Thanks for explaining this! I bought a Fanimation fan and the instructions about the 5 dip switches were trash. I didn't know if they all needed to be off except for 1 switch, or vice versa. Now I understand that the positions just have to match between the remote and receiver, whatever it is, so if there are 5 switches with 2 choices, there are 2^5 or 32 different frequency choices, and they just have to match. Thanks!
Thanks for this video. It's remarkable how many manuals and other videos don't clearly document this. I suppose they assume that everyone is just using the manual to install the fan, and not to change its settings after the fact.
this helped me today! one of my fan remotes broke. with this video, I managed to find the dip switches on the receiver unit, and make it so that 1 remote now controls 2 fans. thanks!
had no backs on our remotes and someone has messed with the receiver switches on the remote. Didnt know where the receiver was on the fan to change it but this video helped me find it. ALL my fans are working now, Summer is gonna be allot easier with these. :edit Maybe turn the power off at the breaker switch. Im sure that would be allot safer but i was fine.
Thank you for the video - You helped me find the dip switches on the top most part of the fan assembly. I couldn’t find it to save my life. Anyhow, one of the dip switches on the remote was wrong. I flipped it and boom!!! Fan and remote are communicating again! Thanks so much!
thank you so much i was able to fix my fan :), looks like my tenants bumped one of the switches when changing the battery and it was stuck on. We turned the breaker off in order to keep our hands and took the top of the fan down from the ceiling. Matched the switch pattern on the remote and voila!
Good video, Yes I did and checked everything remote still didn't work but fan worked ok , found out the remotes push buttons were dirty inside case spayed with electronics solvent and it worked great , I can amagain how many remotes get thrown away becouse of this ....
I hv 5 fañco fans in my HDB blk. All remote controllers are giving problem. In all cases light funtion is not working. Light some times ON some times not.
What do I do when a Allen and Roth ceiling fan is set to the fan speed of 2 and the remote I accidentally dropped it and now it doesn’t seem to work and I don’t know how to fix it I’ve tried to fix the remote and nothing

Glad to hear Riley! Not sure we like the sound of a fan-less summer 😂

Good to hear! Glad you persisted and fixed your fan up, easy to imagine a few in your position have given up and thrown everything away!

Off with music
Background music was annoying and unnecessary

Next time you do a video just leave the music off. Annoying and frankly took away from focusing on your talk. Not good at all.
and talk fasteeeeerrrrrrr
Whiners can whine about anything.....
I found the music to be calming. That’s helpful for tough mental tasks
