I love that Jas the breeder, does not use bits but just a halter to ride hers. It seems that they respond really well to being ridden with no bit. I would like to see everyone riding these horses in this way.
Bred to be like that treated like people in the tent not outdoors seen to first because in the steppes this horse was your life. I think like the Rottweiler and other dogs that NEED their people loyal to a fault. Gentle loving big hearted
I recently rescued another horse from slaughter. I used to work with TB Racehorses and thought she may have been one. But.... no lip tattoo and a smokey buckskin. So not a TB RH. 17 hands high, nearly starved, heavy coat in TX in May, no forlock, long thick tail, TB type conformation, super sweet, has had foals... can ride bareback with halter. She is 20 + yrs old and getting healthy and bossing my mustang gelding around. Good large round barefoot hooves. I'm thinking Ake teke?? Must wait till old dull coat sheds before I know for sure if it shines...... ❤
Was Shadofax an Akhe? Just sayin.. always remind me of Elfin horses.. if such existed... that is what the Elves would ride beautiful, etheral but so so strong in the running...
Lol... so ignorant. They are from the Central Asian Steppes where it is very hot and they were allowed in their owners tents being treated like family members. They were probably fed in handfuls of grain. The coat repels the strong sunlight as well as looks beautiful. They have a little different metabolism than more modern breeds as well. The closest is Arabians.
Liar. There is no need to save this breed because Akhal-Teke horses are widely spread in Russia, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan. As already mentioned here, American Akhal-Teke horses look loose and do not reach up to the highest standards of this breed.
thank for keeping my people horse alive thank you so much
Genuine passion from the people involved ! Thanks!
Just became one of my favourite horse breeds
They're my favorite breeds. I want to own one someday. I'd like either a brown horse or a buckskin.

I remember Shadow Fax !!! But thought he was a warm blood
Miserable places they're living in. Hardly saw any grass - just fencing and crappy sheds.
There's not a lot of grass in the desert which is the environment that these horses are bred from.

Why are your Akhal Tekes fat? They are not pure bread? Do you keep their lineage?
This is what Akhal-Tekes look like when they aren't racing fit.
All the “best” looking ones r slim, and is what you’ll see most on google, not all of them r that way.
@@esaflaka9155 fair enough. I wouldn't know, I don't work with horses.
@@ahal_gokdepethere are twenty bloodline. Each look different. I got an golden palomino and it’s tall and slim
