    I loved the music in the movie.
    When I watched the movie in in cinema I was sure that Desplat wrote the music.
    And it turned out to be right.

    Just thought I'd say this for the rest of us who are thinking it. Great!! Arturia have answered the monophonic, modular synth communities cries for patch memory modular. Now please Arturia answer everyone else's cry for the POLYBRUTE!! 8-voice, 12?

      Polybrute will be amazing. Hope they can make that happen!

    I ordered one but it took so long I canceled the order for the matrix-brute . And got the deep mind 12....Great score though! It's the music at the end of the day and this man is a proper composer with an extensive musical background. So I think it's nice that he uses a synth at all when he has a huge orchestra to work with. Look at all the tracks he is using! Amazing movie too! Peace Christo

      Got them both -- it is like comparing apples to pears. DM12 is probably the best sounding, most versatile poly synth if you do not have infinite money to own some DSI-s (which can only do a fraction of what is possible with the DM12, but have 1-2 patches not reproducible with the DM12 with the same quality). The Matrixbrute on the other hand is a MONO (well paraphonic) synth with a massive modular patch matrix AND preset capability, unlike any synths out there. Practically no other MONO synth measures up to the Matrixbrute in sound and versatility -- it is a Moog killer.

    So awesome! Anyone know if he is still using VSL as his sample libraries?

      no idea, but it's funny how crappy his mockups sound - which shows he's really about writing for live players, and not for the samples to sound good

    • @SamDiazProducer

      Totally agree! It's funny for younger composers now a days , and I bet you'll agree with me, we are so use to trying to make our mock-ups sound as realistic as possible that I personally don't think I could ever play a mock up sounding this bad to a director, even if eventually it's going to be replaced by real players lol! but I haven't been in that situation yet so idk

    • @gijsvanamelsvoort3689
      @gijsvanamelsvoort3689 6 років тому +4

      That's exactly it, isn't it? My guess is that good directors just pay way more attention to the general emotional impact or the role of the music (just to what the music does in relation to picture) when the composer shows his/hers work in progress, rather than realistic sounds.. Also, they know what they get when they're hiring Alexandre Desplat, so I'm sure it's a level of trust as well. Young composers have to prove themselves more.

      @@gijsvanamelsvoort3689@Sam Diaz great points, guys! i agree with you both. Its expected of young composers to deliver amazing sound mock-ups now a days. But once you're established you probably have a little more latitude and less pressure when delivering mock-ups, especially if you have a relationship with the director.

    • @MrSkyzof
      @MrSkyzof 6 років тому

      Oui.
      Il est né en 61 , mais à 4:12 il dit " il nous ramène justement à la fin des années 70 , je n'étais pas né mais c'est pas grave ... ".
      Et c'est traduit comme tel.
      Par contre il ne dit pas pourquoi , on ne peut donc pas savoir s'il voulait parler des années 50 , même si c'est plus probable que d'oublier sa date de naissance.

    Pourquoi dire qu'on n'était pas né à la fin des années 70 quand on est né en 1961 ? Si c'est une forme d'humour pince sans rire, ça passe pas, c'est juste bizarre.
