Watching this reminds me of your Obsidian 900D review. You sold me on that case, and I still use it now. Seriously tempted by this one... Thanks for all the years you've given us top tier content, and for the many years to come :)
I‘m speechless - THIS is THE ULTIMATE Case we‘ve been lookin‘ for so long 👌🏻🙏🏻✊🏻 Great Review Tom, thank you so much for this excellent deep dive Review ❤
Lol, the large glass panel was loose from the start. You can see it hanging out from the case at 3:05. I caught it then and knew it was an accident waiting to happen! Glad it survived the fall. Anyway, thanks for the overview! I have the older o11 dynamic xl with 3 360 rads in it and am considering upgrading to this one!
Odd so the O11 XL had issues with hot HDD cages, now i can see they added some holes to it, but i thought they were going to add room for a slim 120mm fan support to able to get some sort of airflow in there. Right now i have a interesting setup where i placed a 120mm fan in the back of the case on the cages between and zipped it up for extra airflow. I know it sounds silly but just that tiny change dropped my hdd temps by almost 15C-20C. If you look up O11XL HDD Temps, you will find a lot of threads about this issue. They get ultra toasty. Zero air flow in the back there.
The hdd cages can fit a slim 120 on them in the evo XL. Personally took them out. No need for spinning drivers or even 2.5's really. Just run a NAS if you want mass storage.
Haven't been this excited for a case since the 900D, Looking forward to building in it, and if my measurements are correct I should be able to get 3x EK XE360s (Top, Side, Bottom) and SE120 at the rear. Why so many radiators ? because I have them and they will fit :D
Thanks for the very informative video on this crazy case)) I own today the first O11 that came back in a days, the Lian Li O11 Dynamic Black, and i like a lot this case, but i found myself that i will build for myself completely new system in this year (2024), i think when 15 gen intel cpu will come out. And i am starting to think now what and how i will be happy to see in my future new build, and the picture is starting to show in my head... I do not want to deal with custom water cooling, but i do want AIO like i did for the last 8 years, but in new system i want the 420mm instead of 360mm something like the Arctic Liquid Freezer III 420 with the big radiator (38mm) and push-pull config. As well i want to see in my future build 140mm fans all over the case instead of 120mm, and i want to see that i will able to install in the clasic way (horizontal) my giant RTX 4090 in the new case that will allow to do that without any tricks, like in the clasic O11 Dynamic i was needed to do, with some adapters and such, because the side glass panel just can not be closed... So i don't know, maybe i'm a bit crazy, but i think that for my future new build, i will buy this O11 EVO XL Case, and yes, this will be for most some standard build, just with 420 AIO with 100mm thickness (30mm fans, 40mm rad. and again 30mm fans, again - Arctic Liquid Freezer III 420), giant RTX 4090 installed horizontally as i like, and all other case fans are 140mm instead of 120mm. So how do you think, build like this can justify the purchase of this Lian Li O11 EVO XL?
I mean, the XL will handle what you want and look good. I just feel this case was made for custom loop watercooling. I have the EK distro plate and 3 420mm rads in mine at the moment (58mm in the bottom, 44mm top and side) just so roomy in the case
Connectors on the bottom of the case? what were they thinking? Either they get full of dust when having the case on the floor or you risk spilling your drink into them when having the case on the table. Beautiful case, but that is an immediate deal breaker for me.
Great video! I've been wondering if there is a vertical gpu mount that would fit this case? I have the universal I used on my O11D Evo but it does not fit the XL. I have not been able to find one that can fit this one specifically. A lot I see are for the regular XL, not this one specifically. The holes where you screw in the mount to the case are just a bit too small.
It's possible you could get away with putting 2,5" drives in the cable management area, but there doesn't seem to be a way to secure them. No access to the screws, other than maybe in that top section where you could tighten the screws at the front end. That would still leave the other end loose. Edit: Hmmm, maybe removing the motherboard tray gives access? P.S. A 900cm riser cable would require some awesome cable management skills :)
To build with insane gear would be 3 or 4 days work and restrict me showing you the case possibilities. I've put 4 videos up this week and filmed this on launch day 😂 (the case also only arrived late last week and I was testing and gpu's) I'm only one guy when it comes to the videos s dude.
They are still using these terrible HeatTrap cages. My HDDs were going over 60+C on my o11 air mini in them. Wouldnt let them suffer like that. There is negative aiflow in those cages. Just dont use them for spinners, they are going to die premature death due excessive heat. I dont understand why LianLi still push such terrible HDD mounting solution.
It's 2023. Ditch the HDDs. SSDs (especially SATA) are ridiculously cheap now. If someone can't afford SSDs, then they shouldn't be buying a case like this.

