Jordan!!!! I watched your series with Alyssa and also have been a fan for quite some time…..I am almost 65 years old, just starting to include a 30 minute walk/run exercise regimen with a bit of weight lifting. I have listened to you hammer home the importance of calories in calories out and the importance of protein….I am so happy to report that I am down 6.5 pounds in 2 months….increased my protein appropriately and have been consistent in my exercise routine……YAY!! 🎉 I am so very proud of myself but I have to give you mega credit for getting me going…..thank you so much….Congratulations on the new baby coming soon ❤ I have 6 little grandbabies and they are my everything
I just turned 50 and have been struggling with my weight my entire adult life. You are the first person who makes me feel like I can actually lose weight in a sustainable way. I’m scared to fail again, but I really want to be healthy for the remainder of my life. Thanks Jordan 😊.
Recently discovered your channel and am surprised you don't have millions of subscribers. You make so much sense (perhaps that's why?). All my adult life, my most consistent, frequent prayer has been "God, please don't let me die fat", even before I was fat. Now, at 66 years old, it's now or never. 75 lbs down, 50 more to go.
It’s true… I was able to lose 16 lbs in 3 months eating what I like… I just went through a slightly calorie deficit so I was able to sustain it and haven’t recovered the weight back… the key is “keep on going”
I absolutely love the stop sign/red light analogy. I get so discouraged when the scale won't move (or moves the wrong direction), but it's a great reminder on those tough days that it's ALL part of the journey. Thank you so much for your no-nonsense weight loss advice, you're the best!
For me game changer was weighted vest. I'm wearing it when I'm running and during my walks. It helps me stay in only slice calorie deficit and still loosing weight.
I've been struggling with the variety of eating disorders my whole life, but your videos over the years helped me to improve my relationship with food and with myself. Next week, I will continue once again my fat loss journey, but this time I will try to start with the calorie deficit which is not big at all and this scares the hell out of me. I never had the patience and I can usually lose 20-30 kg over the three months period and then gain it back because of my binge eating disorder. I live in this loop for very long, always trying to figure out different ways to get out of it. Now I decided to try my best to follow your advice, wish me luck, I am really scared and anxious! Anyway, I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart, because, you are the only one that I follow (and I follow a lot of fitness content) that really gives me the sense of peace and hope that one day I will work this out and everything will be okay eventually. Say hello to the Old Abe, she is the best! ❤
I can’t possible love this video more than I do. Thank you for acknowledging how sucky it is for a small person to try and reduce calories to further weight loss. It’s like I’m already not having fun and then I’ll REALLY not have fun. I really liked the tips about adding a little extra movement to push through. Thank you thank you for making these tips specific for different size people. ❤❤❤
i was shocked when i emailed you and asked "how to adjust calories down after 2 weeks of no movement" and you told me two weeks is way too short. now that i have been more patient with myself, it totally makes sense. 12x goal weight works for me and it will for awhile!
Hi Jordan I have lost 8 kg so fair and this is exactly where I am at. Same weight for over a week now. I track and weigh everything I eat. I hit at least 10 thousand steps a day. And I lift at least 3 days a week. But I have kidney issues, so I have to take a beta blocker. So it is really hard to get my heart rate up. I have 8 more kgs to go. I am not giving up but I am feeling really flat. Only a shorty 5’2 and atm I am at 70kg so still way to fat. In saying that I do have a lot of muscle mass I use to be a power lifter when I was younger. I just want to feel like all My work is actually paying off. Thanks for all the best info I have ever found on the tube.
Loved the driving analogy! Also thanks for drawing attention to the fact that how you approach things is different for a bigger person and a smaller person. It’s so frustrating when my husband can loose weight faster than me by simply cutting a few calories. PS- Pick me for the Inner Circle, it sounds amazing😊
Thanks Jordan, you have no idea how much I needed to see this today! I’m struggling with losing, without even having had the satisfaction of losing a good chunk at the start 😂. My weight has bounced almost back to where I started 6 weeks ago, despite doing the right things food and movement wise (although a holiday in the middle did have an impact!). I’m going to recalculate what I should be doing, be consistent and track everything for a full month, and see what I can do in that time, then reassess again as needed, following the approach you explain so well in this video. Thank you again for all your efforts and videos. I can’t quite stretch to joining the inner circle at the moment but hope to do so one day, as I know it will be superb.
