CURTAINS: instead of hemming I'd get rid of the loops on top and do french pleating with (hidden) curtain rings. I think this would look better with your classic interior style and give the linen curtains some dimension/texture.
And as other people have pointed out, make sure you wash them (preferably even twice) before shortening by hemming or getting rid of the loops. They will shrink quite a bit.
Yes absolutely right re the loops!
Yes....those loops need to go Karen ... no offense, but agree doesn't match
the rest of the fab elegance.
I prefer your existing radiators in the studio. I like the way they just sort of fade into the walls. It helps the other things to pop. I think adding gold would be too much. Love the puddled drapes!
Yes I agree.
No please...the vintage have so much more character. They’re probably from an old home or Brownstone. She’s doing Vintage/Boho. Mixing gives her that style.
I agree! The two silver kind of fade. Gold radiators would be too much gold
I LOVE the herringbone tile with maybe grey or black grout...a modern twist on a classic shape
Leave them, they do fade into the background. The gold radiators clash and would look out of place.
Use the 3 radiators downstairs
And leave the pair in white up
not gonna lie I sighed with relief when I saw you upload! Not feeling totally myself today and your happy energy is appreciated 👍🏼💓
I clicked so fast
Shes the only youtuber that doesn't annoy me these days. Love her!
📢📣📢 *OK evvverybody no talky talky as THE Karen & her fabbbb Chef Michael is on* " !!
Me saying as soon as signed in & saw Tuesday had *properly arrived* via K & M video !!
I’m love all the home renovations! Leave the curtains pooling on the floor, super chic!
Agree: pooled, maximalist and sumptuous.
I am thinking since they are white linen I would have them skim for a very crisp look but not until you have washed AND dried them because they WILL shrink.
The one gold radiator in a diff gold, whilst there is still another white radiator would be really annoying. Leave them as is until you can place two
Put the little one in a bathroom.
Or Michael's office.
Put the small radiator in a bathroom.
Your studio is perfect. I would leave the gold radiator for another room.
Leave the curtains pooled on the floor!!!!!! STUNNING
I think keepthe two radiators white so they blend into wall and let those beautiful gold accents in your room be the star!! 👏👍
Never saw such beautiful radiators. Had to give mine a second look. shucks, just old ordinary ones!! 😍
No hurry Karen, the joy is in collecting beautiful items for the house over time.
To much gold with the radiator. Leave the white ones as they are. Your room is already properly grounded. I absolutely love the wooden bowl. The white herringbone tile is gorgeous for the bathroom. Thanks for taking us along with you ❤
Agreed too much gold
I agree. The gold is too blingy
leave the white radiators where they are in.I think the gold painted radiator should go to Michael's office .
Is this Michael? LOL.
@@melvina628 typing error 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Karen.......those radiators OMG...the color with the antique design!!!
I used reclaimed wood too for a bathroom counter! Put a rectangular sink on top. Careful with placement of water faucet... place so that when you turn on water it won’t splash onto back of sink otherwise you’ll end up having to get a splash guard. Hope this makes sense❤️
Karen,
❤️❤️ the pooling curtains! Also the radiators are beautiful! You and your husband did an AWESOME job! 👩🏻🍳🤗
Leave it pooling on the floor. Gives a romantic vibe. I love that room ❤️
It DOES feel romantic!
Would not change the rads in the studio, think it would be best to keep plain as your clothes should be the stand out item in the room. Looks perfect as it is.
Those radiators are BEA-UTIFUL!
Stunning taste in clothes and furnishings!
Little radiator somewhere else, find another like Michael said. Good idea! Leave the curtains they look beautiful!
I have trouble swallowing vitamin tablets so often don't take them, so I love the idea of having vitamin powders! If anybody has any other recommendations/companys to share regarding vitamin powders! Please let me know.. Karen thank you for bringing that to my attention, I love the gold radiators they are stunning ❤ they'll find their right place. Loving the store tours xxxxx
Leave the white radiators!, use the gold gorgeous one in another room. I kind of like the curtains as they are.
I love when a house Is redone bit by bit. It is how it becomes a home.
Don’t hem. Love the draping on the floor. Romantic.
Karen, Michael deserves something special and great for Christmas no matter what you decide to do! He's been an angel.
Put the small one in the room. It coordinates and it looks great!
Yes to the curtains pooling on the floor! Looks so gorgeous! It's one of those tricks you read about from high end interior designers (also to position the rods high above windows as close to the ceiling as possible to make the room feel "taller," just as you did 👏👍✔) that make a space feel all the more dramatic & expensive.
Bring 2 gold ones upstairs and just set them in front of the existing ones to live with them in the space for a little while and see how you feel.
Good idea to try it out first and live with it for a while
I didn't expect that radiator can look like piece of art 😍😍😍😱 so beautiful 😍🏅Love you both, you're an amazing couple 😘❤️
Thank you so much!!
Look at you in my hood! Those are my stomping grounds. Route 17 Paramus is a decorator's heaven. So many stores!!
