you for sharing your life and love and art with us all 💖
we love you Gracie! Signed, Chatty Lisa from Siriusxm 70s on 7 and play 107.1 FM in Edmonton! XOXOX
@@lisaevans3610thankyou so much it was such an honour to meet you
I found this documentary by surprise. I have so much in common with you Gracie but you are 20x more passionate about everything! I’m so in Awe of you, your Art, your enthusiasm and your whole story! I am 71, am a die hard Beatle fan. I saw Paul McCartney when I was 50. I’m an artist too. When I was a teenager living in a hick town in Texas I painted flower power flowers on my wall, and the baseboards. I’m a hoarder of potential junk to refurbish. When I turned 68 I was DX with Cancer but I’m in remission for 3 yrs now. I’m happy you are a Cancer Survivor/Warrior! Keep on painting! Thank you for the inspiration!

What a beautiful story of a beautiful life!! I shed many tears watching this because it reminded me of who I used to be. I did not have the support you had, instead I was told I should just stop all the nonsense and get a job, and I did. I have been plugging along at a job for 29 years. It has stolen who I am, all my bright light and made me an unhappy soul.. I think it is time I go looking for the girl I lost. You are amazing Miss Gracie, much Love!!!
You are my soul sister! Love you!
Gracie, I live miles away but the internet has allowed me to meet you. We share alot from personality to an adventurous life. I'm proud to have met you. Keep on keeping on Sista!
Thank you
I’m proud to hear such a beautiful comment
Can anyone explain how this woman has so much energy? Truly incredible.
I’m just in passion mode to get my art done I guess it’s my determination and I love having a finished piece so I can make my next one I have so many ideas and things I want to accomplish before I die
@@GracieGenereux I'm 71 and don't have half the energy you do. I also have many projects going but spend more time thinking than doing because I just run out of power. I admire your stamina.🌻
@@katellaI’m on a mission get it done and be happy

Greetings from Wales, UK! Wish I lived near enough to visit your amazing bar! Every town should have a Gracie! You are an inspiration!
We love Gracie!! She's simply amazing. This is a fantastic documentary. !!!
So stunning and beautiful. What a transformative experience.
Gracie, I share the sorrow of a Son not here any longer in our realm, but within all of us do our children live on.
💙💛💜. Xxxx
It’s the hardest thing in the world to deal with but my art keeps me motivated and happy
I also know this blackness of losing a child. I'm always impressed by those who find the strength to smile and go on...
Your quite a person Gracie....your one of those people who actually appreciate the fact of being born. Something tells me that your mother sincerely loved you and never clipped even the smallest of wings as you were growing up...Take care Gracie, it's been a pleasure to have " met" you even if it was through a screen.
Thankyou so much for your support and kind words
I loved this documentary. Thank you so much for sharing Gracie's life story.
Thank you for showing this film and all that is possible because of Gracie ❤
What a wonderful life, a lovely woman, and a terrific story. You are the absolute model of what I want to be when I grow up... not far behind you in years but so far behind you in making my creative loves a reality. Thank you for the kick in the butt, Dear Gracie! And thank you and those who made this film for sharing your beautiful world.
Thankyou for such a lovely comment I will never grow old I love life and people I am blessed with so many friends and I can’t stop my creativity it keeps growing and I have so much to do thankyou for inspiring me road 55 are very kind and talented people

So thankful this showed up repeatedly until I dove in and experienced the awesomeness - our world needs more creative communities like the one Gracie created so far from my home. Rock on you inspired and inspiring spirit creation! ✌️❤🌈🦄
Thankyou ever so much for your support and kindness
Watched this from the Netherlands. What an incredible amazing strong person and artist. And what a lovely community. Rare to see. Lovely to see in these times where people are becoming less social and open. Chances are small that i would be able to visit, but who knows someday. ❤
Ik ook.. Inderdaad fantastisch om te zien..! En probeer evt. je eigen communities te creeeren! (bv. zonder phones e.a.)
I go to St Albert a lot because my mom (88) lives there. I'm in Edmonton. 4 kids in my family, and we all went to O'Leary. I was born in 56. I'm going to stop by sometime. 😊
Oh my goodness, I’m so excited to embark on this journey. Before I got past the credits I shared with two others, imploring them to check it out sometime as I’m not fond of the typical social scene and I shared to FB. I can’t wait to go there. But first…….Gracie.
Amazing story of Gracie's life up to now. Love her art. Very talented! God bless you Gracie.
Now this is what is called Free Spirit. My way of living.
Thankyou so very much for your support and comment
Well done. Very inspirational and colourful.

What an incredible gifted beautiful soul. I'm not a person that like a lot of stuff in my home but her home just brings a peace to my heart just looking at it. Good Documentary!!!
Gracie has to be the tidiest, most organized hoarder I have ever seen in my life...
I like to think I’m organized with an abundance of resources art supplies I think I don’t have enough lol
@@GracieGenereux Ur definitely not a hoarder but resourceful. Anyone who knows a hoarder can clearly see that your not. Hoarding is an illness. You are a most dazzling, inspiring and brilliant Spirit!

