As an actually self employed person, my income isn't at risk as long as I continue to do my job. I don't need to live a certain lifestyle to get recruits and customers. I don't rely on anyone to make me money, though I do have a single part time employee, if she quit, it wouldn't affect my income, I'd just have to do her job. Guess that's the real difference between actually owning a business and pretending you do.

She quit all her legit esthetician jobs years ago and her only "stable" income was the MLM. Worst part she and her family of 4 just bought a new house in a new state and moved maybe 48 hours before the news broke.
She actually was crying not because of a downline but because she was afraid she wouldn’t be able to sell enough to keep her affiliate status. She is not a big recruiter.

i know why that is! You're engaging in anti mlm content so your ads are going to reflect that. However, the algorithm is stupid. It just sees you engaging in mlm content so it gives you mlm ads. It's better that you, who knows the dangers and won't join, sees those ads instead of someone who might actually be desperate enough to give it a try. So the mlm is wasting money in paying for the ad you watch! It's a good thing!
I just don’t think in a market as saturated as beauty that they’re products are gonna be innovative enough, price fair enough & quality up to par to get beauty lovers to forgo the brands they love & trust to take a risk on them. Especially in a time where you can get incredible products at all price points & if you’re inherently anti-mlm idk if you’ll change your mind due to this. That said, I’m glad to see any more ethical choices & any mlm fall
I assume the affiliate model won't be exclusive. Regardless, they'll no longer be able to advertise it as an unlimited earning opportunity as it was advertised from recruiting; there will be more realistic and transparent earning expectations on the distributors side, but on the corporate side it frees the company to introduce their products at retail, which would be more bad news for distributors but not necessarily the brand. They could offer a significant price discount to volume distributors to offset the saturation of retail availability, but who knows. The company's interest will be to move product regardless of the channel. I'm sure there's a bit of wait-and-see but the bottom line won't change.
@stevew I don’t expect them to give reps any kind of discount… they’re charging them an annual fee just for the “privilege” of selling their product 🙄 which is definitely just their way of wringing the last few dollars out of their reps before everyone bails. I don’t think Seint will survive to 2025, personally 🤷

Yeah I've Heard seint is shit from actual makeup artists who have used it. I used to do makeup professionally but I've not in years and I've never used seint. Definitely not spending my own money on that bs 😂
I was in it back in the day when it was called Maskcara. It gave me the worst breakout I’ve ever had in my entire life. Still today no makeup has ever made me break out so bad.

There are people crying that they're going to lose up to 90% of their income with the shift to an affiliate program, which means about 90% of their income is coming from recruiting and not sales.

For example, Sol De Janeiro is owned by L'occitane,which has an MLM branch for L'occitane itself, along with owning an MLM company, Limelife. Since i am very much anti-MLM, i have not purchased anything from Sol De Janeiro since they sold out to L'occitane in 2021, but i never see anyone else who doesnt support them because of it, so im curious what peoples opinions are about it.

Former Maskara Artist here…1 the makeup is NOT that good, 2 building a team is what made you money (that’s why I quit bc my up line put too much pressure on me plus the products weren’t good and the color matching was ridiculously awful), 3 everyone is now moving to Oliveda and I just can’t with all of these businesses…Oh and there’s NUSkin as well. Like I do like some of the products from NuSkin BUT I don’t want to have to build a team just to join in order to take advantage of discounts lol just give me the discounts and if the products good I will recommend it willingly not bc I’m forced to.

Don't know if it's all or Select stores. But just some helpful info they do have some very nice materials from the ones I saw in store.
I joined scentsy in 2015. Then i was in younique for a minute. The make-up was awful but i liked the skincare on my sensitive skin, then they changed it. Then i realized how unethical and scammy mlms are. I paid more than i ever made.
Same with Perfectly Posh. I was with them for a few years and had a downline of 46. And I got like $50/month lol. They treated me like crap. And they kept discontinuing popular products and changing to cheaper formulations of other products. I won't have anything to do with mlm's anymore.

This happened with a coworker of mine who was talking about some product then later in the day got an ad on Amazon about it.

I’ve seriously never gotten more compliments than when I wear Seint though. 😩 I’ve tried so many “dupes” and they just do not work like Seint does. I use it so lightly that it just looks like a no-makeup/makeup look but lasts so long. Open to any suggestions on dupes people have used. I don’t care if it’s in the same palette or not.
