    Unbelievable. I’ve been fighting this stopping pendulum issue for days. This video popped up on my feed this morning. So what the hell, what have I got to loose attitude made me give it a try. I squeezed the U a little bit together and it’s been running all morning now. Divine intervention? Lol. You saved me a lot of money and from going insane. Thanks so so much. 👍

    Can the problem be the chains? That they get stuck and that is why the clock stops?

    • @munnerlyn3
      @munnerlyn3  11 місяців тому

      Yes if the chains are rusty or the wrong size then that could stop your clock. Typically if they are the wrong size they slip when you wind the clock. If they arent slipping then the chains might be rusty or have open links. See my video on chains.

    Mike-I watched your video yesterday and found it very helpful--I think. I have a Regula 34 movement in a cuckoo clock, and the clock was given to my sister by a friend and she doesn't know anything about the history. I worked on my cuckoo clock years ago and got it running and it's still running so I thought I could help out. Anyway, I washed the movement off with a degreaser and oiled the pivots and reinstalled it, and it ran fine for a day, but now it won't run for more than 1 minute. It's level, and has a perfect sounding tick-tock beat. But after I start it by nudging the pendulum it runs for 60 ticks, then goes quiet and stops after about 5 more movements of the pendulum. It has the same type of U pendulum wire as yours. So my question is, does this clock have the symptoms you are describing for a fix, or is mine suffering from something else? Thanks.

    • @munnerlyn3
      @munnerlyn3  9 місяців тому

      I think it might be the "U" and "V" hooks that the pendulum leader wire connects to. The following video explains. I hope it helps out. Mark ua-cam.com/video/Arom0uC3H6I/v-deo.html

    Love the video. How do I fix an issue of where the clock always stops at 10 to the hour?

    • @munnerlyn3
      @munnerlyn3  13 днів тому

      Does your clock have a top mounted music box or even side mounted music box? If so then the lever that trips the music is binding. You need to check into that. If you manually trip the music and it takes a lot of force to do it then the lever from the movement that trips the music wont be able to do its job. Contact me on Facebook for further questions on this. My profile picture has to do with 9-11. Good luck.

    My cuckoo clock kept stopping and I didn't know why. It turned out to be simple - it wasn't hanging entirely vertically on the wall, it was at a slight tilt. When I straightened it, it worked fine again. Suggest you check for this first. The clue was a slightly uneven tic-toc.

    • @munnerlyn3
      @munnerlyn3  Рік тому

      totally agree with what you are saying. If you watch my videos on how to put a cuckoo clock in beat I discuss that. I tell people to take the pendulum off and tilt the clock slightly to the left/right until the pendulum leader wire starts swinging back and forth on its own even after you stop it with your fingers several times. Once it does then you should be able to put the pendulum back on and give it a slight swing and the clock should stay running.

    And I can't find that U-bar piece you're talking about. Can you help me find it?

    • @munnerlyn3
      @munnerlyn3  5 місяців тому

      The "U" bar is a piece of wire that comes off the post then the "V" bar is a piece of wire that hangs off of that, then the pendulum leader wire hangs on that piece of wire. I hope this helps.

      if is not to mcho bother from my part, have an other question the cuckoo clock bellow arm the one on top smallest gets stuck when the snail rack fall all the way down, the upper arm gets stuck they both should fall freely the on on top stays up causing cuckoo below stuck,

    • @munnerlyn3
      @munnerlyn3  Рік тому

      @@viridiana256072 I am having trouble understanding the issue but i think that you are saying the rack falls behind the snail. There is a tab on the rack that is supposed to hit the snail. I would adjust that so it hits the snail and also make sure that the snail is pushed as far back as possible.

    Does that apply to grandfathers clocks?

    • @munnerlyn3
      @munnerlyn3  Рік тому

      Grandfather clocks have a different set up. The clock is probably out of beat from moving it to sweep/dust/etc.,. Taking two people to do this. Start the pendulum from side to side and listen for an even tic toc. One person lifting up one side of the clock ever so slightly to get that even tic toc. Try the other side. Then whereever it sounds the best at if they dont have leveling feet a person puts shims such as cardboard under the side that when lifted sounded the best. Before you do all of this I would suggest to look at the suspension spring to make sure it isnt broken. Depending on your grandfather clock depends on what they are supposed to look like. I would suggest searching a you tube video on replacing a suspension spring on a grandfather clock. Good luck.