You’re a total motivation! This video came at a great time!! Im 43 and 5ft and plateauing for 5 weeks … it’s motivating me to keep going what I’m doing ( although I’m fucking scared I’m not doing it right! ) but I’ll keep watching and I keep trying for a few more weeks Jordan!!
Holy shit, it’s like you’ve read my mind! I‘ve been standing at the red light for a while now. Thank you for all of your videos, you‘ve been keeping me in the right headspace since I found you a few weeks ago ☺️ Also congratulations on the big news from Alyssa’s last video!!
Love this channel! I got my calendar and have been tracking my consistency and also started tracking my calories Honestly and thoroughly again for the first time in years and WOW!! I have been eating about double my daily calorie intake needs for fat loss daily! Yikes! Very eye opening! I started walking daily, and have been getting in 7.500-10,000 steps a day and this week started adding in lifting weights again. I can’t wait to see where I end up in 6 months if I can stay consistent!
Hey Jordan! Great video! I am a new subscriber to your channel. I have been stalled in my weight loss journey for for over 3 months. I was working with a dietitian/trainer and lost 45 pounds very quickly over the summer, but my then my weight loss stalled out. It was just as you have described in another video. I was eating a very low calorie diet and I was exhausted, my hair was falling out, and I was terribly flabby. My dietitian/trainer suggested that I not work out during this time because my calories were so low. I parted ways with her in October because it was very expensive, and also I felt like it was not sustainable for me to continue another 6 months or more to lose the rest of the weight. I have another 60+ pounds to lose. I have slowly increased my calories to a more normal weight loss number using your formula, and I have slowly incorporated working out 3 times per week. The scale is not budging. I have one of those fancy scales that tell me my fat and muscle levels. I have gained three pounds of fat and muscles have stayed the same. am I missing something or do I just need to stick with it longer to see results? Help! Susan
I just bought your book a couple of months ago, and i implemented a caloric deficit. I've lost 17 lbs since the first of the year and made it sustainable. This is amazing because typically, i would yoyo and binge but haven't🎉 thank you for the simple instructions in your book.
I have been in a non losing life style for a while. I need to follow your advice. Consistency and movement are my weaknesses. Can't wait for calorie tracker with the IC
Thank you again! I was daunted by my new 1800 calorie deficit and I upped my calories to 2000 (that's still a calorie deficit for me) and making some sort of movement daily. I feel better even though I don't see the scale moving yet but I keep hearing you in my ear - just keep fucking going. I always learn something new from you even if I think I won't! Love you and congrats on the new baby :)
Such great advice! As someone on the lower end of the calories, dropping calories has not been sustainable but getting more steps definitely is. I’ve always been told not to count exercise calories burned but this makes so much sense.
This was really informative - being a small person on lowish calories but also quite sedentary outside of workouts, its great to think about the 4 week marker and understand any changes won't be immediate! Love all your content!
Always so much realistic and good wisdom. The red light is such a great analogy and man do I hate red lights on the scale! No finish line, and don't quit!!!
Funny I was just talking-to myself about how to drop a few pounds. Looks like I've found my maintenance calories, feel stronger but still want to lose a few pounds. Perfect timing for this video! I am a small person as well so don't want to go too low in calories as you said. I did increase my steps but going to kick it up another notch and see if anything happens. Then may drop calories 10%. Thanks as always for the great content!
Thank you for this! I’ve been questioning the amount of cals I got using the calculator because I can’t seem to drop a pound for the life of me. I have a lot of health issues and questioning if it’s something to do with that because I gained a bunch of weight so drastically when I wasn’t eating worse/more. Appreciate you giving tips to try adjusting to see if that works!
