  • Das André Weiß Trio (mit dem Leader am Piano, Dominik Raab am Schlagzeug und Jean-Philippe Wadle am Bass) begleitete den amerikanischen Tenor-Saxophonisten Ralph Moore und bot "Straight ahead"-Jazz auf immer hohem instrumentalem und musikalischem Niveau,
    Im Video eine Ballade, Moore überzeugte aber auch in den Up-tempo-Nummern mit seinem ebenso druckvollen wie warmen Ton.

    Peace, Horace Silver. I had the great good fortune to meet Ralph many years ago. He used my practise room to practise while he was in our town .. He was incredible disciplined. He'd put in a good solid 6 hours of really focused practise and then go do a three hour gig that evening. I recorded his practise sessions, to play for some of my students at the time, as a demo of what you have to do to get to be that good on your instrument. He struck me as being a really humble, genuine human being. I hope he's well and Ralph mate if ever you're back in town, there's always a place for you to kip at our 'ome albeit everso 'umble if ya need it..

    Ralph Moore is one of the best saxophonist to come in the last 40 years. You can hear the influence of the great Coltrane in his playing. Saw him with ceadar Walton and art farmer in 1996 at the bluenote.
