Archon SF-1 is an evolutionary unique aircraft, that utilizes the look of a modern fighter aircraft but lies into the Ultalight(EU)/LSA(USA) category. The idea behind the design is an affordable recreational aircraft that offers the impression and the feeling of a fighter aircraft.
It was designed and built in Greece, by George Iliopoulos. The maiden flight was made in July, 2009. Since then, it's been being test flown in regular basis and have received minor changes to improve the overall flight qualities. Needless to say, we are very impressed by its flight characteristics. It's a very pilot friendly, forgiving and most importantly, a pleasant aircraft to fly.

*"Atairon" is the newest addition on the fleet of G-AeroSports and it's currently under construction. It is a two seat side-by-side, all-metal Ultralight/LSA aircraft, designed both for training and cross country. Our first priority is the safety and we focus on the comfort of the occupants. The first tests are expected to begin in the late November of "17.

The more I see this aircraft the more I like it. It's a biplane/ducted/pusher hybrid. I spent 10 minutes geeking out over the canopy alone! Stunning work.

Triplane? I know its amazing, look at the 2 wings in biplane configuration, then the tail itself is a more of a wing getting direct blow from the prop. In this case you have 3 lifting mechanisms? Idk. How would this fly with couple of 100lb turbojets is the question. A turbine aircraft with 1/5 power to weight ratio. Maybe 2 250lb turbojets with 500lb of thrust is in order here, problem is lift produces drag so you don't want to have a mid-air yard sale by getting her up to mach 1. a 200kt 2hour endurance with 340 KMile range and climbs at 2k-4k per min climb., rated to 6gs.
@Spread Flying - I want to commend you for the boldness of this project. SF-1 has such a nice distinct & charming look to it. Have you heard of recent sport aircraft like PJ-2 Dreamer and also UL-39 Albi, which use ducted fans powered by piston-engines? Because they use piston-engines, they are legal under the Light Sports Aircraft category in USA. Have you considered the possibility of such an approach for Archon? Also however, LSA category requires fixed landing carriage and doesn't allow retractable. Have you also considered making fake "drop tanks" which would not drop, but could instead act as fuel nacelles to extend flight duration and range? They could also help to conceal a fixed non-retractable landing gear. You could also additionally have an optional luggage pod. Wow, one can imagine so many possibilities with your idea.

Even if this wasn't intended to look like a jot, its a pretty good design anyway. Lots of wing area and good thrust over the tail. It is almost all lifting or control surfaces. I like it.
Oh yeah, gear up! Noticeable speed increase. I really like this design. Almost a ducted fan, quite unique. The pilot’s got to smile more- I know he wants to put a big grin on.......

Yes, it's really cool, whoever dislikes is just jealous! I'd love to have one! So what if it's a pusher? Probably quiet in the cockpit, noise being behind you! Retractable gear as well! Very nice, kudos. Do you need a license or can you fly vfr?
An US kit-company has the WW-distributing-rights by now (except Greece itself, I guess), now, one can soon buy it... Much cheaper when bought in Greece, but they build slowly in Greece and fast in the US, so, if u can wait for that long, u can save money

Very clever design, but not for military purpose I dont think ,looks very slow for that.But it can be built for commercial use if built bigger .But again shows the greeks can make anything they want if they had the money to back them up .well done greeks we love you from cyprus

I find most of the airplane (wings and tail section) very nicely designed in terms of look. Unfortunately the front section is just odd looking.

Δεν γνωριζω αν με ενα προγραμμα simulator πτησεως που χρησιμοποιειρται πχ στο playstation, με την αναλογη κασκα και την προσθηκη καμερων , διοπτρων νυκτερινης πτησεως κλπ μπορεσει να διασυνδεθουν τα οργανα ελεγχου του σκαφους με αυτο το συστημα και να ελεγχεται πλεον το σκαφος με την κασκα, δημιουργοντας μια προηγμενη αισθηση πλοηγησεως του σκαφους.
Νομιζω οτι ειναι μια συγχρονη δυνατοτητα με το ελαχιστο δυνατο κοστος, χωρις να γνωριζω ποσο εφικτο ειναι.
Σαν ιδεα το θετω. Καλη δυναμη.

I want one 👍💯 You could literally overwhelm your enemy, by producing 500,000 of these aircraft in people's backyards, built by DIY'ers and hobbyists, and whatever enemy you have, would run out of ammunition in an hour 😄
But I still don't think, that the backyard Afrikaans Aeronautical hobbyists couldn't get one of the ground successfully 🤔 ..especially in the Congo

Τελικά είμαστε άξιοι της μοίρας μας που είναι το ελληνικό κράτος να παράγει εγχώρια τέτοια αεροπλάνα για τον στρατό μάς 100 τέτοια με ραντάρ και εννοείται οπλισμένα οι απέναντι μετά θα βαραν προσοχή..

κοιτα ενα μοτερ 50 ιππων κανει κανα 500ρικο (αναλογως και την κατασταση) τα υπολοιπα αντε να κανουν το πολυ 2-3 χιλιαρικα
