Hell, he even has lantern rings and magical objects in case he needs them, and if he dies, there is a machine that clones him and gives him all the memories and skills of the dead himself to continue fighting no matter what, he has access to element X and can call Bat-Mite? Intelligence is not only about creating nonsensical sci-fi stuff, but also about deducing, outsmarting, improvising, and planning, while Iron Man may be a better engineer, Batman is by far a wider genius. And yes, it has no sense, yes, Batman is just a human, yes, he has plot armor, but so do practically all comic characters, for example, those armors from Iron Man are sheer BS, he is just a human too. Batman defeated Azrael in the main universe’s Knightfall storyline. I don’t think Tony is similar to Azrael either-Azrael is a peak human compared to Tony. Also, literally every character has plot armor because they are comic book characters. And yeah, there are Some moments where Superman comes out on top, but they are just "some moments."

The issue with these fights is that, as a massive Batman fan… a comic book counterpart almost ALWAYS has prep time. Because he’s literally untouchable for the writers the vast majority of the time, more often than not, a few seconds prep time and Iron Man would be toast. You may not like it, but the character is written that way very often. Because he’s Batman.

Batman’s traits are being pretty underestimated here. He is significantly above Tony in every stat fighting prowess, tactics, strength, reflexes, speed, and their intelligence is basically equal. Iron man’s normal suits are not very durable being able to be blown up by rpg level attacks as we’ve seen in the mcu multiple times. Look what cap was able to do and he is way less of a technical martial artist than Batman. Sure iron man has more toys but Batman is more than his toys and has a pretty large arsenal himself. Also his most powerful suit is more powerful than Tony’s. I’m not saying Tony can’t win but Batman has this more often than not especially if he is prepared.

No, the suit with the power cosmic makes everything you just said irrelevant. As well as both version of the armor that fights celestials. Power cosmic is basically a plot device in marvel for them to just make ridiculous things happen. Celestials are higher dimensional beings. Think darkseid true form and that’s technically how they work. The armor that you see is just a shell that holds their energy that exist on a higher plane. Tony’s ability to exist on that level of fighting puts Batman to shame

Most iron man suits are made from none ferrous metals like gold, titanium and other rare metals so no magnets wouldn’t do much. Maybe if its strong enough it would damage the electronics in it tho

Iron man has routinely been close to peak human in the comics too. His first round extremis enhancements allowed him perfect physical conditioning without working out and the ability to interface with digital components notably his suit, to make it react as fast as his normal body. He also cut off his heel to remove a tracking device and the extremis enhancements gave him a. Mild healing factor allowing the heel to completely regrow. Extremis 2.0 was basically his bleeding edge armor as it used the inert extremis remains to fashion a suit that lived inside the hollows in his bones. He was the suit. His body was the suit. Extremis 3.0 happened in the endo sym arc. It gave anyone peak human looks and conditioning. It even healed daredevils vision. And stark was the first test subject. He used it on himself. He also is highly proficient in hand to hand despite it not being Batman’s level. He has had training from captain america, black widow, Shang chi, and other top tier marvel hand to hand fighters. He’s beaten many foes with hand to hand blows when his armor is taken from him or like the time he beat the crap out of Ezekiel stane who’s much closer to his physical prime than Tony who’s a good bit older. But then again hand to hand literally doesn’t matter in this situation like at all lol. In the suits both would be evenly matched Batman is superior but starks tech gives him movement prediction after some analysis allowing him to beat Batman through some technological trickery over actual practice.
I’m a huge IM fan, but I have to admit…Bruce is also “The World’s Greatest Detective.” That essentially means he solves problems better than anyone. And we can assume that means “real time” not “with prep time.” From the moment they face-off, he’s thinking twelve steps ahead, anticipating various outcomes, and adjusting accordingly. Ntm that man has suits that fight literally celestials and multiversal beings. The problem with Batman’s suit is that it feeds on his life force. Which kinda negates any advantage he had over Ironman. Which is nonexistent. Since Ironman’s suits are stronger either way. There’s no winning this for Batman. Sure he can fight Superman, but Superman has a pretty exploitable weakness. Without that Batman aint doing a thing to Superman, ntm that Tony would actually be able to do the same if not worse to Superman than Batman has in the past.

Setting intellect and tech aside, Bruce is a better problem solver (and anticipator)…thus the title “world’s greatest detective.” I also don’t think we can ignore the huge advantage Bruce has as a skilled combatant. The Black Panther is probably the only better fighter (in either universe). If the suits are evenly matched, Bats is a far better fighter…and it’s not even close…but I’d love to see this fight!
There's another major difference and that is Tony Stark makes his armor and Bruce Wayne pays someone to create his armor. This being said gives IRONMAN the edge over BATMAN everytime.
Actually, this might just mean Bruce values time over money…since he has more of it, given that Wayne Enterprises is so much more than a defense contractor.

