- Heres the Olsen twins on a shopping channel at age 5 in 1991 selling their talking Michelle doll.This is not complete and just shows some of what they were like at this age.Notice that one or two callers are adults doing their best to sound like a little kid.This is from my collection.
Poor girls they look so tired and bored. But working since you were 9 months old I probably would be like that too.
They were exhausted they were making films and music videos and recording music non stop
Ik they even had bags under their eyes

The kids look so tired, they shouldnt have made them do this interview=( It was sweet though how Mary Kate said her idol was Jodie, wonder if Jodie ever saw this. I also feel like it would be scary and awqward for strangers to talk to them directly like they were on the phone calls. They are little kids and don’t understand fully that they are famous. They don’t know why some stranger wants to talk to them or what to even say to them.
It's incredibly sad they were working those girls into the ground

Ever since they were little, Ashley has done the majority of the speaking in their interviews.
mary-kate was very shy when she was little, ashley talked a lot more, thats not mary-kate’s fault, she was always nervous about talking to people she doesn’t know she was just a kid.
This was beyond cringe worthy. I completely understand why they now utterly reject the media!!
It’s a life that was forced on them . As you can see they were little girls that wanted to play with toys and have a normal childhood. Forced to be on tv while they wanted to have a nap for example. It’s not how a kid should live really.
They should've started acting at an older age so that they could have a normal childhood like playing with toys and being little kids so they could've still acted just when they were older
And why they look so unhappy
Guys don't forget they had school, acting lesions, acting and interviews so that is why they are tired.
Yeah and they also did sports after school when they were a little older
They had no chance to be normal kids.

They remind me of the kids at my school. There's always that one class that bores you or stresses you out so you sit there, exhausted, wanting to just go home already. Poor girls, I don't blame them for not wanting to act anymore.

The best thing about the Olsen Twins is that even though they were very very famous and rich they were calm and not bratty or anything. You know they seem very grounded and humble
poor girls I'm a mom and I know kids get tired and moody normally if they need a nap and they do look tired and forced to be there. they didn't have a normal childhood...had to work as children to make their family money. soo sad.

These poor kids were so over worked and the adults said we asked them of they wanted to film and they said yes.
Their entire childhood they had to sell this idea of "If we didn't like it, we would stop!" but they weren't actually allowed to stop. That's why they didn't actually stop till they were 18 -- the moment they had legal control over their lives, they STOPPED.

This is really sad to watch. Poor babies. They should be out at the park playing and instead they are working and being exploited. I love Mary Kate and Ashley and so glad they are doing their own things now in private.

I remember wanting one when I was little. They're worth sooooo much money now! Can't even find them in vintage stores anymore. I wish I had gotten one as a kid. I remember $50 was a lot back in the 90s mom said no for that reason. Lol
Nicole Watson I hated when I wanted something for $50 and instead got 5 cheap things I didn't care about. I would of ratcheted just got the doll and candy for Xmas instead of cheaper presents just because ..they all added up the same in the end..

God this is so sad and wrong. I grew up with Mary-Kate and Ashley and was obsessed with them like all girls back in the 90s. Now looking at these clips it just hits me how fucking exploited they truly were. Ugh. So glad they got the hell away from Hollywood and don't have anything to do with social media.

I'm a doll collector. I'm surprised, as twins and huge fans of the show my sister and I were not given Michelle dolls when we were little. I've seen them now on E-bay but have chosen not to get one because they were not dressed like Michelle. Unlike in this special where the doll and the girls are wearing matching outfits, the Michelle Doll came dressed in jeans and a t-shirt with almost a western like fringe. Hardly the cutesy, girly-like image Michelle always wore for the show.
when I first saw this I wanted to have. one too. I did get one for christmas from my aunt and nana last year off ebay. I love Full House. It is one of my favorites. i still have the mitchelle tanner doll and the box she came in but. she is not in a pink dress. she wears a shirt with her name on it. it had strings hanging down that i cut off and jeans along with socks and shoes and i took a pink hair tie and whit one. they are accualy hairbands but i tied theam around her hair in a pony tail after taking out the rubber band with a bow attached. the olsen twins had one vack then. i saw in videos of theam. from haily

For other kids to play with. You know, I get it with merchandise like , clothes, backpacks, perfume, makeup, things like that, not dolls though..
Also the doll had like 3 lines that repeat, she even said them all out loud to clarify & the guy wasn't even paying attention so he said something random...geesh. To be fair I guess I'm just being picky with that one because I caught it all, idk maybe he really thought he heard something different. Still though! pay attention 😑
