This episode is also notable for being the last time we see Ena, Minnie & Martha on screen together. Such a pity Lynne Carol was axed 2 weeks after this episode aired. We were robbed of a great comedy trio and the show was never quite the same.
Thanks again. Poor Jerry ! Thought it was funny Elsie wanting money she's owed from Dennis, not going anywhere until she gets it but the min she hears Len's responsible for Minnie's accident, off she runs to Ena and then Len, missing out on her night out ! Brilliant episode.

Agreed, these three were acting gold😊
Absolutely right, it was so stupid and unnecessary.
Brilliant episode again, thank you, written by the great Jack Rosenthal.
what a shame, apparently at the whim of a producer. Lives are made and ruined by such.
They wanted to be the first soap with onscreen death. Lynne made history albeit not her choice.
Blame the then producer Tim Aspinall for that.
Violet Carson was phenomenal.
Poor Jerry, he always gets the shaft. Thank you for posting!
Poor Jerry, what a gerrible predicament.
Thanks for sharing this, its all heating up!
Great episode, would love to see the next one. To see how the Jerry and Myra story debt line concludes. Many thanks for sharing 😊

No come complete without that “ dirge “ ! It’s a big part of soap history . And as recorded by Eric spear was a top 40 hit !
So there !
@JeffLyons-r5j Eric Spear's original theme which is known as the Great Northern Blues as enduring as Franz Waxman's theme to Peyton Place.
But how can ANYONE stand the opening derge? Is this 'music' ment to reflect life up north?
P.S: Is it not time for The Street to be knocked down to make way for something that reflects the modern world?
No.
