Thanks for the comment, mate. I see your point. I have a whole video on each of these games where I go more in-depth, but in the case of Mario Kart Tour, I don't see their monetization as a pay-wall. To me, a pay-wall is something where you can't continue playing the game unless you pay. They certainly do lock parts of the game behind the subscription though, which I would rather have been without. Honestly, I'm just waiting for real-time multiplayer to come around.
@@NimbleThor the monetization is seamless in mk tour, even without membership. But the game itself just lacks content and it really sucks bc the game has a ton of potential. I thought at first they were challenges like the ones on the MK DS, but no. They instead just used a lazy challenge every cup that gets too repetitive after doing it 3 times. Which just sucks, they should make the game's monetization just as seamless as pokemon masters tbh.

You mean that 240p locked graphics game unless you have a high end phone.... Scratch that it's not just that it's 'Recognized brands/models' unless your phone is on that list they don't care if your phone can run it in HD, you're locked at that shitty 240p
@@atcera8714 there isnt much you can take granted for a game equivalent to a pc game, we dont yet deserve this game thats why the optimazation is really high. if any of you out there still using a potato device yes, you dont deserve this game. you probably need some more effort to atleast upgrade and fuck pls... dont complain much.

I'm not sure how often you go back and check out games for yourself, but I think frag has changed dramatically since you reviewed it. The top 1% or so definitely feels P2W for rare characters, but they added a lot of polish and more interesting characters if you wanted to try it again.
So I downloaded again for input, and apparently they added a trophy road system which gives you some of the rarest cards for free, along with a new map and weekly events to participate in for prizes. And the roster is three, maybe 4 times the size it was when it originally came out.
Awesome! It's great to hear that the game is still being taken care of, and that it's improving. I love checking back on games whenever I have time, but I rarely cover the same game twice in a video simply because it's time-consuming, and I want to focus on finding new games. This is amazing news for people just now getting into Frag though! :)
I hope they bring back durango. Btw, this is not a 2019 game but have you played black survival? Such a unique game. I hope it doesn't get shut down like durango:(

I haven't played it but I feel Ailment could have been S tier, also Bullet League has changed its monetization to include some P2W elements, I should know because I bought the battle pass and uninstalled it when this happened, and maybe Auto Chess deserves a bit more love. (lol at the Last Cloudia typo.)
Yeah, Ailment is such a fun game. I really enjoyed it, a great indie game for sure. I'm sad to hear about Bullet League's P2W monetization :/ I was ranking these games based on their state when I covered them, of course. How unfortunate :( Is it still worth playing?
@@NimbleThor It was mostly about making each weapon more powerful, and they said matchmaking would balance it, but then again, it's a pretty unnecessary feature to begin with.
I mostly agree with this list with some exceptions. My own opinion, Black Desert Mobile is very boring. If you build an MMORPG just to show fancy graphics, beautiful moves, then... it's not nice. Most MMORPGs these days make u feel like a god from the get-go. I simply do not agree with this, it doesn't suit me. The mobs/bosses in Black Desert follow exactly this strategy. Just look at the boss shown here. Literally, that guy could as well just be taken and put as a level 60 boss with buffed stats/skills. The second game that disapointed me was Infinitode 2. I was expecting so much fun from it. Instead, did most missions in just a few days, then... boring. The same strategies always. Same mobs(or how those are called, played only for a few days, so Im not used to the terms), same strategy to counter them
I actually really do agree with you that MMORPGs on mobile are too easy, not challenging enough, and they bombard us with too many rewards from the get-go. I don't particularly like that in general. That's also one of the reasons why Oldschool Runescape remains my favorite mobile MMORPG. Infinitode 2 I really enjoyed though. As you play more and more, you'll experience that you need to change strategies multiple times as enemies become stronger and change in composition. It's a great TD for people who like to "upgrade everything", as it'll take a long while to get through it all :) Really cool to hear your thoughts on these games, by the way. BDO mobile was hyped. Takes alot of memory on my phone. Uninstalled after after a month of playing, pretty boring game. OSRS still solid af. Been playing since Miniclip days.

