- Today we will be getting to the bottom of a rumor spreading around that Jean Pierre Fux had a better back than Dorian Yates himself. I would like to get to the truth so lets look at this at all angles and either agree with the Fux fans or DEBUNK this myth of Jean Pierre Fux having a better back than The Shadow.

Dorian’s Back was definitely quite a bit better and fuller then mine especially in the lower insertion with better hardness . Would classify his as one of the top 3 backs of all time with Heath and Ronnie and Stubs being a close fourth possibly Johnny Jackson fifth . My back was very aesthetic in the rear double biceps pose and somewhere between 8-15 of all time backs . This is not an attempt of being humble it’s what I seen close up , what I can say to make my case is that in a time where Dorian was dominating everybody with his back I came a bit closer then the rest of the pack (maybe with the exception of Ronnie)

@@superluminatmos Jean pierre has always been like this towards dorian. He always gives him respect on Instagram! The same with Mike Francois praising how good dorian was too. Fantastic camaraderie between these guys back then!

Absolutely Dorians back was super shredded to the point he won in 97 despite a distended belly because he was just ripped to shreds everywhere else, his workouts were scary.
as a Dorianite I have to say you did a pretty good job on this video, At first i was like oh heck no is he dissing Dorian but after watching the video Those back shots are crazy from Jean, Over the last 3 years Ive gone from pretty much only watching Nick strength and power to only watching Marx max muscle. I love these comparison.

It's about time Fux got credit for something. Throughout his career he never got credit for his greatness. His size in general is phenomenal. He's not in the same category as Dorian but let's start giving him his due! 💪mrwtby

The crazy thing about Dorian, is the year he was in arguably his worst condition, his back was probably at it's best which was 97. I remember seeing that video of him entering the stage from the backstage area. And you saw him walking in from the back, his width and sheer mass was just ungodly.

Why is it a joke? If Nick Walker supposedly have better arms than Ronnie Coleman then Pierre can have a better back than Dorian. I always felt that Dorian's lats overshadowed his shoulder width.
I would say it was comparable at their relative bests. Like, you could almost switch out pictures of their standing relaxed backs from the 97 Olympia without being able to tell the difference because of the amount of sheer Mass. Dorian didn't just have the meat though. He knew how to use it.

he had something Jean never did. Deep, deep conditioning. Hardness never seen before. Dryness and graininess. His back was absolutely SHREDDED in every sense of that word which cannot be said about Fux's back. Size for size? width for width? sure. But he doesn't even come close in the aspects I just mentioned

Same goes with Savolainen as far as the back double biceps. His back double b from 97 rivals Dorian however Marko couldn’t maintain or recreate the mass and condition he had that year. Ultimately Dorian is better considering his back was peerless practically every year since his first Mr O win. Yates beats everyone regarding the back itself on longevity and consistency.

JPF had clearly more mass and was more 3d. Yates had a thinner skin that's it.
They where close from the back, they do both look amazing. But the lats from the front, front lat spread, dorian is a clear winner

If you look at the background set you can see the ones with Jean Pierre are bigger ie the photo size is slightly bigger, get them exactly the same as they are both standing on the same line and then check.

At the end of the day, Bodybuilding is a for profit business.
There is plenty of examples of favoritism edging out the competition.
But this is not the case with Fux and Dori.

What do you say about Ronnys back? A lot of people say it's one of the best, but i hardly disagree. His back double is so unsympathetical it almost hurts.
It's gotta be one of the best. It was asymmetrical and quite watery from 2003+ but in his earlier years it was nuts, his 1998 back double biceps would probably beat both Dorians and Phils back double. His back lat was not as strong as his bdb.
Ronnie had a big back.....every muscle he had was big....and his back was bigger than Dorian's.....but.....Dorian's back was symmetrical like nobody else's.....each muscle almost exactly in its place and totally shredded......
@@panchopuskas1 at no point was Ronnie's back the size of Yates' while as conditioned. He came pretty close to Yates level of conditioning at 2001 A.C but he was TINY.
As Marx said in this very video, nobody was really as conditioned as Yates at the same size.
In the 260+ category Yates remain the standard when it comes to conditioning no question.

I dont know, my opinion is that dorian conditioning is overrated.
Ok in 93 96 and 95 maybe, he was very striated and with thin skin.
But in 94 and 97 he wasnt so shredded, in the glutes he often lacks striations, also is lateral side of the quad is not that much separated.
Jean pierre is less conditioned than dorian but non that much to justifly a similar difference of size.

Biceps, although important, PALE in comparison to the back and legs in the BDB. Saying that Fux wins the back double because of better biceps is downright foolish when you take into account everything else

J P Fux was real monster, but with more size he lost nice shape he presented before he grow so much. Another guy with amazing back development was Roland Cziurlok, very underrated bodybuilder from that time.

It’s sad seeing him back in 2017 at world gym in Palm Springs. I had to explain to my wife who he was and how phenomenal he used to be. I showed her the leg pictures. Now his knees are shot and he’s bent over when he walks. It was sad. Haven’t been back. Hope he got his knees replaced.
That guy did well. Dorian beat him period. I doubt anyone will have a better back throughout history. And yes I stand by that.

I’ve never been a fan of Yates’ rear double bicep. Shoulders and arms were weak. Upper traps weren’t impressive either
Juiced muscles do nothing for me.
In a rear lat spread it’s comparable width wise and development in the lower traps and rhomboids . But not even close in hardness . And to the front it’s a massacre . No IFBB pro in history had lats like Dorian to the front (not even Ronnie ).
I never liked Dorians body. Overrated, Very small arms, flat chest. Jean pier fux had a better overall body..
