Oh man, I remember watching this music video on Fuse on Sunday Mornings on "Victory TV", good fucking times. I feel so old, that was 13 years ago...and I was 13 when watching
Im 37 and an emo kid at heart. This shit is just real shit. Doesn't matter age. Just real life. Learn life and learn its hard regardless of how old you are.
damn, first time I heard this song was on one of those victory records music video CDs that came with the Hawthorne Heights Silence In Black and White cd I bought back in jr high school lol
Dude, these guys got me through some rough days back in 2010-11 and no shit I would listen to bayside on repeat 🔁 for over a year at one point and I could do that again in 2024
Holy shit man, listened to em all heavy in the early-mid 2000s. Atreyu, Hawthorne Heights, Funeral for a friend, Underoath, The Used, Brand New, Armor for sleep, Scary Kids Scaring Kids and so many others. But somehow I just found this band in 2020! Like a gem buried in the ground. They remind me of Alkaline Trio a lot.
the other day this girl told my friend she was too old for this kind of music... w t f. please, we are almost 28. i love this just as much as when i was 18!! so much feels.
This is "True Emo". Not the emo ruined by greedy corporations trying to milk off every dollar from you by over saturating it with generic chord progressions and non original lyrical themes. Bayside knows how to play emo the right way. I feel that they play more of a tougher emo with more originality in their lyrics.
Trying to create something that's not there. A spark I saw as a bomb is just a means to an end. And I was just so happy to be out of my shell again, Don't think that I really cared for who or what. So for now I'll just have to keep it shut. If you're not ready, you're not ready. Please stop acting like you are. How could I know That everything you say are lies about devotion and desire? And I know the spark inside your eyes Was just the match I used to set myself on fire. My mouth's shooting blanks. Situation's unbearable, I've gotten vulnerable. Now anyone is free to waltz right in. My temple's been invaded And there's nobody guarding it. All over this lonely life, But what's so wrong with being all alone? Alone's the only way I've ever known. If you're not ready, you're not ready. Please stop acting like you are. How could I know That everything you say are lies about devotion and desire? And I know the spark inside your eyes Was just the match I used to set myself on fire. I'm pleading cause this kills and it's still bleeding. My darling I'm taking my life back to start healing. How could I know That everything you say are lies about devotion and desire? And I know the spark inside your eyes Was just the match I used to set myself on fire
I played that game as a kid and this song stuck with me for years. I looked up the lyrics to it recently to listen to it again and figure which band made it. It's even cooler than I remember and now I'm looking forward to listening to more music from Bayside.
i got the dvd with a special edition hawthorne heights cd years and years ago from best buy. i still have it somewhere and its still watched on friday nights lol
I got my friend hooked on this bad in middle school. These songs have helped me through a lot of shit. When she was having a hard time I passed them on to her. She was instantly hooked
Being the youngest of 3 and the only boy in my family may have had its downsides, but my sisters showed me some awesome music along the way!!! Love you BAYSIDE!🤘
Do y’all knees hurt like mine??? Feels just like yesterday I watched this on Fuse in the mornings before school when they played the Victory Records/Fueled By Ramen videos

