In episode two, Adam Page captures the AEW World Tag Team titles with Kenny Omega but it only makes matter worse...

the year sucked for sure but in terms of just AEW 2020 was amazing minus the Brodie tragedy
I forgot all about the Buckshot tease after the Revolution tag match, amazing. “I thought I saw something” “Tony, I think I saw the same thing” was a brilliant bit of commentary from Schiavone and Excalibur
If that Blood & GUTS match between the elite & the inner circle could've happened then we could see either hangman or the elite turning
I really wanted to see where the Brodie Lee Hangman angle was going to. Sadly we lost a great man and it couldn't happen but they made the best of a horrible situation by turning the Dark Order faces and having them be Hangman's support group.
Probably into a really epic feud where brodie would once again offer hangman to join the dark order and hangman would join at first because he felt completely alone in his life. But then the dark order (being heels) would show their true colours and hangman would have to go up against the whole dark order, ending in a brilliant climatic showdown with Brodie. Thats the way I would fantasy book it at least.
I saw somewhere (can't remember the source) that the plan was to have Hangman help the Dark Order members break free of Brodie's control.
But since Brodie passed away, AEW turned the members into babyfaces and had them embracing cowboy shit instead of Hangman joining the stable. I personally think that is brilliant.
My theory was always that Revolution 2021 would have a Hangman v Brodie Lee match. If Hangman lost, he would join the Dark Order.

To this day, when I see Hangman set that belt down and grab that top rope while Omega is in the ring alone....chills. I still hold my breath. Knowing full well he doesn't pull the trigger.

It's telling actually. Because Cutler reaches for it, and the Bucks are there for their friend. No you don't need them. Then Nakazawa reaches for it, and Kenny is there. No, you don't need it.
But no one is there for Hangman.

It really feels so heartbreaking how awkward Kenny and Hangman were as a tag team... And only because Kenny was torn between Hangman and the Bucks due to the split. Had they all been good friends still, they would have communicated better and had been able to enjoy their reign instead of scrambling and struggling to hold the team together
Only critical note on this episode is that it would have been awesome to show the Golden Trigger and Kenny's kickout at 1. That moment symbolized the one chance, one moment where Kenny could have broken off from the Bucks and embraced Hangman fully, but he still chose to be friends
That also would’ve required the knowledge of the Golden Lovers saga to fully understand tho

Hangman just apologized to the Bucks on Rampage because of his insecurities that cost them their friendship and also costing the Bucks a shot at the tag titles.
These videos are brilliantly done, no over the top editing, just letting the story speak for itself. Can't wait for the rest of the series.

AEW needs to hire this guy. He put together a hell of a video package. Better than anything I’ve seen on their TV.

Oh man, these are perfect. I am absolutely loving reliving the entire story. AEW did such a good job putting this whole thing together and the way you highlight it all is incredible.
I forgot how heavy the elite break up with hangy was and the song over it gave me chills. Maybe wrestling promos could be done with some dramatic bgm every now and then

Watching these after Full Gear, and I've been watching AEW from day one, and I missed how much they subtly telegraphed where things were going at the time. Cash and Dax getting between Kenny and Hangman with the beer. Nothing they do is accidental. It's amazing 😍
This is a great channel. I hope you keep making AEW story break down videos or whatever you call it. You could do Darby’s story, Sammys, MJFs, Jericho’s, Omegas. The list goes on and on. That’s how good AEW is and I’m looking forward to seeing what you explore/dissect next.

Can tell with the storytelling that page was originally pegged to turn heel but after brodies passing and him becoming friends with dark order that plans changed and for the better. Page being a heel and champion wouldn't have done him any favours. Something unique about hangman and likeable.
I don't think that's the case. The popular theory at the time was that the Matt Hardy match at Revolution 2020 was meant to be Adam Page vs Brodie Lee with the fate of the Dark Order on the line, with Brodie being the heel wanting to keep them evil & Hangman wanting to help his friends get out from under the heel of the tyrant

@@aether9461 they had a storyline where Hangman Cody and FTR where suppose to be Horsemen 2.0 aka Pinnacle kicking out Spears of the group solidifying their heel turn in a brutal beat down. But they had to change plans. Nobody knows why , rumour has it had to do with disagreement within the real group of the elite.
@@aether9461 they were actually teasing it heavily. The 4 hand gesture. Cody working heel , Arn siding with FTR instead of bucks. All of it was there. But they pivoted in the story.
If someone still thinks AEW doesn't do long term booking, they have no freaking clue how great this 3 year build up actually is