Well, Well, I needed this today! Patience is truly a virtue. Consistency is key, but we all know that life can sometimes get in the way in a good way. Living a healthy lifestyle is more beneficial than having to get healthy because you have to due to a medical issue or other reasons. There is nothing worse than feeling like you have to do something. It's always better to approach it willingly and with excitement., than to HAVE TOO..due to a medical issue, etc. Nothing worse is a HAVE TO!
This dropped into my inbox at EXACTLY the right time, I’ve been seeing same weight for last 4 weeks and even though know I need to just trust process it’s been hard being consistent but not seeing the result. Explained perfectly with action steps to take, thanks Jordan
I'm a smaller person and it suckssssssssssssss WAHHHHHHH. Lol thank you for always being so real! I never thought about the movement AND calorie cut. Rut roh. Good info to have!
Ok, heard you loud and clear. And clearly, my issue is consistency and not sticking to it. Heading over to your calorie calculator to give it another try. Here’s we go!
This was super helpful (no surprise there), thank you Jordan! I really appreciated the reminder at the end that there's no timeline/to have grace and go along our fitness journey.
So loving your content on UA-cam of late (it's where I first found you, but now I follow you on Insta and listen to all of your mini podcasts on my walks 😊) I'm glad you never gave up on us over here even if people aren't the best at watching longer form content these days (it's still my fave format!) I think what you're doing is incredible in terms of providing so many resources to support people in their learning about health and fitness, and making it so accessible to the general public (science-based, but real world practical!)
I've been following you on Instagram for months. Started watching your UA-cam videos recently. Using your calorie calculator, since every other one gives me 1200 calories or less. And I'm on a mission to get 10,000 steps everyday, with intentional walking not just random steps.
Thanks for this! I love your approach and it's the first time I don't feel pressure to go overboard when starting something new. I'm definitely working on learning patience over fast results!
I spent the last 3 years going through cancer treatments and I am finally ready to get my health back. Starting with activity and cleaning up my diet. Weight is good but might try to lose 5-10 pounds after I get the first 2 in check.
Thanks for another super informative and helpful video! I’m on the edge of turning 40 and with your help I am (for the first time in my life) learning to give myself some grace!
I've just found your videos on you tube and wow, so much sense. Ive been on low calorie diets so many times and always just put it all back on. This has given me the push to actually keep going and do it sensibly this time. No rush! Off to watch more of your videos!
As someone who is hesitant to try another workout program, your explanations have given me a different view of the big picture that is weight loss. Thank you 😊
Always love your perspective! This is my lifestyle, not a race. Getting healthy is the goal and I need to stay on track. I also need to remember how far I've come and use it to keep going!
Hey Jordan!! Such an encouraging video!! I’ve often felt stuck, and have certainly misused the meaning of a plateau before. I’m small (5’1) and have a smaller deficit (1500). Been continuing my journey, slowly but surely, with your help!! Thank you!!
I needed this. Been eating like a butthead and getting mad that nothing's happening. I don't want to decrease my calories anymore. but I know I need to move more...it's like we just had a mini 1-on-1.
The light analogy is great. Great video. Love the inner circle although I haven’t been as consistent as I need to be, it has helped me shed some of the postpartum weight.
Such a great video! My weight has always yo-yo’d after ending my calorie deficits in the past. This is so great to know how to adjust after a goal has been meant. Thanks Jordan
Thank You, I found your videos and podcast a month ago. I love all the information that you are giving us. I share it with everyone. I love your plateau method. I recently had 5 days where I stayed the same weight being perfect but listening to you and staying on course and not letting it drail me was amazing. I have a lot more weight to lose but I am grateful to know that a 4 week plateau can happen and not to go crazy. You are helping me so much with the mental game. Thank You!
Your videos are so real and helpful. It’s really easy to wanna give up, or do something drastic but slow and sustainable is the way to go. I’m getting back into it after a long break from mono. So thank you for all you share
I've been following you on insta for awhile now, I absolutely love your content. You make things so much easier to understand. Thanks for all the comedy, love the laughs too!! 😊
This video couldn’t have come at a more pivotal time in my weight loss journey! Thank you so much for all the effort you put into creating this incredible content for all of us!!! ❤
I love your guidance so much! A sensible voice amidst the roar of (oftentimes) nonsense. It can be overwhelming, so it’s nice to have someone you can trust to give sounds advice.😊
Perfect message for me at this time. I have completely stalled out - I will increase my activity for 4 weeks and see if I can get the weight loss to happen again.
