But, it's not. No Phil Spector or Phillies. (It's the short lived Buddah Records version) Produced by Stan Vincent. Not even the backing group known as the "Ronettes". The back-up were Denise Edwards and actress Kim Fields mom Chip Fields. Never charted.
Baby do you know what you did today? Baby do you know what you took away? You took the blue out of the sky My whole life changed when you said goodbye And I keep cryin', cryin' Oh baby, oh baby I wish I never saw the sunshine I wish I never saw the sunshine 'Cause if I never saw the sunshine baby Then maybe I wouldn't mind the rain Every day is just like the day before All alone, a hundred miles from shore All of my dreams, I dream with you Now they will die and never come true And so I'm cryin', cryin' Oh baby, oh baby I wish I never saw the sunshine I wish I never saw the sunshine 'Cause if I never saw the sunshine baby Then maybe I wouldn't mind the rain There wouldn't be this pain And I know there wouldn't be Cloud that's over me everywhere I go Oh baby, oh baby I wish I never saw the sunshine I wish I never saw the sunshine But if I never saw the sunshine baby Then maybe I wouldn't mind the rain I wouldn't mind the rain Oh, that pain Oh, that rain That sunshine
Yes definitely the wrecking crew at Gold Star. Phil decided not to release it because he didn’t think it would reach top 10. Song is incredible wish it was on a 45
Personally, this song just doesn't do it for me. Especially where she sings "Oh, Baby, oh Baby" - it sounds off key or the chords just don't "matchup." This song never charted & I can hear why. But music's subjective & this is just my opinion.
This song came out decades before I was born and it's a masterpiece. Rest in peace good Lady. Be with the angels.
Ronnie is an Angel
I wish music could be like this again because this, is an absolute masterpiece
Beth Orton did a beautiful cover of this equally beautiful song
Just found this video too, shes great
Ronnie recorded her vocals in one take. No studio tricks, just her amazing voice and pure emotion.
Rest in peace good Lady. You are a legend.
My favorite song from The Ronettes. It sounds so big and magical
What a beautiful, sad song. 😢 RIP Ronny Spector.
Such a different theme for The Ronettes,,, lyrical and sad, yet delivered so well. Thank you.
RIP Veronica Bennet aka Ronnie Spector, she was the greatest
Thanks so much for posting. RIP Ronnie. One of the all-time greats.
R.I.P Ronnette, you are my favorite singer of the 60's, now you are singing for Jesus, God bless you Ronnete. 💞
one of the ronettes are still alive, nedra talley, but estelle and veronica is dead
R.I.P. Ronnie ✨
I wish popular music now would have these great orchestral movements. Just spectacular.

I wouldn’t mind the rain…
Baby do you know what you did today?
Baby do you know what you took away?
You took the blue out of the sky
My whole life changed when you said goodbye
And I keep cryin', cryin'
Oh baby, oh baby
I wish I never saw the sunshine
I wish I never saw the sunshine
'Cause if I never saw the sunshine baby
Then maybe I wouldn't mind the rain
Every day is just like the day before
All alone, a hundred miles from shore
All of my dreams, I dream with you
Now they will die and never come true
And so I'm cryin', cryin'
Oh baby, oh baby
I wish I never saw the sunshine
I wish I never saw the sunshine
'Cause if I never saw the sunshine baby
Then maybe I wouldn't mind the rain
There wouldn't be this pain
And I know there wouldn't be
Cloud that's over me everywhere I go
Oh baby, oh baby
I wish I never saw the sunshine
I wish I never saw the sunshine
But if I never saw the sunshine baby
Then maybe I wouldn't mind the rain
I wouldn't mind the rain
Oh, that pain
Oh, that rain
That sunshine
Thank you so so much, a frenchy fan !😉😘
...And happy new year!!!
❤
so meny greats songs
okay i found my new favorite girls
This song literally predicts her life, when she had to move to California which was “the sunshine”. “The rain” which was New York.
RIP
Was this recorded at Gold Star, and is that the Wrecking Crew? Sounds like Hal Blaine on drums.
Definitely the Wrecking Crew, not sure where this was recorded
