Ikr! What a beautiful life it would be. It's sooooo satisfying to watch, when in reality they'd say "oh it's nothing" or "nevermind"...or something else to that effect.
It’s kinda hilarious how Larry’s original hangup was that he didn’t wanna bother the chef with his overcomplicated order but then just ends up bothering him more anyway by pestering him about what face he made
Brilliant writing... When the chef actually starts to explain the reasoning behind the face he made (and a valid one at that), Larry absolutely dismisses him, and interrupts him to focus and nit pick at the most absurd thing possible, goes to show the depth of the character traits on this show.
This level of nothingness is worst than that of Seinfeld. Talk about a show about nothing. Apparently Jerry was holding Larry back on how low he could go on the nothingness scale lol
Me too! Its a over ridiculously over the top minute detailed conversation about nothing, and its comedy genius. This is my humour....so stupid its brilliant.!
Right? I saw this on the plane back from Thailand. It was a long flight so I thought: what the hell, I’ll watch this. I was cackling like a hyena, I was laughing so hard at this. I can’t remember the last time I laughed as hard as I did.
This is so simple but so funny! Its a conversation about nothing but is one the funniest scenes I've ever seen! This is what makes curb such excellent comedy.
Lol yes but Larry just wants people to know that he'd rather be no more than a very very small annoyance than to get his way if it means he might get some spit in his food
Honestly, people keep themselves busy in various ways and I think LD's way of conducting business is more socially productive than people think. He makes a mountain of an argument out of a, often metaphoric and hypothetical, mole hill. While that looks like him being narcissistic and selfish (and often is).....we shouldn't overlook at what else his is doing: he is also being openly iconoclastic, challenging other's perception of what 'social normality' means (if anything), questioning the logic and reasoning behind acts people take for granted, and he generally forces people to have a bit of introspection, if they want it or not. He also forces people to make sound arguments to support their ideas or actions. He does this at his own expense....but there is social and personal value there for everyone.
He is a textbook Narcissistic. He wants to feel special by finding fault in others. Most of the time people we call narcissists are straight up a**holes .But Larry , on the other hand, fits the definition of a narcissist neatly.

I remember the cook from an episode of The Andy Dick Show (severely underrated). He had a guest spot on this spoof of the Fear tv show they used to show on mtv back in the day. So funny!
He just can’t ever leave well enough alone and not be in the midst of some problem or uncomfortable situation. He wouldn’t know how to exist without this!!!!!
The thing Ive learnt from this is larry prefers his fish broiled, he made the same request of susie when she was doing fish for one of their dinner parties.
As a server/bartender at the same restaurant for 14 years I can tell you from personal experience that some of the line Cooks in restaurants are very temperamental and they take it very personal when you bring items back to the kitchen to have them cooked up or cooked differently it is a war that we deal with as servers a personal abuse/ bullying that we deal with on a daily basis
My reaction to this is the “meh” face that Larry makes and he does the dismissive motion with both of his hands, long ass fingers askew in all directions.
Larry lives a privileged life where nothing he does actually means anything and the people he interacts with don't really care much for him. He's like a rich, lonely man who forces petty interactions into his life to fill it with something that only proves to be distractions. Some consider that worse than isolation.
A semi horse whinny
I love how Larry has a term for everything and acts as if it's commonly used lol
Spite Store
I love that term, gets me every time 😅
I feel like that's what happens when you're funny, intelligent and surrounded by like minded friends
Too bad it's inaccurate
Like when he referred to the act of pushing in line by pretending to know someone as the "chat and cut"
I wish people were that open to communication in real life
No you don't. I am like this, and everyone leaves.
i used to be blunt like larry but people shape you to conform
Ikr! What a beautiful life it would be. It's sooooo satisfying to watch, when in reality they'd say "oh it's nothing" or "nevermind"...or something else to that effect.
To be blunt.......😉
Lol larry is an asshole for the show....
I like how Larry David always makes an argument out of nothing :)
He made two great shows out of nothing
The best part is that he always thinks he won the argument. :) :)

