Kirstin is unique in that she doesn't simply sing, or interpret a song she "performs" the song as if the song itself is a character that she needs to bring to life. I attribute this to her deep connection to musical theater where the songs are part of the characters. You can see this in her body language and facial expressions when she sings. She becomes the song.
I think Kirstie's voice has gotten deeper and richer over the years since the sing-off. I think she has improved vocally the most. I liked her before - I LOVE her now! Another thing I love about Pentatonix is how deeply they immerse themselves into the songs they do. The songs are shown on their faces. Even if you couldn't understand the language, I think you would understand the song just by watching them.
At first i thought the Kirstin that sang the song "Break a little" was a new member and the Kirstin from Sing Off was a former member. I googled it and i assumed wrong. She's just grown into a woman and dyed her hair
@@fairrider3346 why do you think your opinion matters-- it's her body. She is happier now than before, and if you are a fan you should be happy for her instead

Scott has such a rich and warm tone. Love Mitch's "for change". Kirstin's "cry" adds such an emotional depth. Love that Scott and Kirstin are singing to each other. Mitch has a great run there at 2:25 and then a great punch at the end of it. That's pure power. And of course Kevin's chelloboxing and Matt laying down a great solid bass for everyone to build on. PURE MASTERY !!! Love it.

I love how much you appreciate them (and so many others), but also never fail to use them to teach those little things that your students (us) need to learn. Deep respect for being able to enjoy so much while still keeping your head in the game.
It was Kevin's ability to Cello-Box (as he coined it) that got him the PTX gig in the first place. And, let's be honest, Kirstie and Scott blew Gaga and Bradley out of the water with this one! The chemistry between them is still very palpable. I guess that's what can happen between life-long friends.
I soo love how much you break it down and let us know exactly what it is. And yes I noticed Kevin and I was like wow this guy is beyond talented. The whole group is amazing. Thank you
My bf was talking about how Kev was beat-boxing and playing the cello and literally 20sec later @Tara paused and mentioned how she was impressed about it. Just kind of awesome how that happened! Love you Tara and love your reaction videos!
Omgg I love this. They are so amazingg!! Kevin is so underrated sometimes, he is extremely talented! I sometimes wish I could be in an a capella club or group just to have a chance of having those amazing harmonies. They are just so awesome. 😁🤣🥰
Omg that is rightfully awesome! I'm really enjoying your love of the music world in its entirety Tara, I learn from every video that you respond to. The complexities of the vocalizations are astounding to me. This puts me in mind of Big Band Music and how the scoring of each individual instrument is the presentation of popular music in that era. Thanks for pointing out the nuances of not only the cello/beatbox talent but also throughout your tutorial I have a better sense of purpose within the presentational process than I have in my past experience, totally makes a great impression of the importance instilled by the individuality and creativity that enhances my relating with individual artists! So impactful... 🙂
Love that you mention kevin. He's so often overlooked on these reaction videos. Definitely a deciding factor in my subscribing. Really enjoying your videos.
Hi, Tara, thanks for covering this. I loved this song when Gaga and Bradley Cooper did it in the movie and I love this possibly more. KO melts me when he plays the cello, Scott is his smooth, rich self and Kirsti really brings her sultry, smoldering best to the table. I love the way Mitch, Matt and Kevin take the forefront in the bridge (I think everyone would miss Mitch especially if he didn't get a moment); the arrangement (and execution) are stellar as usual - are we getting spoiled? When you get a chance, knowing how much you prefer live performances I would like to suggest a listen to PTX cover of Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" - it has a setup that reminds me of their live version of Silent Night, just in a sort of industrial setting rather than a church. Continued success and all the best!
Love PTX. Found them by accident a few years ago while looking for another accapella group! Haven’t heard that one before. My introduction to them their cover of Radioactive.
