Anything from 6 to 10 of Ultra Rares (the Vs, VMAX, Full Art, or Gold cards) is a normal number of hits, so you're right in the pocket of average. Though you did get some good upper end cards with the gold Snorlax. Seemed like a pretty good box to me! Everything also checks out as far as how the seals look, the wrapper looks, etc. Timmies are running wild, Rudy.

Why is the seal so loose? I was going to buy a booster box on offer up but noticed the plastic was loose so I assumed it was fake resealed, always thought the seal is suppose to be tight until I seen this video

Guarantee this guy sees that snorlax and kicks himself on what box he opened. Huge pull. One of the lgs stores that opened 100-200 booster boxes said the average pull rate is 7-8 with the least pulls being 6 and most pulls being 11. You hit right in the standard box mark. Yeah, definitely a box I would love to have haha. Mine had 8 hits (average), but nothing super valuable. The problem is that so many youtubers only highlight the hits, so people think that every pack should have Charizards and shiny cardboard, where the fact is, there are usually 2-3 V, 1 VMAX, 1 secret rare and a few regular Holos.
Definitely not a resealed box, the nickname for chilling reign is “chilling pain” bc the pull rates are so terrible.
funny thing is if the Patron kept the boxes he would have pulled that gold snorlax, which is a big hit in the set haha, who knows what else is in there.

Sounds like this patron is a doofus who doenst realize that chilling reign has low pull rates, horrible QC and card quality, and was mad that the market valued has dropped to about $100 on these booster boxes. Then, had buyers remorse and wanted their money back.

Chilling reign is fine.. u may have mistaken it for battle styles that actually had lower pull rate.
Market value has dropped cause hype is fading and pokemon has caught up on printing.
The last 2 sets have had the same pull rate for ultra rares as before. I think it’s that vivid voltage had amazing rares in the reverse spot which made it feel like you got more hits.

Checking the seal quality on camera and then offering the patron his cards after pulling a secret rare Snorlax! This is the integrity I wish every seller had and one of the reasons Rudy is so successful. Good guy.
You get that there's no guarantee these boxes are the same ones, right? I'm not saying it's likely he did this, I doubt it. Just saying it technically proves nothing.

Somehow, considering how much Rudy makes a year from all his investments, I doubt he would bother to even waste his time to dig through any cards and glue the packs back together and reseal the plastic on the boxes. Just common sense.

Absolutely love how the crazy rare foils feel. I pulled a Venusaur EX from an evolutions booster years ago which had similar texturing.
It was sealed by the Pokemon company and sealed again in a case. 2 seals therefore reseal. 🤔

Chilling Reign is notoriously difficult with pull rates. Same with Battle Styles..on the one hand, you can’t expect rainbow secret rares in every pack, but on the other hand, they keep increasing the number of secret rares in each set, which makes collecting a nightmare! Lol

The average "hit" card for Chilling Reign is 1 out of 5 packs, I believe. (Usually just a V card.) 8 hits in a box is slightly above average. The Snorlax and the Full Art Trainer are massive hits though. 💯

If you get to join the cost is you get to pay on the last day of the month to join but don't forget payment is due on the 1st. Also Rudy has mentioned that he has a bundle that will be coming out at release. I have not been following MZ at all. I do think you would have to be kinda dumb to have an opportunity to purchase and choose not to. I plan on hopefully being able to buy a few boxes and putting it in my long term treasure chest with the other long forgotten boxes for my children to find when I cross the rainbow road.

@@HomeCookinMTG I think people who primarily play Pokemon/Yu-Gi-Oh type games call foils "Holos" or "Holographics". I think it's stupid but to each their own.
@@stankylegg1782 Well I know in yugioh it's rarity is indicated by the type of foiling, so any card in yugioh can be rare, unlike magic, where that lightning bolt may be foil, but it's still a common. I don't know how pokemon works though.

I recently bought a couple of Zacian/Zamazenta Elite Trainer Box+ from a seller I hadn't bought from before. The wrappers (around the ETB) were loose and looked really badly resealed. I sent a message to the seller who said they were all like that, I wasn't happy but accepted it. Went into a local store and theirs were sealed in exactly the same way - you have to accept that sometimes the quality control at the factory isn't great nowadays.
Looks like a normal Booster Box to me, I think the Patreon is High on card dust.

Across one box you should usually expect to see 6-8 of the "fancy" cards (V, Vmax, or full art), and then usually you also get 1 secret rare cards (gold like the Snorlax, Rainbow, or alternate art). There is variance, it's never guaranteed, but that's usually the rough common numbers.
The gold snorlax alone pays for the box itself!