More than enough gold and details with the mirrors
You’re so blessed! Michael can do anything! He is a gem!!
I like Michael’s radiator idea!
Nice rug. From a design point of view though it should be about 1 foot bigger all around so that all the feet of the sofa fits on it. Just for scale. As for curtain...recommend them hemmed. (my mom calls them dust catchers). :-))
So agree. Too small
@Sharon Sears: Totally agree! You have to be a far better housekeeper than I am to have the “puddled” curtain look! I think that look works better in more formal interiors with voluminous lined silk drapes...like a ball gown. Don’t like the fabric tabs and I think Karen needs at least two more panels so they’ll look full enough to actually cover the French doors.
Put the small radiator in the bathroom or small foyer
Leave the 2 matchin white ones where they are. Love you
I agree with Michael!!
I love love the radiators so beautiful Karen,Michael did a great job as always..love you guys!!
Radiators are beautiful!
I think with interior design, it works to go by the rule of 3. You have 3 items in your studio, directly visible, with ‘burnished’ gold - the 2 mirrors and the sofa - their colour is subtle, but cohesive. Like you say, the ‘accents’. The radiators actually recede with their colour, making the space look larger. Unless you want the radiators to be a specific feature in the studio, I’d leave the gold ones out.
You’ve both done and continue to do an amazing job and I can’t wait to see more of how your space evolves. Especially excited to see that raw lumber in the bathroom - I think it’ll look 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Thanks as always for sharing, Karen 🙏🏻✨
Team Michael: find two golden radiators for the studio. Never to much gold. So great with your wonderful floor. Your renovation turns stunning 🤩
Your studio looks great with the white radiators...allows for the mirror to be star with no distractions.
Oooooo please show us the bathroom. That wood countertop is going to be epic ❤💚💜💜💛
I love the renovations in your home! It is truly a labor of love and kudos to you and Michael for investing your time and love into your home. It is beautiful. Make sure you wash those drapes a couple of times before you hem them, they will shrink. I love the pooling of drapes in the home. Cedar also makes a beautiful top or shelf as well and it smells just warm and wonderful!
Thank you so much!
I would spray the two matching radiators black
LOVE the radiators! I've never seen them with such beautiful designs, but not for the studio.
Another heavenly vlog🤩😇 I would put the small radiator in the downstairs cloak room.
Ah Karen, you're studio is perfect. Put the lovely gold radiator in another room.
The bowl is a great conversation piece. Michael has good ideas about the radiators I’d go with his suggestions. He’s a dream; tasteful, skillful and motivated.
Nailed the Canadian tuxedo...
I agree with Michael about the radiator.
Love your eye for all things beautiful
Radiators are fab! Michael is a gem....
Not really into fashion, but LOVE your kitchen and home design💜💜💜
Thank you! 😊
Leave the curtain to pool on the floor. Its simplistic & pretty
Silver mixed in balances with your light fixture. Way I see it:)
keep the gold for another special spot and make those either the copper like your new rod or flat black would be stunning!
Wow, Karen the renovations are fabulous.
The radiators are beautiful! But as you see both windows at the same time I would keep them as is. I like some things to be symmetrical to make odd features stand out more.
Those radiators turned out like works of art 💗💗💗 I would only replace if you can do the pair as a set and I wouldn't do gold maybe black or white or another neutral. Those special gold radiators need their moment and a room where they are the star -- pretty hard to compete with that gorgeous bronze antique gold floor mirror
true!
Love to see you guys together 🥰
That's a good idea. Get another vintage one.
Love, love, the herringbone.
Leave the white/silver radiators in your office. I like that they blend into the wall instead of standing out. I think using the gold would compete too much with all the other ornate bronze/gold accents you already have.
I like the leather dining chairs with modern iron base the best. Great contrast with your wood dining table.
No on the bar stools. They are too industrial looking for your space. I would keep looking for something else.
Get rid of the loops at the top of curtains, and wash and dry. After this they will probably be the perfect length to just slightly puddle the floor.
Question re the wood bathroom countertop. How do you clean it? Is it sealed/waterproofed? Does it then give it a shiny smoothe texture on top? Just curious how the wood will not be porous for use in a bathroom?
I have a wood countertop in my kitchen: I just put mineral oil on it to restore the sheen and the color (about every month...)
the vignettes are incredible
Michael suggestion was exactly what I was getting ready to say in my comment. Just get another radiator and paint it gold. At first I thought these were just decor but you guy are going to actually in stall them. Those pillows would have been great on your sofa. Thanks for sharing and blessing to you and all in the days to come.
Those radiators make gorgeous tables with glass
One suggestion will be to paint the two existing radiators on ur studio gold (put the old small one somewhere else, in a small bathroom maybe) and i will recomend to paint also the wall (where radiators are) in black, this way u will have a very classy & stylish feature wall (black and gold well combined with the rest of the room furniture)
I think you should do the radiators in an antique black and add a aged gold finish to the edges.