god this song is so amazing. the best way to listen is in the car on the way to and from school, blasting and singing it at the top of my lungs with the windows down. i always liked bayside but when i really started to listen to them they became so much more to me.
my wife's fav band! the emotion these boys have, especially after their drummer passed. You can tell that the past 10 years have been wild for them. dat stage life will take yours.
FINALLY. IVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THIS SONG FOR THE LONGEST TIME AND TODAY I COMPLETELY FORGOT IT AND ALL I COULD REMEMBER WAS EMOTION BUT THEN IT WAS DEVOTION AND I REMEMBERED THE TOON IN THE BATHROOM AND IM SO HAPPY I FINALLY FOUND IT
A lot if this music brings me back to the most painful parts of life. If it wasn't for music like this to bring me up from really dark places i dont know where i would be.
Been listening to Bayside since 2005, incredible band. Met Anthony and Jack at a demo show they had at Sam Goody in San Antonio, Texas and they were so nice and humble. We even created a custom hand shake that I won't forget.
I also saw them live two months after John Beatz died and when Anthony and Jack played their acoustic set, it was so amazing this song was amazing live especially acoustically.
This album came out the summer I graduated high school and I loved it to death. I'm pretty sure I burned a hole in that cd listening to this song and Montauk relentlessly day after day. The whole album made such an impression on me that I COULDN'T AVOID LISTENING TO IT CONSTANTLY. 2yrs later they put out Walking Wounded and forget it, I destroyed 3 of those cd's from over-listening. THen I grew up a bit and stopped listening to Bayside obsessively. But the other day, I threw this album and Walking Wounded on for old times-sake. I quickly realized how these songs hit me the same way as back then but they've taken on a whole new meaning because now I'm 28, not 18. Regardless, the songs are just as relevant. What makes this album so great (#1) is the honestly genuine lyrics. I think Anthony Raneri approaches his craft in a way that he will be deep inside my head whether I'm 18, 28, 38, 48 etc. What else makes this album great (#2) is the guitar freakouts that come at a relentless pace. This album and Walking Wounded have songs that have 2 or 3 guitar solos apiece. And mind you, those albums came out at a time when guitar solos weren't particularly cool. I'm pretty sure that their guitar styles were another reason I latched on to those albums so hard. If you were a scene kiddo circa 2005-2007, you know what I'm saying. Bayside was the coolest band of that time. They broke trends in a way that made them so much cooler than other bands of that time/genre.. If you weren't a scene kiddo in the golden age, you probably think my post sounds stupid and overly long and you are fully entitled to your opinion, so go enjoy yourself!!!!
It's not bad... It is crazy how I can say I don't like a song, go and listen to it and end up not not liking it as much as I thought. I still don't think I can listen to I Think I'll Be Okay.
2024. Still goes hard af

They opened for Alk3 on a few tours
I love the excitement in this comment. Headed to see them in Denver this weekend for the first time in 17 years. Bayside got me through high school.

I think these guys are punk and also emo
this song is underrated af.. his delivery in the second half of the song is killer

Trying to create something that's not there.
A spark I saw as a bomb is just a means to an end.
And I was just so happy to be out of my shell again,
Don't think that I really cared for who or what.
So for now I'll just have to keep it shut.
If you're not ready, you're not ready.

How could I know
That everything you say are lies about devotion and desire?
And I know the spark inside your eyes
Was just the match I used to set myself on fire.
My mouth's shooting blanks.
Situation's unbearable,
I've gotten vulnerable.
Now anyone is free to waltz right in.
My temple's been invaded
And there's nobody guarding it.
All over this lonely life,
But what's so wrong with being all alone?
Alone's the only way I've ever known.
If you're not ready, you're not ready.
Please stop acting like you are.
How could I know
That everything you say are lies about devotion and desire?
And I know the spark inside your eyes

I scream this song Everytime I hear it.... How could I know everything you said weres lies about devotion and desire

I played that game as a kid and this song stuck with me for years. I looked up the lyrics to it recently to listen to it again and figure which band made it. It's even cooler than I remember and now I'm looking forward to listening to more music from Bayside.

Warped tour was amazing
in terms of music in this era, this holds up surprisingly well.
How are were you then and now lol
This song is amazing, the guitar solo is incredible. Do more of their music has guitar solos? This song was the jam back in the day
A lot of Bayside songs has guitar solos. They remind me of Sum 41 meets Alkaline Trio
This album was my bible..lyrics spoke to me, no lie. What an album
Got reccomended this song by a friend, she has good taste in music
That's badass. I want her suggestions too now lol 😆
You have a good friend. Mind was blown in 2005 when my friend introduce us to this

Bayside is THE band....
I first heard this song in 2006 and it still hits just as hard today as it did back then!
This hits too hard.
They are just as good live, I wish I could see them again!
I was playing Senses Fail on Google Home, and this song came on. 2 months later, hooked on Bayside.
Bayside, Story of the Year, and Yellowcard. The holy trinity

I feel the lyrics of the song so deeply after a heartbreak from a girl who used to tell me she loved me.
Best live band I’ve ever seen
First heard in 2008, still listening in 2024 🤘
I also saw them live two months after John Beatz died and when Anthony and Jack played their acoustic set, it was so amazing this song was amazing live especially acoustically.

It's not bad... It is crazy how I can say I don't like a song, go and listen to it and end up not not liking it as much as I thought. I still don't think I can listen to I Think I'll Be Okay.
Remember getting into these guys when I was a little kid from a college baseball video game.
The day I find a dude who listens to bayside as much as I do I will marry him