Batman needs a nano tech suit like Iron Man's by now that builds his cool gadgets but not the blasters and rockets. I feel like that's what he would have nowadays.
The problem is that if they make him into a full copy of Iron Man, they lose face (it'd be an admission of the popularity of Iron Man), as well as completely changing what the character is.

I think people who discuss this match up with "prep time" forget 1 thing. Batman is prepared for anything, iron man prepared for what he knows. I love iron man, but he is always upgrading his armor after some loss or something, after which he realised he needed a different armor. Batman may not be prepared for absolutely anything, but he know and prepares for anything that coudl happen. He knew about Martians, their weaknesses and strength, including the ability of mind control, way before the Martian Manhunter came to earth. In my opinion, in the first fight without any forward knowledge, Batman beats ironman before he could do anything, most likely disabling the suit. But if iron man can get away, or they fight a second time, iron man wins

If he managed to take down Ultron, and Ultron couldn't 'upload a virus' to his suit, Batman can merely cope to the idea. Ironman was written simply to be levels higher than Batman. Simple as that. Oh time travel. Well after Flashpoint paradox happen and Flash has restored the time. Batman was able to bring back the other timeline(Flashpoint timeline)and contain it. I don't see Ironman doing that.

For me batman wins, batman have good combat fight he can box, he can wrestle with high battle IQ. Batmancan beat much stronger than him, he can make counter attacks agains him. Unlike iron man, i never saw ironman fight without his armor and Weapon. He can't even box with captain america. High tech wrapon doesn't mean your much better
I agree that Iron Man has the advantage on paper as far as strength and “powers” go and Batman’s advantage is plot armor but it’s still difficult to call this one. This might be a closer call than many battles. Iron Man is a futurist and thinks ahead but Batman is the world’s best detective and planner. If not a 50/50 outcome here then I would maybe say Iron Man wins 6 times and Batman 4.
- ironman seems to have "physics breaking" inertial dampeners that stop his internal organs from getting crushed against his skeleton or popping out of his body when his suit accelerates/decelerates suddenly. the best that gel/foam in the suit can do is increase the "stopping distance" by a few centimetres to mitigate the force. tony either has mutant healing power or some sort of "ignore the laws of physics" tech in his armor, otherwise he would be a slurpee. - if we are using "special suits" then it all depends on the writer - if cap can bring down ironman and the bat can bring down supes consistently, then bruce has a shot at it depending on the writer

For me the main advantage Stark has is he's the more clever inventor. But say Bruce cracks the secret & crafts as durable an armor, then at best it's a stalemate it seems. But until he cracks the code so to speak...Bruce's only chance is to catch Stark slipping & sneak attack somehow.
You forgot to mention one key component that tony has in his suit he can analyze and adapt the fighting patterns of his opponents mid fight which counters batmans training he will still take hits because of experience difference but in the end iron man will win
iron man is usually not this strong in his own stories. batman has a similar phenomenon in his justice league appearances; somehow he is able to keep up with the league's combat speed and ap. I think its not because of his plot armor like people say but instead caused by a factor of batman or rather the entire dc universe which you may have forgotten or disregarded. Martial arts can amplify your raw stats in dc. This is how batman is even capable of even reacting to superman's attacks and tanking some of them when even a sick dying superman has been shown capable of crazy things. Also batman is often fighting a healthy or slightly nerfed (never a lethal dose) superman. Tangents aside im saying that his mastery of martial arts is truly all encompasing, even giving him mystical like abilities (but still human). there are many examples of this phenomenon, even in marvel. for instance, shang chi, black panther, iron fist (ik they have powers but many popular iterations of them do not). All this to say, you cant really decide a fight between 2 "human" comicbook characters by the stats difference because thei stats will always be extremely inconsisted, even for superheroes. If the fight was equal stats (as in physical stats), batman would probably win most times.

I also don't think any of their respective comically overpowered and frankly absurd armors are worth discussing as on am average day, neither are wearing their god level armors

The issue with these fights is that, as a massive Batman fan… a comic book counterpart almost ALWAYS has prep time. Because he’s literally untouchable for the writers the vast majority of the time, more often than not, a few seconds prep time and Iron Man would be toast.

Batman’s traits are being pretty underestimated here. He is significantly above Tony in every stat fighting prowess, tactics, strength, reflexes, speed, and their intelligence is basically equal. Iron man’s normal suits are not very durable being able to be blown up by rpg level attacks as we’ve seen in the mcu multiple times. Look what cap was able to do and he is way less of a technical martial artist than Batman. Sure iron man has more toys but Batman is more than his toys and has a pretty large arsenal himself. Also his most powerful suit is more powerful than Tony’s. I’m not saying Tony can’t win but Batman has this more often than not especially if he is prepared.

