    I always hold mine up to the window, trace around, and then use the ruler and craft knife to cut the straight lines and then finish the corners with my small scissors. Fast and easy. I have a light box, but too lazy to get it out and then put it back. Envelope, paper, pencil, window, trace, cut out. I will also lightly tape a bunch to the window and go for it. I have a sliding glass door in my craft room so it just made sense to me. Like we all say, use what you have. Barb Pacific NW.

    Ingenious solution! You could also use artist’s graphite (transfer paper) for tracing the image onto the paper. Using a stylus to trace works great.

    Thank you I didn’t have tracing paper for sewing or carbon paper. Your video sparked a memory of tracing script using pastels crayons. I just scribbled pastel and placed it facing down on back of the paper I wanted to cover the envelope. Then traced as you said with the bone tool. And voila I have a perfect mark to cut. Just have to be sure to use contrasting colors to see😊. Bonus is I don’t have to look for or purchase tracing paper of any sort because I have acquired plenty of pastel crayons. For now anyway. Thanks for the video

    I was thinking when you had the page behind the window, wouldn’t it have been easier and given you more length if you had opened the envelope flat. The image kept hitting the fold of the envelope and stopped you for using more of your page. Hope that makes sense.

    If you have a few envelopes with the same size window, couldn't you just make a window pattern?

    • @AtticTreasuresEtc
      @AtticTreasuresEtc  5 місяців тому +1

      That’s a great idea! Most of my envelopes have all different size windows, but I do regularly receive mail from one place that always uses the same size, so for that one I could definitely make a template. Thanks for the great suggestion! I love this community of creatives. ❤️ Thanks so much for watching! ~Kathy xo
