    I've had mine for 5 months, it blows me away every time I drive it. Honestly, it's a lot better than you could ever imagine, surprises everyone in terms of quality, performance, design and economy. A good all rounder like a hot hatch should be!

    That glass roof has to weigh a ton. But it looks cool. I like the interior a lot on this car!

      Amr Atef I think these would do well in the USA.

      +Blake's Garage It does let in a lot of natural light. The roof is an option so it is totally up to you if you want it.

      +Blake's Garage Someone else in the main review we have done said that too. Would be interesting to see it in the USA.

    I’m im the market for a hot hatch, cupra Leon, focus st, and a golf gti are to my liking, but the more I see of this 308, the more I’m leaning towards one.

      I am exactly thinking about getting one of those exact cars. I am leaning towards the Focus St, but haven't made a decision yet. Have you?

    5 things I don't love about this car would be: 1-5. Its not sold in the US. I actually prefer a sporty hatchback to a pickup truck or minivan, so I guess I'm in the minority here. The other options in this class are the VW/GTI and the ford focus st. The long term prospects of VW here in North America actually seem very shaky now, as the total and complete overreaction to their diesel situation has really put the future of US VW dealers (and the brand in general) in doubt. Honestly, I already didn't trust VW that much based on their poor reliability reputation here. Go to a Ford dealership and try and get a focus, and they will not have any available, and if they do they will not be configured anywhere close to what you want. Then they will proceed to try and sell you a regular economy car focus. Then they will try to sell you a pickup truck or minivan. All of which they have hundreds in each color just taking up space on the lot. Honestly, I don't even trust Ford's reliability reputation even as much as VW. This post is obviously tongue in cheek, as I am kidding around a bit here. But not really. More to the point, this car looks good, and it would be nice if it was an option here in the US.

    Max speed is not electronically limited. The gear box ends up at 254kmh and engine hits the rev limiter :)

    love this car as bring sporty to a good family car. I keep looking at the St,golf gti & the 308 gti. with having 2 young (3 & 5age) children. which do think would be better for me?? thx

    • @insidelane
      @insidelane  8 років тому

      Golf is a safe bet, but the 308 GTI offers a bit more fun in my eyes. ST is very good to drive but I's rather the 308 GTI to live with.

    what it like day to day MPG wise , if driven normal should i expect MPG of a normal 1.6 turbo like the 205bhp version

    • @insidelane
      @insidelane  8 років тому

      It is always difficult to give "normal" figures because driving conditions change all of the time. The same test would give different results each time. In answer to your question, no it wouldn't do what the regular 1.6 does due to different parts. If you look at the official combined figure and take off 10/20mpg you might be close. I'd check some forums for what other people think they get.

      Tom Lea I have a 12 mile commute to work which is mainly round town and on an A road and average around 29-31 mpg every day by driving pretty sensibly. On the motorway doing 70mph I average around 37mpg definitely not Peugeots claimed 47 but pretty good for something so fun and quick.

    • @PaulHawkins87
      @PaulHawkins87 7 років тому +1

      My average is 35 MPG, but on gentle drives I see 48-52 MPG, and it's really not that hard to achieve due to the small engine and light weight!

    • @buertski7236
      @buertski7236 6 років тому

      My average is 27mpg. (computer says 30mpg, calculated at the pump is 27mpg)
      That is when u use the car for what it's made, restricted by traffic.

    do you think this car is worth the excess over the 208 PS model?

    • @insidelane
      @insidelane  8 років тому

      +taffyboy_G1 All depends what size car you are looking for. 308 is obviously bigger, but personaly the 208 GTI by Peugeot sport is favourite to drive.

      I road tested this car when it was brand-new, so didn’t come across any problems. There are quite a few Peugeot forums out there that might be able to help :)