No, the suit with the power cosmic makes everything you just said irrelevant. As well as both version of the armor that fights celestials. Power cosmic is basically a plot device in marvel for them to just make ridiculous things happen. Celestials are higher dimensional beings. Think darkseid true form and that’s technically how they work. The armor that you see is just a shell that holds their energy that exist on a higher plane. Iron man has routinely been close to peak human in the comics too. His first round extremis enhancements allowed him perfect physical conditioning without working out and the ability to interface with digital components notably his suit, to make it react as fast as his normal body. He also cut off his heel to remove a tracking device and the extremis enhancements gave him a. Mild healing factor allowing the heel to completely regrow.
Extremis 2.0 was basically his bleeding edge armor as it used the inert extremis remains to fashion a suit that lived inside the hollows in his bones. He was the suit. His body was the suit.
Extremis 3.0 happened in the endo sym arc. It gave anyone peak human looks and conditioning. It even healed daredevils vision. And stark was the first test subject. He used it on himself.
He also is highly proficient in hand to hand despite it not being Batman’s level. He has had training from captain america, black widow, Shang chi, and other top tier marvel hand to hand fighters.
He’s beaten many foes with hand to hand blows when his armor is taken from him or like the time he beat the crap out of Ezekiel stane who’s much closer to his physical prime than Tony who’s a good bit older.
But then again hand to hand literally doesn’t matter in this situation like at all lol. In the suits both would be evenly matched Batman is superior but starks tech gives him movement prediction after some analysis allowing him to beat Batman through some technological trickery over actual practice.

Setting intellect and tech aside, Bruce is a better problem solver (and anticipator)…thus the title “world’s greatest detective.” I also don’t think we can ignore the huge advantage Bruce has as a skilled combatant.

I think people who discuss this match up with "prep time" forget 1 thing. Batman is prepared for anything, iron man prepared for what he knows. I love iron man, but he is always upgrading his armor after some loss or something, after which he realised he needed a different armor. Batman may not be prepared for absolutely anything, but he know and prepares for anything that coudl happen. He knew about Martians, their weaknesses and strength, including the ability of mind control, way before the Martian Manhunter came to earth. In my opinion, in the first fight without any forward knowledge, Batman beats ironman before he could do anything, most likely disabling the suit. But if iron man can get away, or they fight a second time, iron man wins

If he managed to take down Ultron, and Ultron couldn't 'upload a virus' to his suit, Batman can merely cope to the idea.

I agree that Iron Man has the advantage on paper as far as strength and “powers” go and Batman’s advantage is plot armor but it’s still difficult to call this one. This might be a closer call than many battles. Iron Man is a futurist and thinks ahead but Batman is the world’s best detective and planner. If not a 50/50 outcome here then I would maybe say Iron Man wins 6 times and Batman 4.

- ironman seems to have "physics breaking" inertial dampeners that stop his internal organs from getting crushed against his skeleton or popping out of his body when his suit accelerates/decelerates suddenly. the best that gel/foam in the suit can do is increase the "stopping distance" by a few centimetres to mitigate the force. tony either has mutant healing power or some sort of "ignore the laws of physics" tech in his armor, otherwise he would be a slurpee.

For me the main advantage Stark has is he's the more clever inventor. But say Bruce cracks the secret & crafts as durable an armor, then at best it's a stalemate it seems. But until he cracks the code so to speak...Bruce's only chance is to catch Stark slipping & sneak attack somehow.

You forgot to mention one key component that tony has in his suit he can analyze and adapt the fighting patterns of his opponents mid fight which counters batmans training he will still take hits because of experience difference but in the end iron man will win

iron man is usually not this strong in his own stories. batman has a similar phenomenon in his justice league appearances; somehow he is able to keep up with the league's combat speed and ap. I think its not because of his plot armor like people say but instead caused by a factor of batman or rather the entire dc universe which you may have forgotten or disregarded. Martial arts can amplify your raw stats in dc. This is how batman is even capable of even reacting to superman's attacks and tanking some of them when even a sick dying superman has been shown capable of crazy things. Also batman is often fighting a healthy or slightly nerfed (never a lethal dose) superman. Tangents aside im saying that his mastery of martial arts is truly all encompasing, even giving him mystical like abilities (but still human). there are many examples of this phenomenon, even in marvel. for instance, shang chi, black panther, iron fist (ik they have powers but many popular iterations of them do not). All this to say, you cant really decide a fight between 2 "human" comicbook characters by the stats difference because thei stats will always be extremely inconsisted, even for superheroes. If the fight was equal stats (as in physical stats), batman would probably win most times.

Batman also has the Insider suit and the Batman Beyond suit. I think Marvel has more God like characters than DC. Most Batman villains are humans.

Of the two of them, stark is likely the one to underestimate Bruce since he will just see a dude in a bat costume.
While iron man always learns from his mistakes and doesn't make the same mistake twice, he doesn't need to here.
I still give iron man the edge but I don't think it's a blowout.
I also don't think any of their respective comically overpowered and frankly absurd armors are worth discussing as on am average day, neither are wearing their god level armors
