I agree. I don't blame anyone who doesn't like the collector role but it's honestly very peaceful and relaxing. Plus the money adds up pretty quickly if you do it over time
Best way to do it, start your moonshine mash, supply your trades business, do bounty missions and collect goods along the way. That’s how I do it and I make thousands every time I play.
One of the tips I don't generally see anyone talk about is this - for the beginner the collector role is a must for xp and cash, although using the map and collecting gets a bit boring. So one pro tip I wanna give is this and this is my subjective opinion - I collect only the static ones, so first I filter them in the map, then I cross out the collectibles I already have in a particular collection, then I choose one area like new austin or lemoyne at the end of the map and put markers start clearing one area at a time. While also doing bounty and sell missions and if I see a collectible along the way I pick it up. In that way it's less boring.
Also if you’re collecting losing hand cards using the map make sure you don’t accidentally turn those in as a set, I went through the entire map got every card including the ones on random rotation then I fat fingered while selling at the post office now I’ve got two sets at 13/14 and I have to wait an entire day now 😂
@@guyfieriismyhero2445 You could do a legend bounty mission and then while that's a cooldown, maybe find all collectibles of one category, like all bottles, or tarot cards.
One thing none of these collector role guides explain is that if you can allocate 2-3 hours per session of gameplay, and you focus on just Cards, Eggs, Bottles, you will almost rank from 1 - 20 in 2 days. You will make about $4000. If you have the trader roll, combine it with that for 2 extra large wagon runs. that's £1300 in trader. You will also rank your character about 10-15 levels by doing this. So to any beginer who is sitting around rank 20-30 and waiting to start these roles. Don't worry, money and levels will come rolling in soon. It isn't the most fun gameplay, no real PVP or anything. But one you level up, get those guns, special ammo, ability cards. Then you can go PVP and actually be good.
One what is (pvp)and is this still like gta so I don't go and wast money on it and no one is not playing it any more ? And the people that keep messing g with people's game play needs to go to a long time out like in gta if they are doing it over and over and over and over again but if it is to where they are just game playing then that is fine.
@@johnhorchler667 PvP is player versus player combat. In these roles you either do not fight or you are likely to fight non player characters (NPC) . Sometimes you meet other collector's at locations and you make friends. once you get good, if other players cause trouble, hit back harder. They soon learn their lessons and parlay with you.
Your overlooking a major part of how general gameplay is set up in the game. A lot of action is happening at or near places where item spawns are. You can simply get or aquire collectables simply by doing other activities and looking around and looting the locations you are sent to
Tarot cards - best way to get money fast, focus on them if you want to keep sanity. Flowers - low pay, agarita pain in the ass to collect, best way moneywise is just to collect creek plum for moonshine recipe. If you really want to collect these, do at least 3 full sets at once for higher pay, and use the night time efficiently for the bullshit flowers. EDIT: as of July 6 2023 some nights in game the blood flower is bugged, it's simply not spawning, making this set less and less reliable. Fossils - ok pay but low chance of getting full sets in one day, also pain in the ass to trek in snow and on cliffs. Just pick the ones on the south rivers and swamp, or if close to Colter fast travel point Jewellery - bracelets and neclaces worth collecting, smaller sets and good pay. Rings, earrings, don't bother unless there are guaranteed spots for the day. Edit: can be looted from various free roam npc's, I've found many from regular gang members, bounty targets and hostage takers. (Can sometimes be found when looting horses saddlebags, so when visiting towns it's a good idea to do some pickpocketing, just make sure the horse is calm otherwise he'll turn your lights off.) Alcohol - low pay, but easy to complete especially in solo sessions, when you have a bumch of moonshiner and revenue agent roadblocks, just loot some bodies, london dry gin being the most common find (no need to go get it in the wild if it's in a remote place). I usually set up camp in Captooth Ridge so in some cycles cognac is right there next to me at the mine. If theyre too hard to get like northern ambarino, don't bother. Get a stock of caribbean rum and absinthe, they help you again with higher priced moonshine. Edit: I've managed to loot all bottles from agents and gang members. Bird eggs - sometimes glitched, low pay, don't bother. Can be used in daily challenges (eg. i always keep 10 duck eggs to sell 3 at a time to Lazar to get easy and fast gold). These can be also looted, mostly from poachers, but I guess those weird Skinner brothers also carry these for some reason. Heirlooms - good pay but mostly waste of time if one of them is in deadboot creek or some other retarded location. Random dig spots give these too, and I wouldn't chase for them unless i come across them randomly in small towns and St. Denis. Arrowheads - generally worth it, though theyre also randomized so can't get a set in a day. Random dig spots gives these a lot, also make sure you have learned Mercy Kill, theres always one injured deer north from Emerald Station that gives you many times a rare arrowhead. Another spot I can think of is en route from Mercer Station to the Fort. Arrowheads are also a good excuse to visit Wapiti and Cotorra and enjoy the scenery whenever there is a spawn point. It's not the easiest set to complete but I've noticed it's slightly easier to complete than coin set. Only sometimes you end up having 10 of each and still missing the Quartz one for days. Coins - very good pay, but I've managed to only get a complete set twice after started playing 6 months ago. Good luck finding that gold quarter and new yorke token. I've actually given up with this set, I usually just sell 9-10 coins of each kind depending on the rarity, and still get 300-400 bucks from them. It's actually better to have one or two of each so that you don't risk hauling your ass to a dig spot only to get an empty reward and little xp (e.g. if you have 10 nickels in your satchel, a spot that would've given you a nickel, gives you jack s*it, same applies with some of the arrowheads)
I gave up on the collector role. I don’t like using the interactive map (feels like cheating) and I got tired of constantly buying maps from Madame Lazar only to find the same items I already had sixteen of. It’s far more lucrative to just hunt animals and drive a wagon load of supplies to a sale point.
Maybe its because i only have 100 hours in Online and i havent got burnt out yet but i enjoy the collector not beacuse of the boring point to point but surprisingly i enjoy the scenery and the constant collecting really helps me have a good memory of the maps and landmarks so i slowly don't need to even put way points anymore since i am well versed with the map.
