Mr. Clanton, my husband and I are buying a home with an old aluminum window smack dab in the middle of the wall separating the front "florida room" (old porch rehabbed into a portion of the house) and I have been scouring look for ways we can safely remove this useless window all day. I am so thankful for this tutorial you posted! We are excited to get it done and patch it up. Thank you so much.
Thanks for your video about the removing the old brick window. Would you please tell me whether you have another video on how to install a new window following this removal? Thanks!
fantastic video. the best part is that you leave your camera stationary instead of bouncing it all over. most instructional videos make be sea sick watching them.
Plus I hang up a blanket to keep a lot of dirt out the only time I go in to the house is to clean and to cut the caulking off the windows. The way you bang the window seal that’s what keeps the customer mad when they see unnecessary scratches and hammer marks.
😳 oh my goodness. Well - - this video was incredibly helpful bc it's the only one I could find showin' how to remove that exact type window out of a brick house .....
I feel like I'm going to go through the same thing. I plan on removing one of my 1950's window also. This will be my first time to ever do this. In my 60s And I'm going to give it a hell of a try. I've been watching alot of UTUBE Videos. My replacement window is just like your but it's a single hung 35 x 46or so white Aluminum, but not a storm window. Wish me luck. Lols.
I learned a lot by watchin' this - thank you! I can see it's gonna take some time to remove these type windows. Just curious - could I use a metabo to cut the frames after they're partially bent & pryed out??? Also - I'm very curious as to how these windows were installed? It would be great if the whole window frame & all could be taken out .... I'd like to use them to build a greenhouse rather than create scrap metal .... The windows I'm dealing with look basically like storm windows - but were installed as the only windows (no wood around them) Also, I'd like to see the video of the vinyl window install . . .
Had this done in a small apartment and the burning rubber made me so sick I ended up in Urgent Care! Please! Warn anyone inside to leave to avoid chemical inhalation! And please sir, protect yourself. 😢 I hear you coughing after you heated the rubber..
I know every window is different. But the way you took that window out bug me. I’m 24 and I have been installing windows since I was 15 with my dad. I use a saw to cut the window slider out then I pry up the bottom cut it in half it’s way easier to work with.
What I do is unhook balance rods then beat the check rail down on one side and it will break away from the screws. Then pull sash up and push one corner of the sash down and it'll allow you to free one side and take it right out. Then I take a big flat head screw driver and hammer and bust the screws in the bottom joints of the seal and jam. Then you can easily take a prybar against the brick and pry the hams then the header usually will come with one of the jams if they don't have screws. Then just pry the seal up and clean up.
Hey dummy you can use a torch on the plastic glazing. And a pair of needle nose and pull em off in one piece. And use the torch out side and work the glass out in one piece

So where is the video on installing the new windows
Thanks for your video about the removing the old brick window. Would you please tell me whether you have another video on how to install a new window following this removal? Thanks!
Use a saw to cut the aluminum and it will be much easier to remove. I would have cut it at the bottom as soon as you pried it up.
Oscillating tool with a metal bit will go through that like butter.
I just had 10 of these replaced with vinyl double pane. It was brutal for the installers but came out awesome.
This was great! Do you have a link for the vinyl replacement you installed? I didn't see it in your UA-cam video list.

Do all windows need to have the glass removed before taking out the frame?
No
yes
Good video. Thanks for the help.
I can’t find the video where you installed that window.

Finished pulling an old window like this earlier today
Can you provide a link in the description for pt2 of installing the new window?
He does not have one because he doesn't know what he is doing.
@@robertoallan602 he gave up😂
The county shut him down due to no permit. Currently facing 5 years in a federal prison.

Couldn’t you tape off the inside and cut around the outside edge if the window with a grinder/cutoff blade?
I suspect you could. It might save some effort.

You’ve got this. Age is no excuse. I’m pushing on that 60 mark myself!
You got it. Take your time upload pics. I’m watching several you tube videos as well

There’s many ways to skin a cat. It sounds like your way is probably better than mine.
@@TreyClanton again no hate just saying the way I do it

What kind of saw did you use?
Got around 200 of these to replace, government housing. Going to be a pain in the a%%
Why not tape the glass panes and just break them out this is to time consuming.
Stick with office work
Now I know how to remove this type of window. Force, lots of force.
not safety glasses ?? people you suppose to use safety on every contruction work ok good video but safety first
Stop !! WRONG Window. Take it back and get the correct one. Laziness is obviously present.
This man did a good job but the design of these windows are idiotic!
Should have been wearing safety glasses!
Try wearing your safety glasses when its 105 degrees and sweat dripping down. Just squint you will be alright. Not all snowflakes melt

Be nice he already said he was going to give it a try
Aw that is mean
