Thank you for the detailed walkthrough. Let’s definitely start a group. I have the L1800 and stopped doing wet capping because it caused ink contamination. Took the printhead out, cleaned it and now she’s petting like new.
I always use Windex with distilled water for my cleaning. It will need to be the original Windex with ammonia and the ratio is around 10:1 water to Windex. It seems to work great and keeps the ink cleaned out. Kind of funny but I actually did the paper towel method before I seen this video, on my 4800, and it worked great!
I got a l1800 probably 6 months ago and have been scared to death to rip into it...but your videos sure calm my nerves enough to give it a try....I would like to lean on you for instruction if you dont mind...it will be after Christmas
Definitely! If you want direct access to me, I would also recommend joining the Facebook group (facebook.com/groups/eleganteditsprintsociety) and or subscribing to my Patreon (www.patreon.com/eleganteditsprintsociety)
Hello, your video was most helpful in allowing me to clean my printhead. Now that I have the printhead back together - What do I do if my yellow has air pockets in the damper, and the black will not come through.
You can try to manually pull ink through the damper, with a syringe. If that doesn't work, you may have to replace both of the dampers. They are very cheap and easy to replace. Sometimes the dampers wear down, over time.
Have you ever taken the printhead apart? More than the iron piece? I’m asking because it seems like we’re gonna run into the issue a lot where we have to replace the print head. I followed this video and cleaned the printhead as thorough as you have and the first few prints come out, perfect but then I begin to get this light streaks with faded white. If you have a video where you take apart the printhead, I’ll watch!
@elegant_edits do you have any idea what the issue is… I replaced dampers, ink, print head and ink pad because no ink comes front print head. Still nothing. I need some ideas. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated . Do you sell parts or service L1800’s? Thank you !
We have to have 6 channels for CMYKWW, but the printer wasn't originally designed for the two white channels. We have to assign two of the channels to white, and then change the ink order in the RIP software, to match what is in the printer's ink lines.
I have a printer l1800 we change motherboard, print head , we clean the machine every part , do maintenance every week ,and still don’t print , computer send the design , printer receives , but no ink circulation ,no idea what happens , can you help me,to find what is wrong.thanks
Hello, Thank you for your really helpful videos, I really like these😊Could you please tell me where do you buy a DTF color for your printer Epson L1800, or what brand of the color you use, please? Thank you very much! 😊
Thank You for the video. I bought an L1800 8 months ago and finally got the software set up but the printer has dried up. I have removed the head and waiting for the head cleaning fluid to arrive. Do I also need to clean out the hoses that carry the ink from the tanks?
Awesome video. Im hoping you could help me. My L1800 stopped printing all together, everything runs like it should, just no ink being put down. I did a head clean (software and rainfall type) but still nothing. Someone told me that my motherboard went out so i replaced it. Its printing now but only magenta and whites, no other colors. Do you have any advice?
You should make sure the dampers are primed, because if there is an air bubble in your dampers or your lines, you won't have ink flow on those channels.
A group would be awesome because we would be able to view a video and discuss what was shown. That way, a simple search would give answers instead of you answering the same questions over and over. With that said, what is Qimage for?
@@elegant_edits Ok. I remember that video but I didn’t catch the name of the software. But you used it again in this video. I didn’t catch how or why you used it in this instance. Did you only use it to print the test page?
Good morning I have a new modified Epson L1800 for dtf but when i start printing there are small bubbles like foam rising from my wast ink pad to my print head. Then i have wast ink on my paper. Can you help me with this problem please
Thanks for watching the videos. That sounds like ink starvation. I would start with checking the dampers; to see if you have reverse flow back to the tanks (where the dampers have an air bubble in the plastic chamber). I would also make sure you're shaking your dampers every other day, at minimum, just to keep the ink from separating. It may also be an issue with either over filling your ink tank or letting it run too low. I would create a white rectangle in your design software, then cut an A3 sheet down, into 4x6. Then create a template within AcroRip, with the dimensions of 4x6. Then print the rectangle long ways and see how the white lays down, before committing to another full sized print.
Hello. I have a L1800 printer and no matter what I did I couldn't unclog the magenta color. I don't think the problem is caused by the clogged head anymore. Because when I clean with software, sometimes 10 pores are clogged, sometimes 5 pores. When I clean it many times, magenta opens, I get 5-10 prints, but then it gets clogged again. Could this problem still be caused by the clogged head? Or could it be another problem? By the way, I usually do the head wash with isopropyl alcohol. Thanks in advance for your help.
Hi i have epson l1800 and was having trouble with whites printing so after follow several you tube videos a removed my printer head and plunged cleaning solution through the white nipples until they cleared. i put it all back together again and now i have no colours coming through at all i did notice some ink on the printing ribbons which i cleaned off i have did serveral head clenas and replaced all the dampers with new one but still dont have any ink colours printing'...hhhheeelllppppp
When ever you perform a reverse flush, from the dampers, you will need to reprime the dampers and then perform two or three head cleaning cycles, in order to get ink flowing back to the head.
Hello I'm Rainer, my DTF printer does not print anymore. With a syringe I tried cleaning fluid into the printhead to press. Can it be that the motherboard got a short circuit? Hope very much you have an idea. Greetings from Spain
Yes, there may have been a moment where either you had static in you body and touched the board or cleaning solution may have gotten on the connecter ports, for the ribbon cables. If you search some of the facebook groups, I believe some people have mentioned blowing a fuse on the board (I think it's the f4 fuse).
Hello, I am currently facing a problem with the Syringe method for my white ink. The ink doesn't seem to move from the damper to the syringe and there was a lot of resistance when I pull on the syringe. I tried your method but the problem still persist, do you have any idea how can I solve my issue?
This means that your head is actually clogged, beyond the manifold. The only way to remedy this would be to actually remove the head and carefully soak it in warm cleaning solution. Just be Extremely careful; not to get cleaning solution on the ribbon cable connectors or it will fry the components.
If you are using AcroRip, You can Try, selecting the cyan color ticker and lowering that ink limit, for that specific channel. Since you are lowering the amount of cyan that is being printed, it should make your grey color more true. Hope this helps. If you need this demonstrated, skip to the 2:27:57 marker and I demonstrate this, in my latest video: ua-cam.com/video/fdIyuVjzK2c/v-deo.html

My L1800 prints thin white ink i have to use syringe to suck all white ink from damper and refill it into inktank so i can have thicker white layer, i have to do this every 3 day Is that mean my damper is bad or my white ink is bad, i still not open business and i only print small sample of film everyday to keep my printer alive
You have to do that because the white ink contains latex. Over time, the latex separates (suspends) from the rest of the ink. When this happens, you're not printing the full white ink formula, which causes the whites to appear opaque. Every so often, just shake your white dampers and the ink tank (reservoir) and it shouldn't be as bad. You will still need to manually pull with the syringe every now and then, because the inks start to recede. We can't stop gravity!
Please send me an email and then we can link up. I've been spread pretty thin, with becoming a DTF supplier and running the shop, by myself. info@eleganteditsco.com
