Great video! I’m just beginning with machine embroidery and quilting. I never thought I could quilt as my Mother was an award winning quilter who stitched by hand. I knew I could never do as well as my Mom. Now, learning machine embroidery quilting is an option, it really excites me! Thanks for such a helpful video!
what I always wanted to know. Do you put the sandwich together and hoop or do you hoop each block and somehow put them together. One day I will try this on a small quilt (really small!) Thank you.
We are glad the video was helpful. We are always happy to allow you to test drive machines at our local stores. If you are in Washington state stop by your local Quality Sewing & Vacuum stores. If not, visit your local Brother dealer for a test drive.
Great tips! Thank you so much. My latest quilted piece with meandering stipple was disappointing because the top thread was pulled right down, so using the ordinary sewing bobbin may well have been the answer especially as I was using the same thread top and bottom. We live and learn!
Sorry to hear that. Usually, those are lessons we only have to learn once. If you ever have questions on a project you are working on give us a call. We are always happy to help! 1-800-687-5175
Thank you so much... the best learn for me was the 'Free fuse!!!' I'm gunna give that a try. Does the Kimberbell tile pack work with Brothers NQ3550W? seems there is a need for a more advanced machine to use the tiles.
Yes, the Kimberbell tiles work with all embroidery machines. You can learn more about it here or give us a call as we are happy to answer all your questions 1-800-687-5175 www.qualitysewing.com/kimberbell-clear-blue-tiles-essentials-set.html
Thanks for watching. Sewing & Embroidery machines have come a long way. The new technology is pretty amazing. You should stop by your local dealer and see some of the features of newer machines that make sewing even more fun.
Do you have a list and where to purchase the items that you mention in the video? I would really be interested in that "salt" stuff you spoke about, as well as the sticky tape stuff

I have a panel quilt, where the batting and backing are not larger than the top. Are you adding 1 layer of power mesh to the edge (basting it thru all three layers), or are you basting a layer of power mesh to each layer separately?
Quilting in the hoop can be done with any size hoop, even a 4x4. The larger the hoop the more space can be quilted at a time. A 6x10 is great. Happy Sewing!
It is called Free Fuse and it is a game changer. Once you try it you won't want to use a spray ever again www.qualitysewing.com/quilter-s-select-free-fuse-powder.html
You can but be carful as some of those fabrics do not do well with heat and you do need to apply heat from an iron to fuse it together. Maybe test it on a scrap piece first to ensure the heat will not damage your fabric.

@@QualitySewingWA thank you! i notice when i do quilting in the hoop on quilts the back is not as even as front. do you still use embroidery thread? when quilting in the hoop a quilt
@@youbkyou When a machine does embroidery it knows that the needle thread needs to be longer to reach around the back so that it shows. The bobbin thread is shorter. When we quilt with embroidery , the machine doesn’t know that we are quilting vs. regular embroidery. When quilting/embroidery, consider l: tightening up your needle tension to regular sewing tension and use sewing bobbin case vs. embroidery bobbin case. Embroidery or quilting thread can be used with great success. Consider matching needle and bobbin thread.

Absolutely. Quilt your project one hoop. The B79 has a 6x10” hoop with a release leaver that will help make hooping easier.
I have a panel quilt, where the batting and backing are not larger than the top. Are you adding 1 layer of power mesh to the edge (basting it thru all three layers), or are you basting a layer of power mesh to each layer separately?
We slipped the power mesh in between the layers and then basted the edges to secure.

Quilting in the hoop can be done with any size hoop, even a 4x4. The larger the hoop the more space can be quilted at a time. A 6x10 is great. Happy Sewing!

is that magnetic hoop for the brother only?
There is one for the Brother machine and one for Baby Lock. They are exclusive to those machines.