Cod mobile is a game that keeps breaking records in this industry to this day. Making tons of money with no sort of p2w experience, amazing graphics, a LOT of content, etc. It is basically all of the cods mashed into one free to play mobile game

I really did as well, to be honest. But so many people mentioned that after a few weeks, you hit a bit of a paywall as a free player, which was concerning. Has that been your experience too? :)

A game i think you should look at that no one looks at is called toram online. Its been my favorite game for multiple years. Its is a open world mmorpg. So many different skill trees. No monetization. Enless if you want cooler cosmetics. You can even spec out onto multiple different skill trees. This is the coolest mechanic and really alows cool builds. There is a really active player base and Devs are also constantly adding new updates to the game and streaming upcoming changes. A definite must play.

I'm a KOF ALLSTAR player for like a year and I can say that it's an awesome action gacha RPG game which is f2p friendly with alot of events, codes, collabs, free stuff Deserves A tier

Typical Nexon move, it's not the first time they did this. If the game doesn't have enough profit they'll just shut down the game despite still having a large playerbase. They always set their expectations too high they expect everyone to spend hundreds of dollars in their games. One of the reason why so many people hating on Nexon.

The monetization is, in my opinion, great. It's easy to grind almost everything by simply playing, and there are so many players that you're always ranked against people almost equally as good as you. I enjoy it, and I've never paid 😊
I do agre that it's not that different. It just seems and feels better executed than the others in the that sub-genre of MMORPGs. It feels higher quality, in my opinion. If you're talking about the broader category of MMORPGs, I'd always put something like Oldschool Runescpae at the very top, but it's a vastly different type of MMORPG of course. Do you have a favorite MMORPG on mobile that I should play, by the way?

I suppose it comes down to personal preference. Ulala is the most unique idle game I've ever played, mixing co-op MMO gameplay with idle RPG progression is a brilliant idea, and the fact that you can compete as a free player makes the monetization great as well. Might Quest, in my experience, has the most aggressive monetization system I've ever seen; an energy system, a Battle Pass-like subscription, lootboxes, and iAPs to buy gold directly (which is a very scarce resource). So that's the thinking behind the positioning on the list. Doesn't mean you can't have fun with Mighty Quest. I take it that you're having a blast with it? :) Remember that this last is based on my personal opinion on these games. And preferences differ from player to player. Have an awesome day :)

I honestly didn't know what to do about KOF All Stars. I enjoyed the gameplay, but it seems that after a few weeks, you hit a pay-wall. At least that is what others have been reporting. Did you experience the same as a free player? Oh, and thank YOU for watching and commenting - appreciate it 😎

I was kinda debating if I should give it a B or C tier. With real-time multiplayer, I think the game will become great. It's definitely the best kart-racer on mobile already (even despite the monetization). I just hope the multiplayer will be fair. If that's the case, I think it deserves the B spot. OSRS still one of best games ever for mobile (mmorpg) that don't try n take your money + play with people playing on pc + pretty much endless content with weekly updates can't go wrong

Aha, I see what happened here. I did check to make sure that every game included released in 2019. However, I used Android as the standard, since it is easy to find the release date there. On Android, Grimvalor released June 2019 with a free to try version. Since I used Android to check release dates, some games might have released in 2018 on iOS, and some haven't yet released on iOS (but will in 2020). Sorry about the confusion 😅🙏😊
@@skye8899 yeah, this was a big issue in the past. Recently, I've tried to make sure to only cover games that are out on both platforms, or where the developer has promised support for both platforms within reasonable time. I'll continue with that moving forward :)
Grimvalor is free with play pass for 1.99 for the first I think 12 months def unlock more games and you'll definitely beat it before 12 months .. however if you're iOS that doesn't help much unless you also have an Android phone or you know how to access Google play while still using apple ..
I record my voice via a microphone connected to my PC (I use Audacity on my PC), and then use the built-in screen recorder in my OnePlus phone for recording the game footage itself.

