Depending on the movement but most of the time you just connect it to the frame of the movement. Sometimes there is a hole that you feed it through and then pull it up and wrap it to itself. Mark, I watched this video several times. I am almost done fixing my father's Black Forest Deer/Squirrel clock. My only problem is the cuckoo is working backward. When he cuckoos he goes inside the box but when he is done cuckooing he stays outside the box. Any ideas on how to fix this issue? I love your work. You have helped me fix this clock that a jeweler told me would cost 500.00 and I needed a totally new mechanism. Thank you for making these videos, I love em. Sandy
Sandy contact me on face book. I need to see the movement so I can tell you what to do. My current profile picture has to do with 9-11. Plus search for a video where I am discussing each part and explain what that part does. It could be as simple as the spring that brings the bird back in might need tightened up, it could be the wire that connects to the door is stopping it from going back in. I have a video on the door not closing also and what to look for. If it is a Regula 25/34 movement it could be the tab on the rack stop lever that hits the cuckoo bird rod locking lever isnt bent enough to hit that lever when it is done cuckooing preventing the bird from coming back in. Search for parts on my channel and you will find that video.
@@munnerlyn3 Hi Mark, I am not sure I sent the last reply. I have a Regular 34-85. I will take the clock off the wall again to see if I can find the problem. The bird was working correctly until the last time I reassembled the clock, so I think there is just something stuck. The other problem I have is he is cuckooing a few minutes before the hour but he is cuckooing the correct number of times for the hour.
my bird snaps the wrong way. I'll try to get inside to fix this. trying to bring this coo coo back to life. great vid's

I need more information on what kind of movement you have but in the following video I discuss each part of a movement and say what each part does and what to do if you have issues.
