Just started playing NieR: Automata yesterday after having watched countless content on UA-cam and Twitch. I haven't been this excited in a while! 2B is PERFECTION!
Nier Automata was pretty much a shooting star it had literally everything nicely put together with good story telling, good voice acting on both en and jp, good character development and great character design it was almost too perfect of a game
Could be Lara Croft if Crystal Dynamics didn't ruined her in the new games and "replaced" with a character that's a shadow of her former self, it doesn't even feel like a Lara Croft, it's more like Lana Craft.

Good video. This makes me think about The Last of Us Part II and Horizon Forbidden West. Both very powerful female protoganists but both feel like they werent relatable. (At least to me). Pushing an agenda? Maybe. I felt more like the writers of both games were trying to show an exaggeration of an incredibly masculine female, that you just cant imagine working in real life. Even if 2B (or even A2 or Kaine from the original Nier) wasnt hyper sexualized- her story is gripping enough. You come to seriously care about her, both the operators, hell even Devola and Popola are incredibly tragic characters. Despite being extremely powerful and sexy that isnt the main focus you think about. And frankly they dont even think about those facts. They feel weak, hopeless, and attractivity doesnt mean anything in an apocalypse. So what youre left with is their hope, their desires, compassion, anger, etc. it comes down to their character and not the "what" they are but "why" they are. This makes them interesting. Idk if that makes sense. I cried like a [B]itch at ending E. Jus wanted to see 9S and 2B happy man! 😂
It's because those characters were basically astroturfed by the publishers and the game journos. How ironic that for an android like 2B the fan love came about so organically.

Personally i never found 2B all that interesting, she's badass sure but lots of cyborgs or bionic type characters are and when u have a hyper sexualized one its a given they're gonna be marketed everywhere. Wouldnt surprise me if eve from sb is the next "2b" to get the same treatment which btw i prefer over 2b as a character. But this is exactly why the nier franchise is so popular mostly because of the characters and amazing ost but more specifically kane, 2b, and a2.

i love nier automata, i love all of yoko taro games , manga , works , anime , even mobile games (overall the guy knows what he is writing) but i did not sleep on 2b, she is ok, a ok character, good character for plot to moving , she leaves nice surprise for audience even until the end of the game , she is interesting grey character, and you play 1/3 of game with her but she is not main character (9s is , kinda) i am glad that due to her influence , yoko taro works had been seen to casual audience , but again, she got overglazed a little too much, i think yoko taro had written better characters overall