I managed to get 3x 360 rads into the original O11 Air.
Might get this big lad to see just how much more radspace I can cram in.
It's good to see the Old Tom is back. love the content as always one of the best.
Wonderful case... only a year late.
I‘m speechless - THIS is THE ULTIMATE Case we‘ve been lookin‘ for so long 👌🏻🙏🏻✊🏻
Great Review Tom, thank you so much for this excellent deep dive Review ❤
Damn bro these quick fire reviews 😮
Do you mean so many this week?
ages since I've seen anything come out of lian li. neat!
Stunning looking case. I personally have the O11DXL
the clips are so you can unclip the usb ports then clip them on top so you can have the case the other way around
Thank you ❤️

Wow!! The engineers were very busy, inventing this case. (It has more 'tricks' than those famous girls from France ;-) Great review...Thank you, Tom.
well Tom, that back grommet is obviously for your display cable if you have the gfx card in vertical mode :)
Now I look back it's obvious but in the panic of filming I had a brain fart 🤣

Lian li do have a new version one for this case.
Of course they release this now that it is too late to return my O11D-XL.

When is a mid size coming out?
Do fit the EK Distroplate for O11D XL also in the EVO XL? Would nice of it does.
i have a use case that calls for 3 gpus, and having 2 on the mobo and one hanging in the case as the third is worth thrying out!
Is that hole at the back for the HDIM cable if you side mount the gpu
Wicked Guv, and you're so lucky that glass didn't break on you 🤣
15:52 I almost shat a brick seeing the reflection of old mate sitting there. Fuck me sideways...
Help! I keep on throwing money at my monitor yet nothing happens!!
Pretty nice case that
Arguably the best front I/O of any case. Would I pay $230 for this even knowing it will last 10 years, not sure.
I would prefer two USB-C on front I/O, because newer day's we have a lot devices with USB-C.
not many motherboards with 2 internal usb c headers
they forgot to add ULTRA ELITE PREMIUM. Wish it came out in gunmetal
Hello Tom’s wife 👋🏼👋🏼. By the way, why didn’t you build with insane gear inside for the video?
To build with insane gear would be 3 or 4 days work and restrict me showing you the case possibilities.
I've put 4 videos up this week and filmed this on launch day 😂 (the case also only arrived late last week and I was testing and gpu's) I'm only one guy when it comes to the videos s dude.
@@OC3D fair enough, I was just curious about it. Already pre-ordered mine 😊, yeah I guess with AMD’s launch happening on the same week.
I'd love to have the time to do everything but sometimes I just have to prioritise and Lian Li wanted day 1 content
The back is where the PSU is. There is no valid argument for any other part of a pc case to be referred to as the back.
Should I watch this? I will end up spending money lol.
the case should have brought more USB-C... 2 usb-a and 2 ubc-c....

The cages now have vents on the side and back and mounting points for fans if you want to cool the harddrives in them.
It's 2023. Ditch the HDDs. SSDs (especially SATA) are ridiculously cheap now. If someone can't afford SSDs, then they shouldn't be buying a case like this.
More drunk reviews!
Don't think I ever did a drunk one?
This asks for a 280 rad on the side WITH the riser front mounted GPU
