- Jamie Fox presents the award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy to Reese Witherspoon for "Walk The Line". Reese thanks the Hollywood Foriegn Press Association, director James Mangold, writer Gill Dennis, the producers, actor Joauquin Pheonix, and her family. She also expresses the personal importance of the film to her.

you can really see how unimportant the globes are if you compare how she acted when she won the oscar.
For those “complaining” that Joaquin forgot to mention Reese in his speech, he literally responded to Ryan Phillipe (Reese’s husband at the time) and looked right at her so i think that it was just a slip that he didn’t mention her, no harm meant. Literally the only people bothered by it at all are people online. Just cause actors don’t always broadcast their feelings for one another doesn’t make it ok for media or fans to cook up unnecessary drama

I always felt bad for Reese at this moment. She & Ryan were at the height of her career & at the end of their marriage & he didn’t seem to be handling it well. If you can find the unedited footage, when her name is announced, he slaps her so hard on the shoulder, almost shoving her. He’s obviously drunk & I imagine seeing her win, while his career had kinda stalled , was a storm brewing… it was so sad…

She was not that great, Oscar has been incredibly kind to her and they got it wrong again. If Joaquin did not get it for best actor, why did she win for best actress, he carried the entire movie.
