I'm surprised the filter is not secured onto the velocity stack by a hose clamp or something. Also the lid that goes on top of the filter really does not seem secure at all also. Great to the point video though!
This is absolutely the WORST designed air filter installation procedure I’ve ever seen. It’s also the hardest air filter change I’ve ever done myself. Normally they’re 2 minutes or less. I’ve owned countless VWAG products and never have I spent 30 minutes trying to get the damn thing back together, until I got a Q5 3.0T with this engine. Unless there’s something wrong with mine, it’s nearly impossible to get the thing back together. Someone at Audi had to actually think: 1. Let’s make it so you have to remove part of the housing to remove the filter. 2. Let’s put easily stripped torx screws onto the housing that secure the filter 3. Let’s put dowels and clips that all have to be perfectly aligned to reinstall.
@@pacificrocknorthwest5612 I literally cut my hand all to pieces on my Q5 3.0T’s filter. I think mine must have some issue with one of the pieces being warped because there’s no way it should be that hard to do normally.
Thanks for the video. I'm about to throw a K&N filter on my s4!
Best vid for 2012 audi a6 3.0
Perfect! Thank you... you made it very easy!
Argh. Cracked my intake hose because I didn’t loosen back of hose enough!
Very helpful, thanks!
