This was a really helpful video thankyou. I'm going to try to do something on my quilts.
Great presentation on machine embroidery quilting.
Great tutorial! Thank you! I’m shopping for a new machine and it’s so helpful to see the Luminaire in action!
We are glad the video was helpful. We are always happy to allow you to test drive machines at our local stores. If you are in Washington state stop by your local Quality Sewing & Vacuum stores. If not, visit your local Brother dealer for a test drive.

Just joined this was so helpful you are awsome
Thank you!
Awesome tutorial. Thank u.
You're welcome!
Great tips! Thank you so much. My latest quilted piece with meandering stipple was disappointing because the top thread was pulled right down, so using the ordinary sewing bobbin may well have been the answer especially as I was using the same thread top and bottom. We live and learn!
Sorry to hear that. Usually, those are lessons we only have to learn once. If you ever have questions on a project you are working on give us a call. We are always happy to help! 1-800-687-5175
Same thing happened to me. I did not even think about switching my bobbin back to the sewing bobbin. Thanks for the tip.
Very interesting, thank you.
You're welcome. Thank you for watching.
Great info!
Thank you!
Just getting information and seeing how clueless I’ve been staying happy with my “new” machine purchased in 1995. Lol. Wowza!
Thanks for watching. Sewing & Embroidery machines have come a long way. The new technology is pretty amazing. You should stop by your local dealer and see some of the features of newer machines that make sewing even more fun.
With Clear Blue Tiles….are the tied of knots on the quilt back big or bulky?
Big machine! I have a 5x7” But I also have a big quilter.
Thank you so much... the best learn for me was the 'Free fuse!!!' I'm gunna give that a try. Does the Kimberbell tile pack work with Brothers NQ3550W? seems there is a need for a more advanced machine to use the tiles.
Yes, the Kimberbell tiles work with all embroidery machines. You can learn more about it here or give us a call as we are happy to answer all your questions 1-800-687-5175 www.qualitysewing.com/kimberbell-clear-blue-tiles-essentials-set.html
Is Power Mesh stabilizer Acid Free? Good to know if making an heirloom quilt. Thankyou. HATH
Do you spray baste the layers together?
Do you have a list and where to purchase the items that you mention in the video? I would really be interested in that "salt" stuff you spoke about, as well as the sticky tape stuff
You can find all the products featured in this video at www.qualitysewing.com. Here is a link directly to the Free Fuse you mentioned. It is amazing! www.qualitysewing.com/quilter-s-select-free-fuse-powder.html
Will this work on my nq3600D Brother?
what I always wanted to know. Do you put the sandwich together and hoop or do you hoop each block and somehow put them together. One day I will try this on a small quilt (really small!) Thank you.
You put the sandwich together and hoop the whole thing.
can you use free fuse on polyester minky as a backing for the quilt?
You can but be carful as some of those fabrics do not do well with heat and you do need to apply heat from an iron to fuse it together. Maybe test it on a scrap piece first to ensure the heat will not damage your fabric.
I have a panel quilt, where the batting and backing are not larger than the top. Are you adding 1 layer of power mesh to the edge (basting it thru all three layers), or are you basting a layer of power mesh to each layer separately?
We slipped the power mesh in between the layers and then basted the edges to secure.
@@QualitySewingWA Thank you
Can you do this without stabilizer?
What in the name of the fusible that shakes on like a salt shaker?
It is called Free Fuse and it is a game changer. Once you try it you won't want to use a spray ever again www.qualitysewing.com/quilter-s-select-free-fuse-powder.html
What is it that you have your spool of thread on that is on the top of the machine?
That is the built in thread stand that comes with the Brother Luminaire XP
Can you use the Bernette B79 to quilt embroidery with?
Absolutely. Quilt your project one hoop. The B79 has a 6x10” hoop with a release leaver that will help make hooping easier.
Will the Aventura 11 do quilting patterns? Does it have any built in?
Give our team a call and they can answer any questions you might have 1-800-687-5175 about various machines and what they can do.
how small hoop can I use. Would 6x10 be okay
Quilting in the hoop can be done with any size hoop, even a 4x4. The larger the hoop the more space can be quilted at a time. A 6x10 is great. Happy Sewing!
Would a embroidery machine with a small 5x7 hope only work with the kimberbell product?
We are not 100% sure what you are asking. Give our online team a call 1-800-687-5175 and we will be able to answer all your questions. Thanks!
Would I be able to use the 4x4 hoop to quilt in my verve? Sewing and embroidery machine?
Unfortunately, that hoop only works with the Baby Lock Bloom and Accord machines.
is that magnetic hoop for the brother only?
There is one for the Brother machine and one for Baby Lock. They are exclusive to those machines.
What type of thread do you use for wuilting
We have a blog post on the various types of threads and when to use them. Hopefully, this will be helpful for you! www.qualitysewing.com/blog/revas-tip-its-the-thread-that-can-make-a-difference/
How do you take a picture and get it in your embroidery machine to embroidery it? Tutorial please! Thank you

@@QualitySewingWA thank you! i notice when i do quilting in the hoop on quilts the back is not as even as front. do you still use embroidery thread? when quilting in the hoop a quilt
@@youbkyou When a machine does embroidery it knows that the needle thread needs to be longer to reach around the back so that it shows. The bobbin thread is shorter. When we quilt with embroidery , the machine doesn’t know that we are quilting vs. regular embroidery.
When quilting/embroidery, consider l: tightening up your needle tension to regular sewing tension and use sewing bobbin case vs. embroidery bobbin case.
Embroidery or quilting thread can be used with great success. Consider matching needle and bobbin thread.
@@QualitySewingWA thank you!!!!! thank you!!!!!!!! that was what i was wondering!!!!!!! appreciate you ❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@youbkyou You're welcome! Happy to help.
May not be for the older pfaff 7570
Do you have to own an embroidery machine
To "quilt in the hoop" you do have to have a machine that does embroidery too. If you want to free-motion quilt or quilt with rulers you can do that with most sewing machines. Quilting in the hoop is a specific type of project that does require embroidery.

Those $5,000-$11,000 computerized embroidery machines need to be money earners and not just for
a hobby!!!
Everyone has them for different uses. You can do a quilting or embroidery business with most machines or simply sew because you love it.
