South Park is still one of the most cleverly written shows on television.

Context.... Each episode has a deep thread of context. Watching a few seconds misses the context entirely. The humor is not juvenile, but it is presented by imaginary fourth-graders who view adult problems without the pretense that adults put on it.

In all honesty, Family Guy is more “trash” than South Park is. And I love both, but South Park is pretty high level social satire. The problem Niah is you’re watching the wrong video. South Park has many times when they’ve been absolutely brilliant.

I usually love South Park but that clip compilation was so boring it almost seemed intentionally so. Weird!
Thats because its NOT from the actual show - these are the "cutscenes" from one of the South Park games, in which they reference a lot of the stuff from the show.
the SP games take no prisoners. everything is fair game. they take the no holds barred approach of the show, and crank it to 11.
Who suggested this particular compilation. Shes not gonna get the references from the prior in the video games.

if you havent seen an episode of south park you liked, Id like to recommend season 15 episode 6, City Sushi. I cant imagine anybody in the world disliking that episode and I think it might change your mind about the show.
I cant say what the plot is about cause it will ruin the episode.

Niah southpark before about season 7 is pretty weak, but you are missing some serious funny if you avoid southpark. Also this clip from the video game has alot of inside jokes. They're long play jokes unlike family guy which are quick cut aways not usually about the plot.
Try southpark again! Try Free Wilzyx or Creme Fraiche of Gluten Free Ebola :)
south park is amazing these were just really bad parts of the video game.
South Park Seasons 1 - 4 were probably the only "good seasons" it was fun but as it kept going it became "who can we abuse in this weeks episode?" it just became lame. that is just my 2 cents. :)

I think that it's South Park is juvenile humor. If you have a higher bit of sophistication it's probably not funny or actually insulting. To me the show is hilarious and has been since it began but I totally get that it's not for everyone.
Sitcoms are 100 times dumber tho.
Actually the nuances of the show are for the sophisticated, those that only see the show as fart jokes or juvenile humor lack the capacity to understand the undertones of the show.
@@BurrosSWE that's true but most sitcoms aren't nearly as vulgar. South Park really is a lot more creative than most shows but it's not everyone's type of humor.
@@emcsquare5045 I agree but some people can't see past the rawness of the jokes they use. I'm pretty thick skinned and can separate jokes from insults, some people can't. The way she was instantly turned off by this clip kinda signalled to me she's a bit cut off to see past the crudeness. The "hold my gay flipper" line kills me, she rolled she eyes and was not amused, LoL. The show is not for her.
@@mumm-ratheeverliving2288 they said the same thing about the Simpsons when it came out. And yes, there will always be those that don't have the ability to see beyond the crude aspects, but thats what makes it all that more genius for those than can. Their ability to have a deep societal message that threads along with the fact you never know where they stand politically because no one is spared throughout is brilliant writing.