Love the stop light example. I do get impatient. Bc and menopause haven’t been my friend. I do need to be patient and move more. I love listening to you!
I NEEDED this today. I finally got my health under control enough where I can start going back to the gym again. I was pretty much sedentary for the past year (under 3k steps daily) due to having POTS. I'm 5'4" and 120 lbs. Started back up 10 days ago, everyday light cardio (10-12k steps daily) plus weights, eating 1500 calories a day. I've gained 2 lbs. My brain 1st went to "WTF???". Then I took a breath, watched this video, and said "Girl, it's been 10 days. Chill the fuck out, listen to Jordan, and trust the process" lol
@@ClementineCreative I am uncomfortable at the weight I am and feel much better when I am at a lower body fat percentage. My condition made me lose quite a bit of muscle
Hi Jordan once again you just make things sound so simple not easy but simple and I so appreciate you!!! Thank you for all your content . Love being part of the IC !!! ❤
Your videos are always so helpful! I've been thinking of joining the inner circle for a while... on a suuuuper tight budget at the moment but I know it will save me money in the long run by improving my health. Maybe I can make it work soon.
Hi Jordan I used the Mayo Clinic calorie calculator and it suggested 1750 but yours is 1500, I’m 4’11” and my goal wait is 125 so I’m going with yours and will maybe use theirs once I reach goal weight, great video
You are my FAVORITE health and fitness dude to follow. You are the best! I recommend you to so many people!!! And Nene and Old Abe are fun to watch too! 😊
I’m going to give this a try for a month. I’m considered a “small” person and I hit 10,000+ steps a day plus strength 3 days a week and spin 3-4 times a week. Hit my protein/calorie goals and not losing anything. I’m an easy muscle gainer and put on muscle but not losing the fat. I’d love to know your take on hormones and how that can affect your fat loss.

You are fucking AMAZING!!! Huge huge huge huge congratulations!!!
Aww 🥰 thank you 🙏🏻 I’m very proud of myself and immensely appreciate your guidance
Great advice, looking forward to new app
NOBODY makes weight loss as sustainable and as stress free as you Jordan! You’ve helped my relationship with food recover! HUGE HUUUGE thanks to you!
I just turned 50 and have been struggling with my weight my entire adult life. You are the first person who makes me feel like I can actually lose weight in a sustainable way. I’m scared to fail again, but I really want to be healthy for the remainder of my life. Thanks Jordan 😊.

This legitimately could not have come at a better time. Thank you for all that you do! Your videos are so so helpful
Joined the IC a week or so ago and I just want to say this community is out of this world!!!!
That traffic analogy is so good!
I've been struggling with the variety of eating disorders my whole life, but your videos over the years helped me to improve my relationship with food and with myself. My work is actually paying off. Thanks for all the best info I have ever found on the tube.
Thanks for the "if you're a smaller person" section. That piece is a struggle as I lose more. Cheers!
Omg 😂😂😂😂 that sponsor you have sure is sassy!!! Jordan you’re freaking awesome and I can’t tell you how thankful I am for your videos!!!
I just bought your book a couple of months ago, and i implemented a caloric deficit. I've lost 17 lbs since the first of the year and made it sustainable. This is amazing because typically, i would yoyo and binge but haven't🎉 thank you for the simple instructions in your book.
Love the analogy, I’ve been working towards leaving the “all or nothing” mindset behind!
I have been in a non losing life style for a while. I need to follow your advice. Consistency and movement are my weaknesses. Can't wait for calorie tracker with the IC

I’m in this exact situation. Went from 205 to 180, back around 183 and can’t shake anymore pounds down.
Very helpful video
I don't even know what to do anymore. I'm so sick of myself messing up. Thanks for trying to help us!
