Otiria, Moerewa and Kawakawa - Four projects to reduce flooding: Te Reo Māori

Major rain events in 2007, 2011, 2014 and 2020 saw floodwaters enter homes, businesses, schools, marae and sports clubs across Northland, with Otiria, Moerewa and Kawakawa among the most impacted.
Local hapū, community representatives, landowners and other key partners (stakeholders) have been working together on projects to reduce the frequency and severity of flooding in these locations. Funding has been allocated from a combination of sources for four projects (the first of which was completed in early 2021). This video gives a high-level overview.