I haven't played it but I feel Ailment could have been S tier, also Bullet League has changed its monetization to include some P2W elements, I should know because I bought the battle pass and uninstalled it when this happened, and maybe Auto Chess deserves a bit more love. (lol at the Last Cloudia typo.)
Yeah, Ailment is such a fun game. I really enjoyed it, a great indie game for sure. I'm sad to hear about Bullet League's P2W monetization :/ I was ranking these games based on their state when I covered them, of course. How unfortunate :( Is it still worth playing?
@@NimbleThor It was mostly about making each weapon more powerful, and they said matchmaking would balance it, but then again, it's a pretty unnecessary feature to begin with.
I mostly agree with this list with some exceptions. My own opinion, Black Desert Mobile is very boring. If you build an MMORPG just to show fancy graphics, beautiful moves, then... it's not nice. Most MMORPGs these days make u feel like a god from the get-go. I simply do not agree with this, it doesn't suit me. The mobs/bosses in Black Desert follow exactly this strategy. Just look at the boss shown here. Literally, that guy could as well just be taken and put as a level 60 boss with buffed stats/skills.
The second game that disapointed me was Infinitode 2. I was expecting so much fun from it. Instead, did most missions in just a few days, then... boring. The same strategies always. Same mobs(or how those are called, played only for a few days, so Im not used to the terms), same strategy to counter them
I actually really do agree with you that MMORPGs on mobile are too easy, not challenging enough, and they bombard us with too many rewards from the get-go. I don't particularly like that in general. That's also one of the reasons why Oldschool Runescape remains my favorite mobile MMORPG.
Infinitode 2 I really enjoyed though. As you play more and more, you'll experience that you need to change strategies multiple times as enemies become stronger and change in composition. It's a great TD for people who like to "upgrade everything", as it'll take a long while to get through it all :)

BDO mobile was hyped. Takes alot of memory on my phone. Uninstalled after after a month of playing, pretty boring game. OSRS still solid af. Been playing since Miniclip days.

Cod mobile is a game that keeps breaking records in this industry to this day. Making tons of money with no sort of p2w experience, amazing graphics, a LOT of content, etc. It is basically all of the cods mashed into one free to play mobile game

A game i think you should look at that no one looks at is called toram online. Its been my favorite game for multiple years. Its is a open world mmorpg. So many different skill trees. No monetization. Enless if you want cooler cosmetics. You can even spec out onto multiple different skill trees. This is the coolest mechanic and really alows cool builds. There is a really active player base and Devs are also constantly adding new updates to the game and streaming upcoming changes. A definite must play.

Typical Nexon move, it's not the first time they did this. If the game doesn't have enough profit they'll just shut down the game despite still having a large playerbase. They always set their expectations too high they expect everyone to spend hundreds of dollars in their games. One of the reason why so many people hating on Nexon.

The monetization is, in my opinion, great. It's easy to grind almost everything by simply playing, and there are so many players that you're always ranked against people almost equally as good as you. I enjoy it, and I've never paid 😊

I do agre that it's not that different. It just seems and feels better executed than the others in the that sub-genre of MMORPGs. It feels higher quality, in my opinion. If you're talking about the broader category of MMORPGs, I'd always put something like Oldschool Runescpae at the very top, but it's a vastly different type of MMORPG of course.

How do you put Ulala as an S tier but mighty quest as an F tier?
I suppose it comes down to personal preference. Ulala is the most unique idle game I've ever played, mixing co-op MMO gameplay with idle RPG progression is a brilliant idea, and the fact that you can compete as a free player makes the monetization great as well. Might Quest, in my experience, has the most aggressive monetization system I've ever seen; an energy system, a Battle Pass-like subscription, lootboxes, and iAPs to buy gold directly (which is a very scarce resource).
So that's the thinking behind the positioning on the list. Doesn't mean you can't have fun with Mighty Quest. I take it that you're having a blast with it? :) Remember that this last is based on my personal opinion on these games. And preferences differ from player to player.

I was kinda debating if I should give it a B or C tier. With real-time multiplayer, I think the game will become great. It's definitely the best kart-racer on mobile already (even despite the monetization). I just hope the multiplayer will be fair. If that's the case, I think it deserves the B spot. In the early games, there are definitely bots. If you go into ranked matches, it changes pretty quickly.

Aha, I see what happened here. I did check to make sure that every game included released in 2019. However, I used Android as the standard, since it is easy to find the release date there. On Android, Grimvalor released June 2019 with a free to try version. Since I used Android to check release dates, some games might have released in 2018 on iOS, and some haven't yet released on iOS (but will in 2020).

@@skye8899 yeah, this was a big issue in the past. Recently, I've tried to make sure to only cover games that are out on both platforms, or where the developer has promised support for both platforms within reasonable time. I'll continue with that moving forward :)
Grimvalor is free with play pass for 1.99 for the first I think 12 months def unlock more games and you'll definitely beat it before 12 months .. however if you're iOS that doesn't help much unless you also have an Android phone or you know how to access Google play while still using apple ..

I record my voice via a microphone connected to my PC (I use Audacity on my PC), and then use the built-in screen recorder in my OnePlus phone for recording the game footage itself.
