South Dakota would welcome you with open arms winters are tough here, but you would be looking at probably living the western part of the state where it’s a little warmer, but they do get their snow like in the Black Hills area
I bought a rebuilt transmission out of Portland for my old pickup. Great unit! Then I got a call from my bank asking if I had been to the movies South of Portland. I hadn't. Just under $50 so they didn't investigate. Didn't cost me anything.
Just sell all the computer monitors.. and the brake smell is probably sticking front callipers .. I’d recommend replacing them and the hydraulic hoses..right away.. when they stick to the point the steering wheel starts shaking.. you risk a fire and or warped rotor. Need to check the rotors temperature after a few hard stops.. then drive a few miles and coast to a stop and check the temperature of each rotor
I had this happen on my truck, replaced the calipers, flushed the system and it still was happening. Turns out the front rubber lines were causing the issue. Before I replaced everything it would take 1/2 mile before the rotors were glowing.
@@White000Crow exactly , I say replace both hoses and callipers as he drives far.. and can’t be stressed out and stranded ..plus that vehicle sat for a long time.. moisture goes to the lowest part of the system.
dextron 3 was phased out, the replaced it with dex/merc. if I'm not mistaken they are phasing that out too. if you cant find the dex/merc dextron VI is the replacement for II and III. put you a bottle of lucus stop slip in as well.
I gotta do the same.. less is more ! I have a bunch of them Amazon bubble envelopes.. and a few boxes and junk in my storage shed. And for what, all I do is move it around.. such waste of time, space and energy.
If the misfire feeling you’re experiencing , is say intermittently and very light.. not a definite drop.. then it’s probably not ignition related.. more like fuel .. not sure if you did anything with the injectors ? Is the EGR still on it ?
One thing about those 4L 80 transmissions you have to wait a bit after you go into reverse before you go into forward reverse servo pistons on those blow out real easy it's been a problem with the two that I got you have to get the valve body off
You’re gonna freeze in South Dakota or Montana. Montana had massive snow just a couple weeks ago. Not gonna be anything like Washington or Oregon it’s gonna be two months of not freezing basically every year and very very desolate very windy very lonely😢

Dropping the trans pan would give you a good idea how the trans is looking.

@@462ANIMAL the parts for my ‘92 F250 were under $250 for rotors, calipers and hoses. Definitely worth the investment.
Why not head south where it's warmer? Tennessee is awesome! Winters aren't bad and you are still in a red state!

Are you going to tow your truck with RV once your set up is all finished
That's the plan

There is a pin or plate to pull out on the small door opened up and. Ball folded down.
Make sure the distributor bearing is not worn and orbiting.
I wonder if the kickdown switch needs adjusted after you tore it all apart.
Do a trans filter and oil change, always try that first

i have the same exact truck & i was getting the same issues get a trans cooler i lost my gears due too overheating trans
Man it’s crazy how close our efforts seem to align. I’ve just finished emptying both my storage units to save $
Are you sure the ball didn't screw on
Why don't you invest in a manual valve body then you can control which gear its in
You should run about 2000 rpm in 4th.
60 below. Wind from hell.
Determination is key for success
I'll give you $20.00 for the 8 ball