Are you in the inner circle?
Such great advice! As someone on the lower end of the calories, dropping calories has not been sustainable but getting more steps definitely is. I’ve always been told not to count exercise calories burned but this makes so much sense.

Thanks for the great reminder to not give up when things slow down!🙂
The scale smash😂😂! Yes!!!!!!! I’ve wanted to do that so many damn times because it’s frustrating
Thank you for this! I’ve been questioning the amount of cals I got using the calculator because I can’t seem to drop a pound for the life of me. The red light analogy is brilliant! Looking forward to improving my health with your guidance. Real and down to earth, so helpful!

Right now I am losing weight using your calculator and walking 5000 steps a day. On days I have good energy I will do yoga or my exercise bands.

This is super helpful, I feel like I'm not making the progress I want after being consistent before my wedding. More walks it is!
I know all of this but it's always good to hear it again! There's no finish line 🙌🏻
I love that you know the difference between less and fewer. Thanks for this great content!
I've been following you on Instagram for months. Started watching your UA-cam videos recently. Using your calorie calculator, since every other one gives me 1200 calories or less. And I'm on a mission to get 10,000 steps everyday, with intentional walking not just random steps.

Great analogy! I need to hear this, thank you!!! The only failure is giving up. I need to continue to be patient and stay the course.
Jordan you are the GOAT. you have no idea how much you have helped me!!!!!! I’m a recovering binge eater. Your guidance is invaluable ❤
I’ve been following you for awhile and am finally losing weight sustainably. Thank you for your knowledge and sharing!
Thanks for bringing new content and always meeting me where I am with what I need. Have you been reading my diary?
Thank You, I found your videos and podcast a month ago. I love all the information that you are giving us. I share it with everyone. I love your plateau method. I recently had 5 days where I stayed the same weight being perfect but listening to you and staying on course and not letting it drail me was amazing. I have a lot more weight to lose but I am grateful to know that a 4 week plateau can happen and not to go crazy. You are helping me so much with the mental game. Thank You!
Thanks for explaining the different approaches for a bigger and smaller person. Very helpful!
Your videos have been a big help in getting started-there’s so much conflicting info out there!
May I ask why you want to lose fat? 120 lbs is a pretty healthy weight for your height!
@@ClementineCreative I am uncomfortable at the weight I am and feel much better when I am at a lower body fat percentage. My condition made me lose quite a bit of muscle
Slowly trying to piece together the habits needed for fat loss. Thanks for the help!
Just watched video and checking out your calorie calculator now.
I needed this today. I have been stuck for so long. Thank you
Hi Jordan once again you just make things sound so simple not easy but simple and I so appreciate you!!! Thank you for all your content . Love being part of the IC !!! ❤
Love how the tips are always simple and straightforward so easy to understand and implement
Love this moderate approach to calorie/movement change. Also, can't wait for the updated app! Thank you!
Simple and to the point! Love it! I’m glad you gave a percentage. I’ve always wondered how you know how many calories to decrease! Thanks!
Jordan pluggin in his calorie calculator 1000x really made me laugh haha. Love that calculator and highly recommend 👌
Just starting out and this is SO helpful. After researching many, many, MANY trainers, decided to go with this one.
Thank you! The light analogy was spot on!
You keep me laughing and motivated!!
Your final words hit home the most :) ❤
I appreciate how you break down and explain things! Such good reminders.
I've watched a lot of your videos and this one has some of the best editing - great job man!
You are my FAVORITE health and fitness dude to follow. You are the best! I recommend you to so many people!!! And Nene and Old Abe are fun to watch too! 😊
Love these videos! You seem to always call out where I’m stuck and motivate me to keep going!
haha, thanks Jordan. I always enjoy your delivery of the information
I’m short and sidelined by sciatica nerve pain. This is very hard. But soon I’ll be moving and weight training again.
That was such great information, was just wondering when you're saying 100% dialed in do you still mean 80/20?
This is what I needed to hear, thank you so much! Now time for me to get more steps it!