You clearly haven't met my brother
It’s kinda hilarious how Larry’s original hangup was that he didn’t wanna bother the chef with his overcomplicated order but then just ends up bothering him more anyway by pestering him about what face he made
Yes that's the joke.
Larry's analysis of life is nothing short of overbearing and incredible.
The way the waiter backed up when Larry approached him. 😆
it wasn't so much a "back-up" per se, more a side-step
@@hamonryehd "Roald Dohl" my ass. It's Larry boys, get 'em.
He’s steadying himself for a confrontation, because he saw Larry talking to the chef and knew he underplayed the chef’s face.
That wasn’t acting. Just a real person’s reaction to Larry David approaching them.
roald dahl this was more a half back step , if you look closely you see his lead foot step back to meet the mid section.
Larry David: the man who leaves everybody he interacts with over trivial matters asking themselves what their life has come to.
the waiter is hilarious! brilliant!!
Just found out he’s an alumni of my current college improv troupe
NeonTime do you know what his name is ? I recognize him from another show or movie
Julie D neil Casey. He was in the new ghostbusters, some collegehumor sketches I think, the league, Silicon Valley, and other stuff I’m sure

This scene would be a great excercise for an acting class.
Just what a I was going to write. Those two actors should have this experience on their resume.
That is such a cool idea!
When you have half a billion dollars innyour bank account you can just annoy the restaurant staff like that
Very true, way too much time on his hands and nothing better to do lol
The poorest people in restaurants annoy the restaurant staff just as bad
@@user-rd1sz4kk9f I was gonna say -- as a server, I can tell you that people from all walks of life can annoy us!
Why the fuck do you need half a billion dollars to do that?

Tim Possible You say that as if that were a bad thing
Alex Aceves oh no, I mean it in the best way possible
The 90's weren't ready for this much nothingness.
on a scale of 0 to 0, where would you say this scene rates? I am thinking it's a 2.
I love the lack of message too. If I want to learn from TV,I'll watch THE ELECTRIC COMPANY 😁(Or maybe the news)
Semi horse whiny lol
This is one of the best scenes I've seen in years. Larry, you're the man.
This is officially the best curb moment of all time. Still pissing myself

The genius of Larry David. Getting to the essence of the minutiae of life. Actually, the sub-minutiae..
he really has made a show about nothing
@@behindthebarwithjr157 Yep.. It's virtually Seinfeld redux. Life's gripes and annoyances, depicted brilliantly and hilariously.
He finally made a show truly about nothing
The waiter reminds of a short, portly Vince Vaughn.
Exact same hair but that's pree much it
The voice, too!

“..there was definitely an expulsion of air.” 😂
Absolute Genius, no one is on this level, he creates from almost Zero, what a mind this man has..
And I thought Seinfeld was a show about nothing!
This wins...
The waiter was almost about to break character, but he held on! Bravo!👏🤣🐴
Neil Casey, the waiter. OMG superb!
Can you imagine, this guy wasting two people's lives over a face, while they are trying to work
Larry missed an opportunity to get the waiter and the chef into a raging argument with each other on who was lying.
the implication is larry is trying to find out if he ate spit or not
Lol yes but Larry just wants people to know that he'd rather be no more than a very very small annoyance than to get his way if it means he might get some spit in his food

OMG!!! HE MAKES AN ISSUE ABOUT THE MOST INSIGNIFICANT THINGS. AND YET I CANT STOP WATCHING!
This will be a classic.
This show is too good
“a semi horse whinny?” LOL
That server doesn't even have to make a face to make a face.
One could get a doctorate degree in human culture just watching Larry David.
That’s a pretty strong reaction.
Well it was a strong request.
😂😂😂 it scares me that I see so much of myself in Larry David
Larry...he's busy.
Ha ha, yes he is.
It’s interesting how just this little clip is so entertaining?
This is one of my favourite Curb scenes.
You can tell that mouth sprays and breath mints were at the ready when they prepped for this scene
Larry should have gone for the stare down!

Larry lives for these moments
Anyone who acted like this to restaurant staff would have spit as one of their major food groups.
This is the stupidest and yet somehow the most brilliant scene
Towards 2:30 this is approaching levels of Beckett. Haven't watched Curb in a few years, but it's good to be back.
Agree, true hilarious absurdity right there...
