Stunning 108! With American spec headlights. In South Africa we only had leather interior option which I believe was locally sourced as they were ckd units assembled locally and only in S and SE. I notice that the previous owner deleted the twin rear pipes which give an even better sound under power! Thanks for a great review.😊
Fergus Dublin Ireland I'm looking for a 280SE ASAFP 😆 BUT, I've a Mercedes Cls 250 and a Jaguar XF, to sell. Wont do trade in to get the 68- 74 280SE, as I want t buy from a dry Climate. See you soon, congrats on a great show! 🤗😊👍
I grew up in Durban, South Africa and had a Burgundy 71 108 280S, twin carb Auto with brown leather seats. It was a gorgeous car. Started even better than this one. Literally as you started putting pressure on the key the engine was running, just incredible. I've never found another car that started that easily. When you commented "imagine driving this to work" I laughed because I don't have to. I did exactly that for several years and it was great.
In 1983 as a new (ish) driver at 19, I was helping a friend with some building work on a cottage near Wisley on Surrey, close to where the M25 now passes. In the shed of a nearby house was a pine green 1968 280S, neglected but straight. I was offered it for £50 if I could find a trailer. 1. I was afraid of M-B complexity. 2. I couldn't find a trailer. I turned it down. It was... gorgeous. Inside and out. Green interior. Green exterior. Tired and shabby, but straight and rust-free. Only 15 years old, although at that tome they hadn't get become "cool". Anyway... I'll never know what might have been. The truth is, even of I'd got it running, I couldn't have afforded the petrol. It was approaching £1.70 a gallon in 1983... which is over 37p a litre. 😮

That 280 engine gives you 13 mpg in town and 18 on a run. Painful memories of a 1983 280te I had in 1993-4.
Yes they are horrific 😂

What an incredible story! And they are amazing things.

Omg that’s incredible!
I want that, it’s only the complete lack of the asking price that’s preventing me.
It just sold yesterday 😂
How much will it be?
It’s will be £16000

There is a plate under the bonnet dude

Just got one with only 68000 original miles. My steering is in the right side.lol
I'm used to Honda reliability :-) Can I drive a Benz like this for years and years without breaking down?
God forbid you get rear-ended without headrests. Life-altering event.
Hey how about ,less of you and more of the car?
No deal.
Stop talking !