What an amazing doco, love Gracie , family and friends, beautiful souls❤
"Like being in a dream..." This woman inspired me at a time when I badly need inspiration. I came away thinking: remember who you are? Why are you hanging all these things that other people painted on your walls? Hang YOUR stuff, for Pete's sake. That husband is a gem, and she deserves him.
Thank you so very much
Very inspiring! Thank you❤
A one of a kind gathering place, just like you Gracie ❤
Gracie you really are a true inspiration, you’ve cheered a very grey day in Germany! I wish you continued heath and happiness ✨💕💜♥️❤️💕
Oh, my! Gracie better get working on a bunch more chairs, because I have a feeling there’s a whole new community that just discovered her and will be making their way to Saint Albert!
What a life story! It’s all so brilliant in the love, and struggle, and heartbreak, combined with the multiple rise from the ashes creativity she overflows with no matter what; proves the resilience of the human spirit and the need to have a voice of self expression to share with the world. It has to add to the collective of all the artistic energy that we all have the ability to take in and to create something from whatever space we’re in no matter what that ma be. It doesn’t matter how broken or ugly or gloomy things get for us, we can take it and create something beautiful, and wanted and loved. This is the healing we all need so desperately. Thank you ❤
Thankyou so very much for such a beautiful comment much appreciated and kind
❤
Oh Gracie I fell in love with you with you at first sight!!! Your uniqueness reminds me of my older sister that passed away. Growing up she I always love to go in her bedroom as a little girl she it was so cool to me. She would have records hanging from the ceiling velvet hats with feathers, beads everywhere and her clothes were just as unique. She was definitely a Janice Joplin Stevie Nicks Jefferson Starship smoke some weed kind of girl. Drugs finally took her life but she lived out her way until the end. I send you love from a mom who's also lost a son to another. The person I was changed 9-2-23 my Aaron was 28yrs old he took his last breath as I was hugging him. Her loved me more than anyone ever has or will..... You inspire me so much I love boho, gypsy style I also don't want to wear something everyone else is wearing. Since Aaron passed I have social anxiety and I stay home but I have just taught myself to recycle clothes and sew and I'm loving it. But I just wanted to let you know keep on keeping on and I just love you you touch my heart and I love the wonderful love you have lived and I love your yard your house your clothes your bar your friends your beautiful daughter when your husband😂... Have a wonderful day🦋
To Gracie and her entirety of evolution of life well lived. Teach love sadness strength struggles and love comes full circle with great colorful laughter and light.💛🥰😊💛💛💛 What a wonderful beautiful life shared with us all.
Thank you so much for such a lovely comment

What a pleasure to be introduced to Gracie through this this film which was a delight to to watch. Her are is just wonderful and clearly a reflection of a vibrant spirit and unique character. Best wishes from North Hollywood, California.
Thank you Netherlands
You’ve put lots of detail and colour into your work . Lots of fabric , materials for texture and you go with your flow . You’ve done what I’ve never been able to . When I retire I will start my art work shop . I love using unconventional materials plus the mix of colours . I like the cup paint layering method . Using a cake decoration wheel , hair dryer , blow torch , dripping style .
I use chalk and oil pencils . I can’t draw well but I can make a piece with texture and movement in it from blending oil pastels and chalk . You’re very true to yourself . It’s awesome . Great fashion too. You’re versatile and resilient. An amazing person . Took the plunge .
Thankyou so very much for your support
What an inspiration! Living life to the fullest!
Ok this is fantastic! Thank you for making this. What a wonderful life story of art and creativity and resilience.
The title of this documentary is very apt. We all Love Gracie...and she loves everybody right back. I'm glad the world now has a chance to see who she is and what she's done with her incredible life. I'm proud to know this amazing woman. ❤ you Gracie!
Enjoyed this so much. So sorry for the loss of your son. Losing a child no matter how adult they are really sucks.

I live in New Hampshire and art is also my passion. I hope one day I get to meet this beautiful artist!! What an awesome story of a remarkable lady!! I should also mention I share the loss of my son and three brothers. Art has been my way to relieve the pain I've had to endure. It's heart wrenching.

Thankyou so much for your support and comment life is for us to live and love
This just popped up on my YT feed and I am SO glad I watched it. Gracie Jane ... you are truly a one-of-a-kind remarkable gal. If I lived anywhere close to your bar instead of on Vancouver Island, I would absolutely be darkening your doorway! This old gal tips her hat to you and the incredible inspiration you are to all around you and those who are fortunate enough to have seen this documentary.
Gracie is embracing and utilizing to the max all the sweet and wonderful gifts she was given from GOD. I can see how much she appreciates everyone and everything and can also see how deeply she is loved and respected by her daughter, when she talks about her mom I can see how proud she is of mom....I can see why folks are all drawn to Gracie, it's her positive energy....I wish Gracie, her family, and her entire community continued love and good health!
ps: I just lost my great love "my husband" to leukemia....please pray for me...thank you sincerely as I feel torn.
