- I hope you all enjoy my newest G&G montage. This montage tells the story of Katia's schoolgirl crush on Sergei and finally getting the man of her dreams. I tried to capture their love slowly developing into a fairytale romance that has forever touched our hearts.
The song is "Finally" by Fergie featuring John Legend.

His death was one of the most devastating moments in figure skating for me as a fan.
Perfect song for a perfect couple
This song is perfect for this beautiful, loving and talented couple. Katia waited from age 11 until age 19 for her prince only to be forever separated from him just five short years later. What courage and devotion to Daria it took for her to carry on. I can’t imagine how much she misses him even after all these years. They will be united eternally in Heaven.
And she always had a crush on him since she was a little girl, but he didn't pay any romantic interest in her. But finally he took notice of her only for him to be snapped away 7 years later.
You can tell when she raises her eyebrows in the beginning that she has a big crush that she does not want to admit.
He waited till she was of age. He loved her from the very beginning.
If there was ever a couple more perfect for each other I don't know who it would be. So joyful to see yet so heartbreaking knowing the tragedy that was to come. Still, they remain unmatched as the best pair skaters the world has ever produced.

At the end , I cannot stop watching Sergei ‘s huge smile as Katia recalls their journey together “Closer, closer, until we decided to get married “. Wow, what a great love story. The way he looks at her! 6:20 That look is genuine, not put on. It shows his pure love and admiration for Katia. How I wish my husband loved me like that.

OMG! This song is so perfect for them, I'm crying right now. So sad that he died so young and the last line of this is so wierd, maybe they were too perfect. They were definitley perfection together, they will always be my favorite pairs figure skaters. I still can't get used to her being with another man but glad she's happy, she's deserves it.

I don’t think she can ever really “be” with another man. She’s almost doing a self-fulfilling prophecy thing .. because she herself has said soooo many times that the years she spent w/ Sergei were THE happiest years of her entire life and would always be the happiest yrs of her life. I don’t think any man, any relationship, any marriage will ever compare, will ever measure up in her mind and in her heart. And as she goes through life with that mindset, there’s no way another marriage of hers will ever survive. It’s almost like trying to live up to a very perfect fantasy .. and you know how impossible that is. I’m so sad for her. She had it all ... but for such a very very brief amount of time. It was like God gave her a taste of the very sweetest nectar but then suddenly took it away:(.
