Thank you for the review, I currently have an older 2013 Tepui Gran Sabana with the overhang at the front door, so far the tent has held up and the overhang keeps you dry, I wish other tent manufacturers would incorporate that older design into the newer products. Every time it rains we always come back to my tent, only because of that overhang shelter built into the design. Great review as always. Cheers from California.
Just got this exact one last week and mounted up on my Billie Bars!. Going on first camp trip this Friday. We have a gen 3, 2023 Colorado with same size bed as yours. One odd thing, with our tent mounted exactly as yours with the ladder on passenger side, my external plug is on the left rear corner and my inside power strip is located opposite side of yours. I thought maybe your camera framing was backwards but it doesn't appear to be. Anyway, YES, this tent is AWESOME!!
Curious about where the hardshell portion hinges, how it is right up against that little bottom window, I wonder if rain will go down that into the window if it’s open? Would like to see that even if it was just a garden hose test. ✌️🇺🇸
Very interested in this tent. Can you please let me know if you can leave sleeping bags and pillows in the tent and still be able to close it? Also, how is the mattress? I'm a side sleeper and find most of these thinner mattresses not to comfortable.
Maybe I missed it but are you able to utilize the diamond back bed cover with the tent on? Seems like you only have access through the gate with rack on correct?
Pros : Advanced design slick exterior . Hidden X hinge , 4 windows tall inside covered poles blackout fabric. Minimal rainfly poles makes setup fast . Power bank and lights. Cons : plastic roof without top bars for extra stackable storage(aluminum better), no cold weather insulation or dedicated duct .no slanted soft ladder stairs . Questions: Is a cold weather insulation liner available ? Is an awning anex available ? Is the top well sealed to the floor during transport? Comments: I LOVE everything else about this tent ! How wide are gaps around the edge when closed? In a few shots, they look fairly wide and no rubber gasket to keep water out.
Would the original Bama-Tent you reviewed be small enough to install like this new tent. I really like the low profile configuration. Thx!