A guy who bought some from another huge card seller and said it was resealed because his code cards were the wrong cover in the shiny or non shiny packs.
Ive gotten packs with no codes, i have gotten packs with a missing card and I have gotten packs with all foils. Shit can happen.

I’ve been dealing with a couple of scam sellers. The vast majority of purchases I’ve made have been great, but I received a fake Vivid Voltage booster box the other day, no way any legit booster box weighs 600 grams. Also had someone mark a pre-release sale as shipped a month early so by the time I realized it wasn’t being shipped the 30 day period had already passed.

5 commons, 1 reverse holo, 1 rare or better spot, energy, 3 uncommon and a code. Any common, uncommon, rare or holo rare can be a reverse. Rudy, you must of got a good box, quality is usually ok lately. "Pulls" like the first card you pulled (referred to as a V card) or better, are not guaranteed per box, but can average about 8-14 hits per box. Chilling Reign is notorious for bad pulls, people claiming less then 5 in some boxes. Packs are usually easier to open from the bottom, don't know why but I always open my packs from the bottom. Any gold border card is a secret rare, Snorlax is a major pull for this box, so good job there. Keep up the videos taco man, love your work

I enjoyed this change of pace even though the circumstances were not the greatest. I haven't opened Pokemon since the Japanese VS set in the early 2000's, and those were 30 card boosters to boot.

i bought a few booster boxes from my local shop and they looked exactly the same (with the packaging). also it’s hit and miss. i got alt zapdos in my first one and nothing in box two. new sets are like that, especially battle styles i had awful luck with that expansion.

The guy who returned the box must be really regretting it now
So the rates of pulls are about 4 to 10+ hits per box if opening through a correctly sealed booster box. Hits include V, Vmax, Secret Rares (full art/silver edged cards) Golden Secret Rares (gold holo card). The code card does tell you what your chances are. Green means your best hit from the pack will be a reverse holo and regular non-holo rare. White code card will give you a chance at anything for the rare slot, could be a regular non-holo rare, holo rare or secret/chase rare on top of getting a reverse holo as every pack will have a reverse holo. The card trick is to pull the 4 from the back and move them front so you show the energy card first, then uncommons and the rare slot will be the last card you reveal. Also the fact that Rudy just nonchalantly hits the crazy chase secret golden rare snorlax is funny as hell. Reverse holos exist in the slot before the rare card slot, since post WotC era to counter people trying to weigh packs in order to scalp and look for good booster packs. Elite trainer boxes (ETBs) do not follow the same rules as booser boxes on rate of pulls for hits and you could get no hits or a wash out in 8 to 10 packs depending on the set. Rudy got 8 hits. 1 vmax, 1 full art trainer, 1 secret golden chase rare, and the rest were v cards. That's about what you would expect from a good box. Bad box you would get low hits like 4 but god boxes you can get 12+ hits. Golden secret rares are like 1 in every 3~4 booster boxes so if you are buyin by the case load (6 boosters) you should expect 1 per case. This opening is about average or slightly above for Chilling Reign. You typically get 2-3 full arts (the ones with texture) and 5-6 V cards per box. The quality of your hits are good tho, that Snorlax is worth $100 and the Melong about $30
They finally caught on Rudy, guess the reseals got sloppy. RIP Rudy. But seriously, I have opened two 0 mythic full sealed boxes and felt ripped off. I did not blame the store. Champion Timmy behavior at its best.
The store does have something to do with it to an extent for instance in yugioh a case of 12 booster boxes is guaranteed to have at least 3 collectors rares. Lets say you buy 12 booster boxes and dont pull not even 1 collectors rare means the store is weighing them or doing something shady to farm all the collector rares for themselves for reselling.
If the patron bought a case then it should come in the box 📦 it was in when it was fresh off the truck only way to guarantee no tampering or switch a roos. Buying cards is a gamble unless you get a sealed case of them pretty much.

Check the left sides of the cards. About 1/3 of my booster box had damage on the left side from where the machines in the factory grab the cards…quality had definitely dipped the last couple sets. Probably trying to keep up printing lol..

I work at a LGS. The first print run of chilling reign had terrible quality control. Had a customer buy 3 boxes, then try to say we repacked the boxes and packs. He then went to a rival store and they “confirmed” we did (even though every pack and box I had from fresh cases looked the exact same). People are stupid.
Don’t give em back!!! Give them to someone who would actually want them I need that snorlax 🤣
Friend owns a LGS. Someone returned a box claiming the box was a reseal. The packs looked a little sketch but mostly just a quality error. I opened the rest of the packs and the person had just got unlucky and opened all the bad packs first. there were 8 white codes and in the last pack the most expensive card from the set (the only one that would make your money back).