Loving the chevron tile..
I love how your re-design is coming along! The way you’ve got your accessories displayed and the look of that fabulous vintage sofa is all just so appealing. I have just one pet peeve: When you have the highest most beautiful ceilings, I would avoid a curtain rod for your gloriously elegant white linen curtains as it creates a false line and tricks the eye into thinking the ceiling is lower than it is. Rather opt for a track that attaches to the actual ceiling. Your curtains will have a wonderful waterfall effect and give your space a more elegant look. The drapery will glide so elegantly back and forth and I guarantee you that you will be so much happier with that esthetic. I would hem the curtains so that they fall just a wee cm. from the floor... So lengthening and so clean.❤️
Industrial barstools with the flat wood disk seats are SO HARD TO SIT ON! Those are so cute, but you may want to see if you can change out the seat for something more comfortable. LOVE what you two are doing with your home.
Thanks for the tip!
Love the tall gold mirror. Can you please let me know where can I find this mirror?
Yep I agree leaving the existing radiator!!
Loved your reclaimed wood counter! It will look stunning with the bowl on it as a sink!
But I dont thin that that radiator should go in your dressing room! The mirrors are beautiful and the radiator would be distracting!
Loved the leather dining chairs rather than the ones from Crate and Barrel!
Your design aesthetic is uncanny. Thanks for sharing your home renovations with us.
Wht Mr. Michael said... He so adorable
He is the dream ... we need to get that DNA to make more of him for the rest of us!!
Loved the lamp and mid century mirror and furniture in fact your. Taste is incredible xI
Accents of Gold!!! Good idea!!! Either way you go- trial and error... you’ll know best ❤️❤️❤️. You both have fun lively taste in decor ❤️❤️❤️
Drapes... Hemmed just alittle with a bit of a curtain puddle. Gold radiators- Love it!!! Find another like Michaels says. Love herringbone tile. Love the Homesense leather dining chairs and the lattice leather as well. Great video Karen!
The curtains pooling is very chic
I prefer the chairs at west elm for the dining table.
Yes and it was comfortable!
Your gold radiators are STUNNING! Absolutely stunning & so unique! I too think it would be too much gold in your wardrobe and/or clash with the other gold items in that space. I think you should place them in another room where they can be the bling of the space or juxtaposed (as you're doing in the rest of the house) next to earthier, warmer elements.
Leave the two where they’re at because they blend in with the wall. The gold wouldn’t work
yea I'm starting to agree : )
I think the studio is perfect do not add the gold radiator, listen to Michael, he nailed it
Those radiators 🤤! I agree with Michael or get 2 different ones painted bronze. If you got any more laying around you could convert them into a wine / bar cart.
I love how you slowly design your space!
Karen radiators are stunning I would wait abd see if you can get another 2 I llove all 3 radiators but my favourite is the small one ithe pattern looks like Art Nouveaux I hooe you got them for a good price they would be a fortune to buy in london Micheal s done. a great job painting them x
I’m with Michael... find 2 lovely new radiators to put in your office. Putting the gold ones in there would take away from the beauty of your beautiful mirror and sofa. They are such gems.
Go radiator shipping again Karen 😀
The little radiator-put in bathroom .
The longer curtains do look very elegant.
Michael had the best solution for the radiator.
Sending positive vibes and well wishes xo
Michael and Karen 💕💕
Thanks for including us in your reno. I love the idea of the bathroom and the old wood. Your studio is fantastic. Keep those drapes long. They just make the look. Maybe hem them a little. I think the orangey chairs you showed us are nice and I can't help but think that leather lattice chair would be a good dining chair. Get a pair of those. I think it would go with all your natural wood. A natural leather look would absolutely be fantastic with what you are doing. I do love the radiators. Who would want old radiators when you have nice sleek modern white ones? Why Brit Chick of course!
The herringbone is to die for!! I love y and it is timeless!
Do you have room in the newly renovated bath for the small rad because the different surfaces you’ve mentioned would be gorgeous together! Then put a new two rads for the studio! You can do something to the office later when you do that room if there is room in the downstairs bath! You said you’ve waited a long time to do the bath so just make it fancy especially if it will be used a lot or by guests!!
I like the puddle look but I also like them fuller & I pull my panels back with double tassels.
Karen I think you should leave the two radiators White and repaint them like a creamy white color
I like the radiators just as they are, it may be a lot of different colored gold items that may overpower the room. You could also do radiator covers in whatever color and style that appeals to you. But I know whatever you do it will look fantastic.
You could also dry brush sparingly the mirror frames and other radiator with just a touch of the gold paint used on refurbished radiators
That tile shop!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩. The North east is truly beautiful in the Fall. Love seeing you and Michael shopping for your home. The radiators are insane. Your channel is so much fun.🥰🥰🥰
IMO, I would find another place for the radiator. Also I thought the first mirror, the odd shaped one would be stunning in the bathroom with the stone shaped tiles. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home. Mary
